The OP is merely diverting attention from his dullard President. The management of the economy falls on the executive who by the way is yet to appoint ministers to man ministries such as the Ministry of Finance. The fact remains that the Naira witnessed its greatest slide within Buhari's administration than any since independence. We should remind the useless tout OP that his President promised to stabilize international oil price by using the military and that the dullard illiterate also campaigned to make the Naira equal in trading value to the dullard. This is typical APC diversionary tactics where they still blame others for their gross ineptitude. 31 Likes 5 Shares |

freshdude99: I am more disappointed in you. Why must Nigeria always be compared with the failures of the world. I checked countries with oil as their main stay like you suggested and I see Iran Tunisia Kuwait Qatar Suadi Arabia Mexico and many more. Why is it that you PDP supporter derive joy in celebrating failure in whatever form it suit you for this country. For God sake what is actually wrong with the brain of all of you ? Why did Nigeria economy not fail during the drop in oil prices under Obasanjo and economy of Greece Italy France UK all collapsed like pack of cards. Are you cursed beyond seeing this country succeed ? 17 Likes 1 Share |

freshdude99: Have you also noted how the currency of oil producing countries appreciated between 2010-2014 when oil prices averaged over 100 dollars per barrel? Why didn't the Naira appreciate during this period? That's the question every smart thinking Nigerian should be asking? 9 Likes |

Babe,I honestly think Economics ain't your thing. for your info, the ban on toothpick importation was first proposed by Soludo, but unfortunately he wasn't able to actualize it. How can we be fvcking importing toothpicks.... Toothpicks.... That tiny piece of wood we use to pick our teeth... Toothpicks... Its appalling....Men.... I dislike the CBN govt for just waking up from his slumber when election results were announced. But calling a spade a spade that's a good move, next we should ban the importation of rice and other products that can be locally produced. Chinese Local textiles etc etc... Baby industries cannot compete with these imported products, the cost of production in this countries is more favorable than Nigeria, hence the selling price is lower than local industries can for now afford to sell. Only when importation is banned and long term low interest loans given to intending SMEs would our competitive market expand. So my dear, stopping calling for the governor's resignation simply because you read it somewhere. Understand the story, facts and figures... 26 Likes 4 Shares |

It's a fact that there many dead woods from the previous government still occupying their positions in need of a instant sack. But Mr. President needs to at least have a temporary coordinators for this positions till they are confirmed or changed. I'm sorry to say this, Jonathan loyalist are still running this government more than a month after. It's quite a shame. 3 Likes |

The CBN's faulty monetary policies are designed to make the banks rich, and the people poor. And, this CBN governor is there to make sure of that. Other countries exchange rates have since appreciated with 'rising oil prices' from $43 earlier this year, to $60-$65 now -- even the Rouble with all the sanctions. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Where exactly do you stand? Your essay is a little contradictory... You seem to be strongly against naira devaluation and at the same time, strongly in support of those that kick against the CBN's policies in defending the value of naira. NgeneUkwenu: 6 Likes |

I know the people behind this article are the same dudes in BlackStone who recently appointed Sanusi as their regional representative in Africa. The aim of this useless write up is to ridicule the CBN's effort at curtailing imports which account for much of the forex demand. No where in the article did the writer post an alternative rather the author mocked the banning of non essential items and went on to declare that we as a nation are not capable of feeding ourselves and so the need to maintain rice and sardine imports plus the very neccessary toothpicks. This write up should serve as an opener to those of discerning minds of how the west wants to treat us as a dumping ground for their products. The OP of course is another illiterate Taju posting out of Osogbo who neither understands what he just posted but is merely doing the job he was paid to circulate smear campaign. As long as we have people like OP and his legion of daft APC Buharist zombies then know that this country can never ever rise above its many problems. 12 Likes 2 Shares |
