But why did you want someone under remote control to continue leading Nigeria? Thank us for doing the right thing and pushing him out, we did it for Nigeria
and what has the man controlling himself done apart from traveling and taking pictures.
He promised to crush boko haram in two months, and now he is begging them with amnesty. Only a coward does that

The gods know that I have repeatedly warned him about the lasting effects of zealotry. grin
Has he be listening? I am afraid not.

How anyone can hope to emerge from Jonathan's cult of personality by skipping the mandatory 'cold turkey' phase is, quite frankly, beyond me. LoL.

I honestly don't even know if it's zealotry - or a mixture of cognitive dissonance and the need to always feign ignorance. However, no matter how we slice it...I believe it is a well orchestrated agenda to deflect blame from certain folks in a deceitful way - since it is quite easy to bamboozle Nigerians.

I don't know how the only thing he picked out of a message that's right on the money - and make it about one woman, when it is about everything the plagued that administration. Utterly shameful.

Anyway, the new government will stop doing things on the pages of the newspapers and get the ball rolling cos the more time they waste - the more difficult it will be to prosecute these folks and return the looted money.

many will miss the most important accusation in this interview

Facism. That word perfectly describes Jonathan's government and I described the government like that a couple of times last year.

Under fascism, the state, through official cartels, controlled all aspects of manufacturing, commerce, finance, and agriculture. Planning boards set product lines, production levels, prices, wages, working conditions, and the size of firms. Licensing was ubiquitous; no economic activity could be undertaken without government permission. The consequent burdening of manufacturers gave advantages to foreign firms wishing to export. Fascism was thus incompatible with peace and the international division of labor

Fascism embodied corporatism, in which political representation was based on trade and industry rather than on geography. The government cartelized firms of the same industry, with representatives of labor and management serving on myriad local, regional, and national boards—subject always to the final authority of the dictator’s economic plan.

Fascism? Really? You may want to look up the word in a dictionary first cos it DEFINITELY DOESN'T NOT describe GEJ'S administration.

Goodluck Jonathan was an extremely incompetent president. I honestly think he's a nice man but he is not a leader, he is easily intimidated and folds under pressure. He is not Igbo, he is Ijaw. The whole nigeria voted him in 2011 and voted him out in 2015 due to poor performance. Tribalism had nothing to do with it.
His wife was a village champion who opened her mouth when it'd have served purpose to keep it shut. The 'diaris god o' incident was extremely embarrassing to every Nigerian and her unfortunate vocabulary is what nightmares are made of. Under GEJ's leadership a lot of nonsense happened that would not have happened if he was a capable president.
When GEJ became president in 2010 after yar'adua's death, boko haram was not a serious matter. It blossomed greatly due to this buffoon's nonchalance and slowness to act. Now he has left the mess he allowed to happen for GMB to clean up. Then the avid GEJ fan club began pointing fingers at GMB and blaming boko haram on him.
My question is even if someone started bokoharam, why didn't jona do something about it, why didn't he nip it in the bud early? Boko haram would not have prospered if it was OBJ, he would have done the dirty work involved and terminated them before their name even crossed borders. That's what ppl in power do, they get their hands dirty so citizens can get some sleep at night. But Jonathan slept while his citizens bled and got raped by terrorists.
Ndi igbo are angry because they kicked Jona out but let me tell you, that's only the uneducated ones. Most igbos who actually are logical disliked GEJ cos that man used igbos who are hardcore refined extreme tribalists, the onye-nkem syndrome is too strong in them and GEJ knew and kept cashing in on that to lure them in and sub-consciously brain washing them into seeing him as one of them knowing that if he got them on his side, they'd stand with him no matter how stupidly he performs cos he's "Ebele" afterall, tell me isn't that promoting tribalism? He installed a very us against them mindset in Ndi-igbo during his regime and they drank it in whole. That's why they're talking about biafra again with such intensity all of a sudden cos they believe "Nigeria" the enemy has removed "Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan" their christian Igbo brother.
Goodluck said corruption is not stealing, Goodluck when talking about the Nyanya bombing incident said "Nigerians have survived worse ordeals and we'll get over it", Goodluck never recovered those Chibok girls that the whole world campaigned for, There was a black-out a certain night in Murtala Mohammed airport under Goodluck's rule. So many red lights about this man's administration.
Yes, some Igbos voted Buhari, no! we are not muslim, I'm atheist even and no! Buhari did not beg us with rice. Hell, some Ijaws voted for Buhari. We just got fed up of nonsense and embarrassment and voted him out. I utterly detest GEJ's administration. I boarded a 22hr flight to Nigeria just to vote for GEJ in 2011 cos I had such faith in him and I boarded the same 22hr flight to Nigeria again in 2015 to vote him out cos I lost faith in him. So tribalism did not chase GEJ away, his poor performance and epic weakness did. Goodbye Jona and Goodbye Mama Piss, We don't miss you. Wole Soyinka is spot-on right.

He (jonathan ) was president of nigeria in error. He wasn't fit or qualified to be president. His reign in the country was calamitous with corruption on a longitudinal decay. He must be probed and sent to jail. A weak president controlled by women and does not know what was happening in his govt.

The only thing I deduced from this thread is Prof. Soyinka's deep seated hatred for Mrs Patience Jonathan (Mama Peace).

If what Mrs Jonathan did is repeated today by Mrs Aisha Buhari, nobody will take it personal nor run it in the media like the North-Southwest print and online media coalition and "allied forces".

When Mrs Aisha was alleged to have called Edo ladies "Pros.titute", Prof raised no voice then nor will he today because Mrs Aisha Buhari will never be his target.

Even with Mrs Remi Tinubu's overbearing attention in the Senate, she is still protected by the media.

Poor Goodluck Jonathan, poor south-South Minority.

You are just a useless tribal bigot. I am from.Edo state and Aisha never called Edo ladies prostitute. Everyone living im Nigeria actually knows that our women in my state are neck deep into prostitution both home and abroad and even at that, aisha didn't call them prostitutes. You better wake up from your foolish tribal sentiments or you will die young. E-diot!

No President with the enormous power at his disposal should be held captive by his minions. Such a President is a man with no strength of character. Someone who supervised the plundering of an economy to the detriment of the masses is neither a good man nor a competent leader. Naivety and low self-esteem are easily camouflaged as humility. GEJ is a dunce.
