Ok Aresa hasn't even started on Fashola. You can't list his achievements because you'll end up leaving stuff out. I keep saying it even Fashola can't list all his achievements. I saw a booklet from LASG listing Fashola's achievements and even that booklet left a LOT of projects out, thick booklet.

I'll stop right here because to my knowledge, this is all the projects started and completed by Akpabio in Akwa Ibom.

I'll also hold off on Fashola for 1 hour and let others insert whatever I left out as completed projects in Akwa Ibom just to be fair..

Akpabio is a fraud. The people have been severally robbed. When one compares akpabios so called achievement to the monthly allocation this fool receives, one will realise that this criminal deserves nothing but to be stoned to death.

Akpabio governed just 5 million people while fashola governed 21 million people

When did it jump to 21 million undecided? Acccording to 2006 National population census, the population of Lagos was 7,937, 932 million.

2006 Census: Lagos Raises Fresh Evidence to Dispute Figures

Lagos State has raised fresh evidence in support of its claim that the population of the state is more than the 9,113,605 recorded for it by the Nigerian Population Commission after the 2006 head count.

The state has also recruited the services of six leading law firms in Nigeria to prosecute its complaints before the Census Tribunal sitting in Abuja. The law firms are Simon Coopers, Elias and Co., Femi Okunnu, M. A. Bashua, Kola Awodein and Sofunde, Belgore and Osakwe.

The fresh evidence which Lagos has since filed before the tribunal showed that the population of the state should have been within the range of 13 million to 19 million.

In its complaint before the tribunal, Lagos said, "After the release of the report of the census exericse Lagos State Government engaged the services of Romis Consultants Limited a reputable Statistic, Data Analyst and Demography company to analyse the result returned for Lagos State on local government areas basis, which it did and submitted its report to the state government.

"That the report of the consultant revealed that, the result released for Amuwo Odofin Local Government area is inacurate, false and inconsitent with the actual figure of people living or counted in the local government area as well as all known demography indices."

It said that NPC did not create adequate enumeration areas and that the enumerators sent to the state were inadequate. The state said it had discovered that 90 enumeration maps which contained relevant data of many houses for thousands of lagosians were missing from NPC's records, with the effects that those houses in various parts of the state were not marked or listed for the enumeration exercise and thus the people inhabiting the houses were not counted.

The state said that NPC did not take cognizance of the megalopolis status of Lagos by which international organisations have described the city and expressed the fears that in the next five years, it would become one of the most thickly populated cities in the world.

It relied on a report of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) released in 2001 which put the population of Lagos at 13.4 million at that time.

"Given the visible demographic, biological and social parameteres on ground in the state, the population was expected to increase to well over 17 million in eight year," it added.

It said, "A lot of researches have been carried out globally that associated high demographic value to the population of Lagos State.

"By its 1999 Revision, World Urbanization Prospects, a respected International Publication of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs Population Division, it asserted that Lagos is the only Mega City in Nigeria with a population figure above the 10 million mark."

The new evidence being raised by the state may have come a little too late as the NPC asked the tribunal not to allow it because it was filed out of time.

NPC's counsel, Chief Mike Ahamba SAN said that the amendment which Lagos was seeking was caught by the provisions of Paragraph 15(1) of the 3rd Schedule to the National Population Commission Act which forbids substantial amendment to a complaint once the time to file a complaint has lapsed.

But Professor Yemi Osinbajo SAN, who argued the state's application to amend the complaint said that the amendment was not substantial.

He also argued that NPC did not have anything to lose if the amendment was allowed. Rather, it would allow the tribunal to do substantial justice to the state's complaints.

The tribunal which has as its chairman Mrs. Ifenyinwa Obegolu has adjourned ruling on whether to accept the amendment or not to November 17th 2010.

Nigerians and lies..

Lagos 21million yet they had less than 2million voters in election.

Ijaws are 14million yet the have 600,000 registered voters i and slightly above 300,000 accredited voters in Bayelsa, the all-Ijaw state.

Igbos are 60% of Nigerias population..
What a country.

At topic, lagos and Aks can do better, if they minimise corruption.

Did the figure capture those who decided not to be counted? Or those who decidedly went to their state of origin for such enumeration?

With population at his disposal I can be inferred that Fashola generates more revenue than Akpabio through taxation and it should reciprocate with development to touch the 21 million people.

Are u the one that gave birth to 21 million people living in Lagos

Abeg relax urself.

Lagos as @ 2006 census was about 9 million, 10 years on, their population may add 4 - 5 million people, making it about 13.5 million people.

Forget all those talk about 21 million people living in Lagos, a huge chunk of Lagos population are businessmen all over Africa who flock in there in the millions to do business. even people living in neighbouring SW States come to work in Lagos everyday.

You people are really funny.
Akwaibom's major source of revenue is from federal allocations.
Rivers akwaibom and lagos are the three biggest reciepients of federal allocations with akwaibom looking the most promising.
So there is nothing special about akwaibom's revenues.
Lagos on the other hand not only recieves one of the biggest federal revenues, but generates huge IGR while piling up humongous debts even with increasing under-development.
So your fashola is the scam of the highest order.

bros,in as much as I commend fashola.akpabio has done extremely well.most governors lack focus.he was focus all through.

some would have gotten the allocation and still embezzle with no project to show for it.

yes, akwa ibom is the highest receiving federal allocation state but the governor really used it judiciously.

The writer did not even include projects like the e library which to me is the best in his projects, the international airport, stadium, independent power project with 191 mega watts, ibom tropicana entertainment center, international specialist hospitals, cottage hospitals in all local government, good looking posh roads all over the state, sweet flyovers etc

Fashola did very well too.We just pray the new governor elect will not slow down cos of the experience cross river had when Donald duke performed and imoke slowed down.

We also pray Ambode continues with the work of fashola cos he also did well.

Let's continue to pray for all governors even those who did not perform cos this is our country and we pray for even development in all parts of the country.

God bless you.

You can easily boycott golden gate-V.I. traffic and you are in lekki

So if solved a problem and affected residents directly.
