Boko Haram Burns Down Nigeria Army Base In Adamawa As Soldiers Flee

A report from northeastern Nigeria says Boko Haram burned down a military base on Sunday night as soldiers fled their attack.

The Associated Press (AP) said in a report from Yola that only local fighters prevented the insurgents from retaking Gulak, the headquarters of Madagali Local Government area of Adamawa State.
James Ularamu, a former chairman of the council, told AP the brave civilian fighters held Gulak town after the soldiers ran away, until the military sent reinforcements who then fought off the extremists.  By that time, the base had been burned down.

“Sunday night's attack came as a military intelligence officer confirmed that 107 soldiers remain missing nearly two weeks after a Nov. 19 battle,” the report said.  The Nigerian Army has denied that the soldiers were missing.

“Premium Times newspaper first reported the soldiers from the 157 Battalion, including their commanding officer, were missing in action along with the tank, three artillery guns and eight trucks including one carrying 60,000 rounds of ammunition,” the report said.

It added that an army officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said that Boko Haram also drove off with an army T-72 tank and dozens of new camouflage uniforms. According to AP, the military has reported that it destroyed dozens of Boko Haram camps and freed more than 1,000 kidnap victims in recent weeks. “But Boko Haram has stepped up the tempo and range of its attacks, with raids and suicide bombings in the past week in Niger, Cameroon and northern Nigeria. “Early Sunday the extremists kidnapped dozens of girls and set ablaze hundreds of buildings in Bam in Borno state, said resident Mallam Ali.”

The report noted that these setbacks are coming as Nigeria's government admitted it cannot crush by December the 6-year uprising that has killed some 20,000 people.

Al Shabaab Militants Repulsed in Wajir Raid

Calm has been restored at the border town of Konton in Wajir county after 12 suspected members of al Shabaab invaded the area and allegedly lectured residents on Friday night.

A contingent of security officers, including Kenya Defence Forces personnel based at Gerille, 12km from the town, swung into action and pushed the militants back into Somalia.

The militants are said to have crossed into the area at 8pm from Daresalam town, which is seven kilometres from the Kenya-Somalia border.

They allegedly hoisted a black flag at a chief's office after removing the Kenyan one.

But Northeastern regional coordinator Mohamud Saleh denied they hoisted a flag and described the invasion a "minor one".

"The military officers stationed at Gerille quickly responded and in less than 20 minutes, the militias had been repulsed," he said.

Saleh said it was impossible for the militants to hoist a flag in 20 minutes.

He said normalcy has returned.

Saleh said he contacted the Somali National Army and urged it to immediately take over Daresalam town, which is still under the militia's control, or the Kenyan forces will storm it.

The incident comes a month after the militants took over Auasquran centre in Somalia, five kilometres from Konton.

Northeastern, which has borne the brunt of terror attacks since 2011, has enjoyed peace for the past seven months.

The last major attack was at Garissa University College on April 2, where 148 people were killed.

The government made a raft of changes after the attack, including posting new security chiefs.

With confirmed sightings of BH fighting alongside ISIS in Syria and Iraq, will the NA be ready when the ISIS fighters decide to pay back BH by helping them? Or are we to live on the assumptions that ISIS cannot have that much breathing space as to come launch attacks in Nigeria?`
Or maybe skin colour differentiation will help in easily identifying ISIS fighters?

Except the MNJTF secures the borders all the way to Algeria, Libya, then I fear BH may lay hands on some hardcore weapons from ISIS very soon.

That has being my greatest fear and I pray BH menace will never get to that level. But let's face realty if these menace his not being reduced to the bearest minimum then it might one day be worst than what we've imagine, when they will be armed with ATGM and stinger missiles, then may be our military chiefs and leaders might be awaken!
Now is the time to act if our armed forces are properly armed and equipped with modern hardwares, especially the Airforce and the army. But my prayer his it will never get to that extent but our military chiefs should always conduct "risk assessment " for such future occurrence.

US lists two Boko Haram leaders for sanction.

The US Department of Treasury on Tuesday named two leaders of the Boko Haram sect for economic sanctions, saying both are closely involved in deadly attacks in Nigeria, AFP reported.

The Treasury Department said Mohammed Nur, a Boko Haram commander who has represented the group in negotiations with the federal government, was placed on its financial blacklist for his involvement in suicide bomb attacks, including one on the United Nations headquarters in Abuja in 2011.

