AMUNEKE WIN U20 WORLD CUP AND LEAD
EAGLES - GREEN

NFF technical committee boss Chris Green has made a bold statement by saying Emmanuel Amuneke would be considered for the Super Eagles top post should he win the U20 World Cup.

Nigeria have not won the FIFA U20 World Cup despite coming close in 1989 and 2005. Green has now said Amuneke could stake a strong claim for the country’s top coaching post should he make history next year with the Flying Eagles after he led the U17s to World Cup glory in 2015.

“He has already won the U17 World Cup and has now been taken up to the U20s with his boys. And should he now deliver again, he could take over the U23s or even the Super Eagles,” declared Green.

Coach Samson Siasia was considered for the Super
Eagles post after his exploits with both the Flying
Eagles and the country's Olympic team.

Confirmed: Arsenal close in on wonderkid pair after London meeting

By Arsenal correspondent Tony Hughes| Premier League expert with experience of breaking big stories, including exclusives like this

Nigerian teenage pair Samuel Chukwueze and Kelechi Nwakali are set to complete transfers to Arsenal, according to their club.

The young midfielders have visited Arsenal’s headquarters for talks as part of a £4million double deal and have undergone medical tests.

Football Insider revealed last month that Arsenal’s swoop for Nwakali and and teenage countryman Samuel Chukwueze was ’99 per cent done’ after a fee was agreed with the Diamond academy in Nigeria.

Reports in Nigeria claimed last week the deals could be derailed but the academy’s legal consultant Johnny Precious Ogbah has insisted the transfers should be completed soon following recent negotiations.

“My clients are trying to cross every T and dot every I to ensure they get the best deal for the players and for the academy and everything went smoothly,” he told the Daily Nation. “Dick Law the Arsenal director of football assured us even before we travelled that there would be no trials and there wasn’t any.

“Both deals are in place and progressing positively but like I said, Diamond Football Academy are in no hurry as they want to ensure their players’ welfare and other important matters are well sorted out before the deal is concluded.”

Uncut diamond: Nwakali is regarded as very exciting by his new club

Arsenal were among a number of leading European clubs who scouted Nwakali and Chukwueze in last year’s Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile.

Nwakali, 17, was named as player of the tournament, while Chukwueze, 16, also delivered a series of promising displays and scored three goals for Nigerian from midfield.

Exclusive : Samuel Chukwueze Returns To Nigeria After Arsenal Trip

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that English Premier League club Arsenal have not given up hope of signing Nigeria U17 international Samuel Chukwueze from Diamond Academy.

The 16-year-old winger has returned to his homeland after visiting London to be shown around the facilities at Arsenal.

However, it can be confirmed that Samuel Chukwueze, who was accompanied by his mother on the trip to N7 7AJ, did not sign a preliminary contract with Arsenal.

Chukwueze’s mother has made it crystal clear that she wants her son to begin his professional career with the Gunners, which contributed to the player snubbing Red Bull Salzburg in favour of a move to the Emirates.

A move to Arsenal is still on the cards as the Golden Eaglets star and his entourage are expected to return to the United Kingdom in the coming days to conclude talks with the Londoners.

Liverpool Rising Star Ovie Ejaria Suffers Heartbreak On Return To Emirates

Arsenal have set up a meeting with Manchester City in the semifinals of the FA Youth Cup following their 2-1 win against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Friday night.

Though he is eligible to represent the Arsenal U18s, England U17 international Tolaji Bola did not make the team sheet.

As for Liverpool, former Golden Eaglets trainee Ovie Ejaria made the starting lineup while Holland youth international Bobby Adekanye, who has struggled with injuries this season, was not among the traveling party.

Ovie Ejaria was lively throughout the contest and had a good chance to give Liverpool the lead in the 14th minute but his shot in the 18-yard box went over the bar.

The Anglo-Nigerian spent close to seven years at Arsenal before he transferred to Liverpool in 2014.

Stephy Mavididi and Kaylen Hinds were on target for the Arsenal U18s while Masterson struck for the visitors.

Amuneke to drop Osimhen, Nwakali, Chukwueze

Victor Osimhen

Recently appointed head coach of the Nigeria U-20, Emmanuel Amuneke won’t call up the trio of Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Nwakali and Samuel Chukwueze when he announces his first set of call up to the U-20 next week.

