Following the public tearing to shred by former President Olusegun Obasanjo of his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) membership card, the Party's Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih said the action of the former president was an indication that he has left the party and he would not be missed.

Anenih spoke briefly on Monday in a short interview with State House correspondents. The BoT chairman told journalists that Obasanjo can join any party he so desires to join.

"He (Obasanjo) has the right to leave any party, and he has the right to join any party; he is a Nigerian" Anenih said.

Asked if PDP would miss Obasanjo, Anenih replied: "Why should we miss him?"Asked if the former president was not a big loss to the party, the BoT chairman said: "To us leaders it is not a loss."The former president had been at loggerheads with President Goodluck Jonathan, resulting in the duo engaging in the exchange tirades.

Obasanjo had been criticall on Jonathan's style of governance fueling speculations that he is sympathetic to All Progressives Congress (APC).

This is coming from a man who could not deliver his state to the PDP during the 2011 elections. What a shame.

Only the deluded APC goons and faint-hearted Nigerians would think PDP will miss Obasanjo. The fact that PDP is still standing and matching on despite the clandenstine anti-party activities of the Ota satan in the past two years clearly underplays his importance in Nigerian politics. I think OBJ was been smart to avoid irreparable damage to his political life by bolting out before been booted out of the party. His inability to turn Sule Lamido against GEJ is another testimony of his uselessness. OBJ is now a complete nuisance.

What took him so long? He should have torn his party card when he wrote his diatribe in October 2013. He kept quiet as usual, hoping for further opportunity to undermine his leader. We knew all along that OBJ was not a team player. Good riddance to stinking rubbish.

Chief Obasanjo exit from PDP party is a big blow to the party, the unfortunate situation is that this reckless party is left with liars and double mouthed people who will promise Mr Jonathan heaven and earth just to possess more empires. The drama has just started and the battle lines has been drawn, I foresee Fani kayode and Co decamp in to APC train. Mr Jonathan will learn from this that in Nigeria politics there are lot of hungry politicians who can sell their birthright for naira. Collapse of PDP will certainly brings more hope to the masses.

The good thing about OBJ exit will give GEJ a free hand to operate in his second term without a godfather.

OBJ has been with the APC since last two years.

PDP is finished. Not being partisan. But OBJ is actually more relevant than anyone thinks. He will never lose his relevance till he dies in this Nigeria.

Obj is not and old fool, he sees GEJ has a bug error and pulled out before he goes down with him in history.

People just like castigating OBJ. If you're a deep thinker, you'll know that although ObJ has made lots of blunder, he still remains invaluable to this country

Directly or indirectly, the exit of Obasanjo is a big loss to PDP...PDP stand to loose nothing with obasanjo still active in the party...Imagine if Obasanjo is in the campaign train of Jonathan, talking to people with his vast knowledge of the three ethnic languages, convincing the indigeneous investors(obj boys) for GEJ,polishing GEJ in the face of international communities etc Obasanjo is a phenomenon in Nigeria as a whole.

Who publicly forgives thieves and sets murderers free? Has there been a single arrest of corrupt official in Gejs regime? At least we can point to one or two in Objs regime

In as much as Anenih is not part of the new generation, have u ever heard him run his mouth against opposition or behave in ways to gain cheap relevancy? Anyway, he will definately take a back seat role after this election. And when I mean pdp been a party for the new generation does not totally means that the old folks will be totally out but much of the roles will be played by young and vibrant people while the old folks will only play advisory roles.

You gerrit now?

If we look at this issue technically, one have to believe or come to conclussion that Nigeria politics is not centred purposely for the masses to enjoy anything like "dividend of democracy" most Nigerian believe that PDP as rule us for many years and their is no positive result therefrom and they clamour for change. Yes change' we all support it' but the bottom line is that many parties merged together to form a stronghold called APC for it to be bouyant financially and gain full recognision. After the merger many PDP members yearning for one post or the other which they knew it wouldn't be graced that oppourtunities were defecting to APC and the APC party we all believe that it is bringing change. Now let calculate if this party have not been mixed with unwanted shaft only because they want to gain 2015 Presidential election, lobbying with PDP card-carrying (obj) to join the party(APC),' directly, inderctly' how does this stands to benefit the masses, where those we believe we didn't enjoy any dividend of democracy during their regime are now joining the party tagged with change, will their be change at all? Let ask ourself " will their be change at all?

Change2015:
This only goes to further illustrate the timidity, incompetence and waywardness of the pdp under Jonathan. Instead of disciplining Obasanjo as an errant member, they have let him seize the initiative, and now he has delivered another public blow to the pdp. Jonathan always too slow to act, too beholden to the wrong people, too ignorant of the right thing to do. They can suffer the consequences of their own folly, while the nation looks on thoroughly bemused.

How is Obj a double dealer? Let's assume you're in his shoes, you find out you protege has destroyed all hopes could ever have in your party and that he has also explicitly condoned corruption, what would you do?

Should you place the love for a political party over the well being of a nation?

FYI, Obj has not categorically endorsed GMB, its just APC trying to make it look like OBJ is on their side.

In one of Obj's interviews he said he was disappointed there wasn't recognition for any other candidate apart from GEJ and GMB.

People don't know that Obj is the most liberal leader so far - he doesn't do ethnic favouritism, religious sentiments or of recent partisanship.