“Nur is a senior Boko Haram member who supports Boko Haram’s campaign of violence against the government of Nigeria,” said Treasury acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Adam Szubin.

The second Boko Haram figure placed on the sanctions’ list is Mustapha Chad, a Chadian national who in 2013 directed Boko Haram activities in Yobe State.

The sanctions, which seek to freeze assets of the individuals and lock them out of the global financial system, have added to US designations of Boko Haram as an international terror group two years ago.

The US had also imposed similar sanctions on the leader of Boko Haram, Abubakar Shekau, and other commanders of the group.

The Treasury Department pointed out that earlier this year, Boko Haram also pledged allegiance to the Islamic State jihadist group based in Syria and Iraq.

“From kidnapping schoolgirls to mass fatality terrorist attacks, Boko Haram represents a threat not just to innocents in Nigeria but to all civilised society”, it stated.

The truth is actually quite numbers of soldiers died and some equipment and hardware were captured. But the figure of K.I.A that where declared by the press/media where exaggerated . And all soldiers/officers that where M.I.A has returned and reported to there duties ever since.

In the news perpetuated by the media; rumour has it that BH captured a T-72 and from the propaganda video released by BH what was captured was a BTR-4E, any way it was a slight major set back for the fight against terrorism but the media is not doing a good work to fight terrorism.

How Dasuki aided importation of illegal arms into Nigeria – NATFORCEBy Emmanuel Uzodinma on December 2, 2015

The National Task Force on Illegal Importation of Firearms, NATFORCE, on Tuesday threw more light into its claims that the ex-National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd), among others, allegedly aided the importation of several trailers of illegal arms and ammunitions into the country.

The NATFORCE alleged that the arms were delivered to the Islamic terrorists, Boko Haram, a group that has gruesomely murdered tens of thousands of innocent Nigerians.

One of the documents made available by the NATFORCE revealed that over 22 trucks of arms, ammunitions and light weapons were imported illegally into the country within the period.

The truck numbers that allegedly brought the arms and ammunitions into the country, which were allegedly cleared by the Customs are: “LSR468KD; KTU22XM; XW136RBC; LSD21ZL; 2578A0; BDG182XF; AGI463XX; XK442AB; LSD871XL; GT2131F; GT4813R; EKY361XC; GC9570R; LND692XL; TG7974AL; XL101BDG; TG2322AN; AG1390RB; TG3492AL; XV866APP; X875EPE and AU2080RB.”

In a letter dated 27th of July, 2015 addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari, titled: “abduction of Chief Dr. Osita Emmanuel Okereke, (OON) by the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (rtd) & Sir. Mike Okiro, Chairman Police Service Commission”, the petitioner, Dr. Okereke, who is the Director General of the NATFORCE alleged that because he refused to back down on the activities of his agency in combating illegal importation of arms, ammunition and light weapons, the duo had vowed to kill him.

He alleged that on the 20th of November, 2014 at Seme Border, one Col. T Isah of 242 Battalion of the Nigerian Army came to Seme Border with his men loaded in five Hilux pick-up Vans and over powered the men and officers of the National Taskforce (NATFORCE) and escorted ten trucks of Arms and Ammunition into the country.

“When we alerted the presidency, ex-NSA Dasuki summoned Col. Isah, who was his boy, to Abuja for purported interrogation but little did we know that Col. Dasuki and ex-CG Custom Diko were hands in glove as Col. T Isah was never interrogated as he is their agent vide Sam Express Company acting as their agent”, he further alleged.

According to him, “Col. Isah of 242 Battalions of the Nigerian Army Lagos has always acted the script of the former NSA; the ex-CG of Custom had at about the same period personally gave ex-NSA about 30 vehicles which contained arms were subsequently sent to Kaduna and packed at Ndediko Park along Nnamdi Azikiwe Way near Mando, Kaduna State.

“It would not be out of place if your Excellency finds time and confronts Col. Dasuki with the ownership of the said arms and ammunition as the whole incident was engineered by him and the ex-CG of Custom by name Mr. Diko.

