Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 Men’s football team, Emmanuel Amuneke has said the foreign based players invited to the team must adjust to the conditions of camping but insists much of the work has been with the quality available.


Nigeria is preparing for the first leg of the 2017 Afcon U-20 qualifier against Burundi and the coach stressed he has been working with a few foreign players while more are expected in much later.


The Flying Eagles coach mentioned that two more players will join the team but he remains committed to giving opportunities only to players who will add value to his current squad.

End of season is near, so soon foreign based players would be available. All we need is the best of our players at this age grade level whether locally based or foreign based, Nigerian born or Europe born.

And please don't apply favoritisms to your team selection by giving preference to your 2015 U17 boys. We need the best available players conditionally or unconditionally.

Manchester City defender Tosin [b]Adarabioyo has reflected on his debut against Chelsea in the FA Cup back in February, saying it has been his proudest moment in a City shirt.


The England youth international was named Man of the Match by the City fans after the game at Stamford Bridge even though the defense leaked five goals, with coach Manuel Pellegrini resting several first-teamers ahead of the Champions League tie with Dynamo Kiev.


“I played a game with the first-team and that was an amazing experience to make my debut against the champions – I’m really proud, ” Tosin Adarabioyo told City’s official website, mcfc.co.uk.


“It was a bad result but it was good to hear their support after the game.”

The Flying Eagles will meet Nigeria National League side Kaduna United on Wednesday afternoon as part of their build-up for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations qualifiers against Burundi, with the game scheduled to start at 1600 hours at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja.


Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that a list of 18 players, that is the eleven youngsters that will start the game against the East Africans and seven subs, has been submitted to the Confederation of African Football.


Thus, suggestions in the media that coach Emmanuel Amuneke will call up two more players to join the squad before the qualifiers against Burundi are incorrect.


The former Zamalek and Barcelona winger had already invited defender Lukman Zakari and planned to call up an unnamed player based in the Italian Serie B after he was recommended by his scouting team but later jettisoned the idea.

Burundi will host Nigeria in the first leg of the second round 2017 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier on Saturday, May 21.

When ever I see this Kelechi Nwakali, I see a legend in the making. His performance against Mali at last U17 final can't just go off my mind. Men.. the way he dispossessed the opposition and initiated counter attacks. Midfielders like that only come to Nigeria once in a decade.

He is still learning from likes of Santi Carzola, Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey, Mohammed Elneny and co.

For me,he is even been underrated by us,do u think that FIFA is stupid to have awarded him the MVP with just three set pieces goals ahead of a player with 10 goals and two assists,no,when last have we seen a midfielder like this in Nigeria,Nwakali is the first of his kind,a tripeptide midfield maestro. I rate Nwakali higher than all our current midfielders, Iheanacho,a great player but he need to start practicing how to score free kicks to be among the elites players, I can't wait to see when these 2 KKs will lead our new golden generations,one attacking weapon and one midfield general

Spot on bro. Recall I said players with such abilities come around once in a decade: Okocha came around in the 1990s, Mikel came around in 2000s and K.Nwakali has come around in 2010s.

I am usually conservative when rating young players. I didn't even rate Iheanacho this highly but this K. Nwakali is such an exceptional player.
In him Nigeria and Arsenal have a great asset.
