Whenever i hear or see Nigerians give their veiws,i cant stop imagining how after 55 years,the citizens still fall prey to cheap political processes,strategies,propaganda's,etc,nigerians CANT do anything about how much our senators earn,not even d president does.only d senate has d right to reveiw d act.A political officers salaries and allowances makes only 10% of his earnings.we have problems bigger than this issue,and d worst of it is that many thinks one GMB can stamp everything out,by just making a tv broadcast and decreeing an end to corruption.AM SORRY TO SAY THIS BUT 98% OF NIGERIANS,does not even know the nations problem.SECONDLY;we should know our politicians are not doing a work for charity,go round d world politics is a lucrative business.

All that i can perceive here is dt naija is about 2 begin to experience true democracy, where leaders ar elected to serve. where govt positions r assumed not just for the financial gain but more for service to the nation.
maybe pretty soon ppl ll stop killing 2 bcome senators,honourables, ministers...etc.

I wonder why no a past/incumbent senator cannot openly tell the public what he earns. From all indication, they earn exorbitantly high.. All of those wastage of funds should be stopped.

The reason for the mixed reaction is basically that the guy does not know which of the amount going into their bank account should be picked as their salary or allowances, so many inflow or cash from Federal pulse, so He does not want to create another scene that was why is referring the press to bank, is the bank his employer or should the bank be in a better position to tell their pay. He is an insincere human being. To many payments he doesn't know which is which.

God will perform the necessary d surgical operation on the ill nation. Anyone who wants to stop this operation shall be surgically operated upon for no reason and looses his/her life in the theatre for the sake of the neglected poor people of Nigeria. Amen. I know they cant say Amen, whether u say it or not it being said and it will be so.

If it wasn't a juicy pay, it wouldn't be worth dying for.

The NASS will remain a failed entity until the salary structure is reviewed n and the salary reduced.

Its time they take a pay cut and the monies for constituency allowance re channelled not into their accounts but that of their various state governments where these lawmakers can perform oversight function on how these monies are spent.

Better still these monies can be payed into federal government held accounts at the various state level, where the federal government can supervise how/what, and where/when these monies are used.

Imagine I heard in Edo State house of assembly a sitting lawmaker is given about 21 million naira annually for constituency allowance. At the end of the day you hear that they dug bore holes, renovated schools what else again?

It's a simple thing, they should stop developing their constituencies, so that all the constituency allowance will be forwarded to the federal government coffers for direct development.

one of the things i HATE hearing from public office holders. "whoever wants evidence should go/come and get it", "the records are there", Why do they take us for fools? Who will go witch hunting for some yeye "evidence" which may never even exist? Mtcheew

The guy could not answer simple question of how much? he is hiding something. they are receiving allowances where over 80% are living under $2 a day.

Why will "Constituency allowance" goes into senators personal account. That action is a pure fraud, Only their salary is meant to go into their account and no any other pay apart from their salary and other allowance which they are entitle to genuinely should go into that account. the account is in their personal name and not the name of their Constituency. The all process is fraudulent and must be change.

If its true that Dino said he will champion the pay cut and he actually do,I PRINCE will forgive him for betraying APC members during saraki sELEcTION. That shows he actually came to the senate to perform and is an agent of change.

Sanusi lamido Sanusi has disclosed to public that every blessing day a Nigerian senator is entitled to one million naira he further expressed that 25% of the annual budget is going to house of Representatives and the Senates every year and nobody among either the Senates or from the reps have criticized him for that matter, so nobody now can denied what he told Nigerians regarding what you earned. Remember that every member is receiving 10m as monthly salaries and 15m for every senator and is well known to every Nigerian please.