The Flying Eagles coach from scoop gathered by owngoalnigeria.com will leave out the trio to help them focus on their club careers after their recent transfers but might subsequently call them up in the future.

We gathered he will instead call up players from his last all conquering U-17 side who are still clubless to help keep them in shape before qualifiers for the next Africa youth championship begins later in the year.

Captain of Nigeria U-17 team to the last World Cup, Kelechi Nwakali has already penned a five-year deal with Arsenal while Chukwueze is expected to do same in the coming days.

Team’s topscorer, Osimhen is presently in Germany although not eligible to play for his new side, Wolfsburg he has been training with their B team but trains twice in a week with the main team of the Bundesliga side.

EXCLUSIVE: BARCELONA REIGNITE INTEREST IN ROMA’S NURA ABDULLAHI

AS Roma Nigeria teen fullback Nura Abdullahi who is on loan from Serie B side Spezia might secure a shock move to Spanish giants Barcelona in the summer.

18 year old Nura who recently returned form a minor heart ailment was a subject of inquiry from Barcelona after the teen prospect caught the eyes of their scout in a UEFA youth league game.

They were thoughts of an instant bid for the full back but the heart ailment that kept him out for three months reportedly caused a halt to the move.

However owngoalnigeria.com can authoritatively report that contacts was yesterday made between his camp and that of the Blaugrana who are trying to use his lack of first team opportunities at AS Roma to lure him.

Roma on their part are not willing to entertain any bid for his service as we gathered they view him as the heir to their right full back spot in the team and are willing to make his transfer permanent in the summer.

So far he has made the match day squad for the Rome based side four times since his return to competitive football but has been very impressive for their B team in the Primavera league as well as in the UEFA Youth League.

This guy and Sadiq Umar @As Roma on loan from Spezia are true world elite prospects.

He's made the AS Roma senior bench a couple of times especially under former coach, Rudi Garcia before Luciano Spalletti came in as AS Roma current manager.

Not much attention is usually paid to rising defensive talents though the "very exceptional" prospects still catches the eye e.g. Chiedozie Awaziem of FC Porto.

There are still other super defensive talents still "hidden" and "unknown" but their rise continues on a very grand high-class scale. Nura falls into this category.... Not much media attention but watch out for this lad. He's a future world class star in defence @Right back.

Na wa oooo..... Nigeria don dey see rise of Fine and talented right-back prospects from U-17 to U-23 levels....

Check them out (Nigeria's future right-back options):

-John Lazarus
-Kingsley Ehizibue
-Sincere Seth
-Tyrone Ebuehi
-Godswill Elohor Ekpolor
-Musa Mohammed (Can also play CB)
-Nura Abdullahi
-Ola Aina
-Dominic Iorfa Jnr. (Can also play CB)
-Moses Odubajo
- **and any other(s) that could still rise** #smiles

Nigeria's future left-back options aren't really much but we do have some quality prospects fast-rising.

EXCLUSIVE: LIVERPOOL PLAN TO LOAN NIGERIA U-17 TRIALIST TO BELGIAN SIDE

According to report exclusively gathered by owngoalnigeria.com, English Premiership side Liverpool have put plans in place to loan out four Nigeria players if they scale through trials.

The quartet of Jacob Njoku,Suleiman Abdullahi,Ejike Chidera and Ezeh Charles Chinedu will most likely join Belgium side Sint Truidense VV if they succeed in the trials they are set to undergo with the team.

We gathered Sint Truidense now have a working relationship with Liverpool in area of player exchange and the four Nigerians who are not eligible for work permit will be loaned out immediately after trials.

However the youngest of them will reportedly be given scholarship to study in the UK and also train with their U-18 but all of this is subject to them passing in the trials fixed for later in the month.

Already they have all secured visa to travel to the United Kingdom but a date for their trip is yet to be known hence the players managed by respected Nigeria agent Babawo Mohammed are still in Nigeria.

Kudos to this "Babawo Mohammed". He seems to have a big hand in the management of several of Nigeria's top young stars. He also manages Chiedozie Awaziem, Musa Yahaya, among other few prominent youngsters.

