Why are the IBO's always claiming other groups as their own. I remember they tried to claim Ikwerre as ibo very recently. Why are they so desperate, is it by force to be IBO. 4 Likes |

CaptainOjemba:Even as small as Ogoni is,they still maintain their unique identity without being culturally colonised by their giant igbo neighbours.I wonder how anybody could abandone his laguage and embrace a foreign language and culture over night because of trade.ika sucks and ikwere too. 11 Likes |

Igbos have been in the game of claiming other smaller groups as theirs. if any one is to claim IKA, i think the Edo/Bini should. Meantime am consulting our erudite historian - Chief. Onyekpeze to unravel this. SAI BUHARI/OKOWA 2 Likes 1 Share |

most Ika people here want to maintain their uniqueness but the Ibos would not let them be.. The creation of Anioma state was opposed by the Ibos as they claimed it would add another state to the South-south.. Today they claim that Anioma is south east.. Funny how tonychristopher has turned a blind eye to what he started 1 Like 1 Share

Ojiofor:Exactly.. The south is too receptive and the east is too oppresive because of this scenario, they march in and lay claims.. Most irritating is the Ika man who gives his kids Igbo names because of politics.. Woe unto them 1 Like 1 Share |

rexbuton: ^^^Listen mate! Nobody is forcing you guys to join up with the larger Igbo nation; you guys are more than welcome to team up with the Binis or Yorubas to form your own country in the event of a split! If there are some dissenting voices amongst you that would prefer to side with the Igbo cause, then a referendum will resolve the matter! So try and stop feeling so self-important....you're starting to sound pathetic! 14 Likes 1 Share |

rexbuton:ol'boy, what I mean in my first post is that you guys from ika and Ikwerre claiming that ndigbo influence your language through trade or whatever is a lie from pit of hell...my question is why small ethnic group like ogoni manage to keep their unique identity while ika could not even though they were outside eastern region where igbo had political and cultural influence.my point is nor matter how hard you try, you can't creat a new ethnic group in this twenty-first century. The other day a political leader from the north called the new CBN governor an igboman I was expecting emefiele or ika people to call him to order but no one did.ranting on internet doesn't change shit. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

rexbuton: I think that you are mistaking. I asked how come that ika speak a dialect of igbo and yet they come from from benin. You might claim that they don't speak igbo but I am igbo and I understAnd them yet I have not lived in ika Now how come they have igbo names like ifeanyi and ehiedu how come their king is obi and not ovie or oba then how come their market days are igbo I would have given u a research work and obi of owa stand on this Did igbo colonise the benin migrants Did eze chime any role O igbo never objected to anioma what igbos said is that anioma should be in South east but igbo is skeptical about ika position not anioma position pls don't mix it up Pls answer these question 2 Likes |

rexbuton: **grins** Ojukwu never added anioma because anioma was not under the purview of his administration. It is the evidence that he wasn't a greedy man unlike what many hungry nigerian journalists portrayed him to be. Gowon and Awo would have called him greedy if he did. Even at that the Aniomas still stood and fought with their brothers from Enugu, Aba, Ebonyi as heroes. **LOLS** cc: Onenaira6 11 Likes |

My dear I do not buy that submIssion cos efik small ogoni even olukmi maintains their languageS yet they are in midst of igbos I think that ika as a people a bit confused cos I know their are benin migrants now how come they spoke igbo dialects that sound like oweRri It means Either igbo influenced theem or they met original igbo in ikaland that assimilated them This has been trashed out and not all the ika believe in this benin stuff Ojiofor: 2 Likes |

i want to point out one mistake people normally make,in Agbor history, the starting point. Here the writer point it out but fail to explain it,which also show his lack of knowledge.OMINIjIE is a man who begot Agbor, which many historician have also agree with even the King of Agbor, atleast google is your friend.Omini is from a town in Anambra state called AGULERI,in ENUGWU AGULERI,and from a royal linage,he begot some part of Nsugbe and Agbor. This i challange the writer to clearify because here,he made mention that their is ominijie in Agbor and oldest settle. 1 Like |

tonychristopher: **grins** Yes there were Igbo coup plotters from Anioma, Onitsha and there also yorubas like Wale and Banjo. The point is Ojukwu was not expansionist and greedy and Igbos looked(tried to) after own and everyone whether in SE or present day SS including non-Igbos there like Efiks with whom Igbos share mutual respect. **grins** 3 Likes |

It is not only ridiculous but absolutely laughable that a grown man does not and can not discern his originality. If this punk was fed unfounded story about his originality, I ask him whether the time has not come for him to re-examine the missing links in such convoluted concoction. Let us assume that this homeless Prince of Bini Kingdom wondering around was so confused that he did not remember his name. Did he also forget the Edo collective words for own children that he used that of Igbo word, “UMU”, as in UMUNEDE? When will this stupidity end among certain idiotic fellows? You will never be Igbo because a true Igbo person would not claim ancestry to a village empire such as Bini. So how did ika end up with everything igbo Maybe because uk ruled us we should claim english GenIgrigi: 1 Like |

I still don't understand why Igbos always have issues with the minority ethnic groups around them. Let the people claim allegiance to whoever they believe is in best position to protect their interest. All this attaché by force is embarrassing and should stop. 5 Likes 1 Share |

How can you have a very similar culture to one group and you choose to say you are from another group. I know alot of Ika people and i can understand what alot of them are saying when they speak their language and they can all easily relate with any Igbo man. Honestly, i have never seen an Ika man relating to a Bini man in Ika language. I am not disputing the fact that their was a kind of relation between the Bini kingdom and Ika's. It doesn't make sense for both Ika and Ikwerre's to claim Benin ancestory when the relationship with Bini culture is not visible. I still feel it is Ika's choice to choose who they feel they relate to but whether you like it or not, there is only one truth and proper research and investigation would reveal the earliest settlers of that location. 1 Like |

IHEJIRIKAisBOKO: **grins** No this is not Bayo, he is a bit smarter than this. You must be Segun/Seggegs the one still struggling with final project in his 8th year in LAUTECH. Segun i do not know how to break this down for your little brain but i'll try. I know you sell orijin bitters in a guest house and love beer so i'll use that analogy. Ojukwu= Guiness Orijin drink= Bonny Star= Anioma Orijin belongs to Guiness, but because star is an alcoholic drink doesn't mean it's owned by Guiness. Even though they are both alcoholic drinks. If you tell Guiness to hand over Orijin producing rights because it sells fast, there will be a fight. I am not very hopeful you'll understand though.I am not a primary school teacher. **LOLS** 11 Likes |

fter the independence of Nigeria , A few Nigerian groups desired their own identity separate from forced colonial political and social institutions. The Anioma were no exception. As a wave of demand for state creation in the 1970s permeated the Nigerian political landscape, included in this movement was the yearning for Ndi-Anioma, land of the Aniomas as a separate political state for the Anioma people. [2] This agitation gave birth to the demand of Anioma State, which though remains unrealized. In 2007, the National Assembly of Nigeria announced its willingness to allow the creation of one more State for the Igbo people, a committee to adopt a State for the Igbo was set up and led by Chief Emmnauel Iwuanyawu, this committee which failed in adopting any State for the region, threw out Anioma, stating that the creation of Anioma State would amount to an additional State for South-South region of the country. The Anioma people have renewed this agitation once again following another recent announcement by the National Assembly that seven more States may be created in the country to create balance among the various geopolitical regions in the country.Among pro Anioma Activist is Henry Ogochukwu have been promoting the creation of Anioma State through Anioma Peoples Association. Henry Ogochukwu is the President General of Anioma Peoples Association |