“Sir, it will be noteworthy to mention that Col. Dasuki and the former CG of Customs swore that they would eliminate me (Dr. Okereke) from the surface of this earth; they have followed up with actions. There have been assassination attempts on my life hatched by the CG of customs and retired Col. Dasuki.”

Meanwhile, it was gathered that earlier, the NATFORCE had in a letter dated 3rd December, 2014 with Ref: NTF/R.012/PWM/056 addressed to former President Goodluck Jonathan titled, ‘Very Urgent and Confidential’; disclosed that Col. Isah and a business mogul called Sam Express were allegedly in the habit of aiding and abetting importation and release of arms, ammunitions, light weapons and contraband goods from Seme Border.

The letter called on the Federal Government to request the scanning report from the Nigerian Customs and institute a high powered investigation into the matter with a view to bringing culprits to book for a better Nigeria.

However, the NATFORCE alleged that the former NSA sat on all the letters.

Cameroon Army kills 100 from Boko Haram, frees 900 hostages

Cameroon Army said Wednesday it has freed 900 Boko Haram hostages and killed 100 of the group’s fighters during a three-day raid last week.

A government spokesman says joint forces from the nations of Cameroon, Nigeria, Chad and Benin killed more than 100 militant fighters and arrested 100 others in a three-day operation that unfolded in the Sambisa Forest over the weekend. The forest straddles northeastern Nigeria and Cameroon, and the Lake Chad area.

"A special clean-up operation from November 26 to 28" against Boko Haram in the border area with Nigeria "neutralized more than 100 jihadists," Defense Minister Joseph Beti Assomo said in a statement broadcast on national radio, AFP reported.

The report, which AFP says could not be independently confirmed, comes as two female suicide bombers detonated explosives, killing at least six people.

Midjiyawa Bakary said Wednesday that soldiers killed a third suicide bomber before she attacked. He said the attackers came from Nigeria into the border town of Waza late Tuesday.

Senior military official Col. Jacob Kodji said Nigeria's Boko Haram extremists have been using teenage suicide bombers and planting land mines.

He said two Cameroonian soldiers were killed Monday by a land mine planted by militants in the village of Gangse in northern Cameroon. Boko Haram has expanded attacks into Cameroon, Chad and Niger — all countries contributing troops to a regional force intended to wipe out the extremists.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.(source FOX NEWS)

Troops Apprehend Potential Child Suicide Bomber

Vigilant troops of 7 Division Garrison providing security at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp, Dalori in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council, Borno State yesterday Tuesday afternoon apprehended an 11-year-old boy, Master Usman Modu Tella a potential suicide bomber.

He is suspect number 82 on the poster containing the photographs of 100 wanted suspected Boko Haram terrorists released by the Nigerian Army. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect was from Bama town and is  among 4 other children trained for suicide bombing by the Boko Haram terrorists. He further added that the 3 others have already carried out their missions at different locations. His job was to do same in the camp sometime in the future.

The boy also pointed out one other Boko Haram senior member, Alhaji Kerewu Abubakar at the camp.

It will be recalled that due to the concerted efforts of the military quite a number of towns and villages hitherto held by the Boko Haram terrorists were liberated, this brought about an unprecedented influx of IDPs to the camp which the terrorists took advantage and infiltrate in order  to wreck more havoc among the society. The case of these suspects clearly indicated this point hence the need for proper screening of all IDPs with a view to ascertain their true identity.

The apprehension of the suspects is a boost to the fight against terrorism and insurgency in that they were assisting with investigation that would lead to the arrest of more suspected terrorists in the camp and elsewhere.

You are please requested to disseminate this information to the public through your medium.

Thank you for your kind and usual cooperation.

These his what I have seing the numbers of t72 without ERA ARMOR is more than 16, even the 2nd hand BMP-1 we bought is 20units. Now the the numbers of t72 is more than or is 50 units in exact numbers.
Now not all post will have MBT serving such post but such should not be the case, and don't forget sambisa forest is three times the size of Lagos and that vast, so just imagine the numbers of post we will have and don't forget part of Yobe and Adamawa.l, and I don't think all the tanks procured will be in the theatre of war or battle fields so to say, soke will be in other ARMOR BRIGADE OR BATTALION in other part of the country, they might just be few in number.
It's already late but i'll try and get the pictures seing is believing, but if you can try and take ur time, scroll through the pages i think I've posted such pictures. Seeing is believing.
