It is of general note that there's always massive migration to more economical viable location; reasons for the massive immigration of Africans into Europe/America *now Asia and Aussies.

Despite all the assertion you've made, the ibos keeps throbbing those region(N&W) as there's also indication of massive immigration from the eastern region to the North and the West in search of what *Supremacy?* or greener pasture from a region that you more advance/educated than.

*Imp, It should be other way around*

My question now is what went wrong with the Alaigbo/Ndigbo Nation? Why the wandering spirit and neglect of it intellect people and advance hospitality region?

Kindly please educate us.

Thank you.
This is self explanatory isn't it? The war set the Igbo tribes back obviously. This, coupled with subsequent marginalisations after the war meant they were always going to play a catch up.

Op @ Lovesdaisied Can you put 'viewers discretion' warning on your title to warn people of the morbid picture of the king. A bit disturbing.

Paul Anber's essay "Modernization and Political Disintegration: Nigeria and the Ibos" published in the journal of Modern African Studies vol. 5, No 2 (Sep, 1967) 163-179. See pp 171-172 for excerpt:
" '' A system of Universal primary education was introduced in Eastern Nigeria in 1953, though the mission schools had already prospered in the Region long before then. Despite the fact that there was a requirement for limited contributory fees, education continued to be very much in demand. Even at the time when universal primary education was first introduced, the percentage of the population over seven years of age who were literate was higher in the East than in any other Region: East, 10.6 per cent; West 9.5 percent; North, 0.9 percent. Since 1959, the East has had more teachers and pupils than any other area of the country, with the heaviest emphasis on primary education. Figures for elementary and secondary education indicate that the approximate ratio of teachers to population in 1963 was 1 to every 1,500 in the East, 1 to every 2,500 in th West, and 1 for every 10,000 in the north. Other statistical data reveal how rapidly the standard of living rose among Ibos. The East had the most extensive hospital facilities in the country by 1965, the largest regional production of electricity in the country by 1954, and the greatest number of vehicle registrations by 1963.The economic orientation of the Ibos was also reflected through membership of credit associations:in 1963 the East had 68,220 individual members, the west 5,776, and the north a mere 2,407." ''... His source was the Annual Abstract of Statistics ( Federal Office of Statistics, Lagos, 1965)

The civil war cost us a lot.

Smh for you. Mentioning Lalasticlala at anytime doesn't set off his phone alarm and therefore doesn't disturb his sleep. He can only see the mentions when he's awake and logged on to nairaland.

As for the part in bold, if you wanted God to bless Igbo land, you wouldn't have campaigned for a man that hates Ndigbo with passion.

Onitsha my city. The city has always been a vibrant one right from its early days.See how organized and pristine the whole place was looking in the early 60's. Thank God Gov Obiano is gradually restoring the city to a more inhabitable one. Onitsha amaka.

Why don't you ask the strangers and the average host how are they faring in West.

Strangers and hosts in East how are they faring.

Strangers and hosts in North how are they faring

Economy of East is 90 percent in the hands of Easterners but those that couldn't compete will move out and look for less competitive grounds to till.
When the British, Portuguese, German, Spanish were partitioning Africa were they doing it because they were miserable, now Chinese are mining golds in Northern Nigeria.

Stop thinking that Western Nigeria is where igbos are, there are many igbos in West, East and Central Africa taking advantage of those economies where they are lagging behind.

Migration is not fuel by poverty

IsraeliAIRFORCE:
They were all bombed and purposefully reversed to Stone age.

Their policy? Bomb everything standing and when it seems that couldn't win the war, they decided to commit genocide by bombing everything that moves and applying international embargo on food stuffs while still air raiding and combing the remotest settlements in the region on daily basis.

Eastern Nigeria shall rise again. The days when the FG policy of underdeveloping the region was working has started crumbling.

Sooner than later, busy international maritime activities will abound in the region with many busy functional international Airports.

The days of unmitigated emigration will soon be over.

This thread was meant to celebrate una rich heritage but you can't just hold yourself back but to do what you know how to do best

Nwanne most of them are just ignorant lots. Your 1st, 2nd and 3rd paragraphs are sucker punch. They need to think deeply about that and find out why Igbos out-excel them even on their own soil. LOL

Igboland will be great once again. When we have learnt our lessons fully then the invincible hand of the righteous one will bring succour to us and He will strike terror in the hearts of our enemies such that confusion will be their lot and all their plots and snares will fail. According to the time of life so shall it be. The current gang-up against us can never last for ever. By His grace I shall see the day it elapses.

gone are the days when our Igbo women dressed like this. I remember my mum dress like this in the 1980's in a photoshoot I had with her when I was a baby.

The elegant Haulk suspension bridge spanning Nkisi Stream was built by the newly-established Colonial Government early in the 20th century, to link the Onitsha Marina Road with more remote portions of the government preserve. Beyond it downstream the Marine Offices and the Public Works Department (PWD) headquarters are visible.

what went wrong was after the civil war all eastern region monies were seize given them £20 no matter how much millions you might have banked with Nigerian bank, NOTE all seaports and airports were blocked which made lagos port to strive, then business men had no option to move to lagos and kano where they believe goods are entering easily..it was a war of aggression.
