There is a better chance of finding clean water a little below 5ft in kano than finding a droplet of oil in lagos at a million ft. |

tochstorm: I like your knowlege of chemistry but it is the same chemistry that talks about industrial production of clean water by various separation techniques. Research says you can produce the cleanest water from your faeces. Nigeria is not just ready to tackle water problem. Let the right thinking people get there and you will see wonders |

Oil, the dirty hydrocarbon, is becoming iirelevant every day. As technology improves, every nation will discover their own. And the price will keep coming down untill cost of production will be far higher than sales.... briatain just discovered a field with 100 billiion barrels of oil Last week. oil is gradually becoming out dated, we the wise men from the east dont care abt oil, though every SE state has the potential of producing oil. we naturally blessed to be productive ..... 3 Likes |

abu12: So when the Anambra state Government was pumping Billions into Orient oil,you people didn't know it was your land? When investors were staking billions into the place, you people didn't know it was your land? Now that Orient oil has been commissioned and set to make money, you Kogi people appear from no where to claim where you did not sow. Of course you people knew that no one would put in a kobo of investment there because you guys are classed as part of the "Volatile North". 2 Likes |

Ondo state is an oil producing state which also have the largest reserve of bitumen in Nigeria & followed by Ogun state, please note that apart from oil that was found in Lagos, huge amount of gas deport was found in Lagos & this is the major reason shell is selling many of it facilities in the Niger Delta & heading to Lagos. Key players in Oil & gas as made it top secret for a very long time & it being speculated that Lagos oil may be able to produce oil in 100,000s per barrels a day. |

What a useless thread. 10,000 is not a commercial quantities and I see no reason why people are dancing shoki because of mere 10,000. Technology is the way to go not oyel. |

sanandreas: Are you sure about this? They are spending $220M upfront. Even if they have a plateau period of only 6 month, the field will pay back within a year. zimoni: Nigerians are so spoilt, when there are countless number of fields producing less than 10k barrels in the North Sea |

bushdoc9919: Oil is no curse; don't tell me that deceptive bullshit. Pretenders cannot deceive people anybody anymore. Oil is why Nigeria is far ahead of other W. African countries in infrastructural development. Oil is why Lagos is a mega city in Africa. As for manufacturing, so long as there is crude oil in the N/Delta, most sections of Nigeria can't think of manufacturing anything, some can't even work. Have you attended political rallies in the north? It is as if everybody out there depends on politics for a living. Guess why all the politics of alliance upon alliance these days. It is for taking control of management of crude oil receipts. 1 Like |