He's a super soccer agent in Nigerian football. Akin to who Jorge Mendes is in world and European football.

Meanwhile, all the best to lads......#smiles.

Jacob Njoku used to be under FC Porto's radar. A very exciting talent. Wonder why he left Porto.

Suleiman Abdullahi was that exciting midfielder at the Caf U-17 Afcon 2015.

Chidera Ejike (touted as the "Next" musa yahaya in the mould of an iniesta) was part of Amuneke's 2015 U-17 class but did not make the tournament squad for the world cup. He joined Amuneke's U-17 after the U-17 Afcon in Niger republic.

Charles Chinedu wore the no.11 jersey for Nigeria at Niger 2015 Caf u-17 Afcon. A good and talented lad.

I wish them all the very best..... Hopefully, they get good deals.

TOSIN KEHINDE MAKING RAPID PROGRESS AT MANCHESTER UNITED

Lagos born 18 year old Nigeria midfielder Tosin Kehinde might be the next one to follow in the steps of youngsters making their breakthrough at Old Trafford under manager Louis Van Gaal at English giant Manchester United.

At home as a holding midfielder, Kehinde is an enterprising prodigy with bags of potential that saw him made his debut for the U-21 at the age of 16.

As a school boy the Nigerian has Premier Cup experience after rising through the ranks at Manchester United and already has four starts and a substitute appearance for Paul McGuiness Under-18 team as a school boy.

An astute passer with plenty of positional sense, he missed the 2014/15 season due to problems with his back earning praise from Academy adviser Les Kershaw.

“He’s a talented player and a really nice lad” He told the club official website.

Yesterday while Adnan Januzaj stole the headline with his brace for the U-21 in their 4-0 win against Oldham FC the Nigerian came in as a 54th minute substitute and Old Trafford are already tipping him to join the team’s pre season tour in the summer.

OJO BAGS HATTRICK FOR LIVERPOOL PUT HIMSELF IN FRAME TO FACE MAN. UNITED

Liverpool forward Sheyi Ojo is doing his chances of facing Manchester United in the Europa league a whole lot of good after scoring a hattrick for the U-21 against Middlesbrough last night.

The manner in which he grabbed his treble against the U-21 team of Boro will certainly put him in the frame to face Manchester United on Thursday in the Europa League as manager Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of the 18 year old.

However if the striker who achieved his hattrick with a stunning solo goal doesn’t get to play in the Europa league on Thursday, he is assured of a starting spot when the U-21 tackle Man United at Prenton Park on Friday.

Ojo who has three senior team appearances under his belt with a goal to his name in the cup was recently recalled from a loan spell at Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers by manager Jurgen Klopp.

However since featuring in the FA cup replay loss to West Ham United he hasn’t appeared in the senior team no thanks to the return to fitness of Daniel Sturridge,Divock Origi and Christian Benteke.

AS Roma Turn Down Barcelona’s Bid For Nigerian Youngster, Abdullahi

Italian side, AS Roma have rejected a bid in the region of €10m from Barcelona for Nigerian youngster, Nura Abdullahi, Completesportsnigeria.

The 18 year old impressed Barcelona scouts in the UEFA Youth League this season and a move to the European champions seems inevitable.

It was earlier speculated that Barcelona cooled their interest after an inflammation was discovered in his heart.

Italian publication, Corrierre dello Sport however has reported that the Rome- based side have rejected moves by the Nou Camp outfit to sign the forward.
Abdullahi is on loan at Roma from Serie B side, Spezia.

Roma are looking to make the deal permanent following a string of impressive performances by the teen star for the AS Roma B Team.

Actually, the super talented Nura Abdullahi is yet to make his AS Roma senior debut. It's Sadiq Umar who has scored for Roma's Senior side (twice in fact).

Nura is highly-rated and said to be faster than Hector Bellerin of Arsenal FC at Right Back. He's a huge potential who will get his chance with Nigeria. Hopefully he makes the U-20s ahead of the 2017 CAF U-20 Afcon (AYC) and 2017 Fifa U-20 WC.

Interestingly this means he'll compete with John Lazarus (another exciting R.B. Super talent) for first-choice right back. Whoever loses out will be 2nd choice. #smiles

BlackPikiN:

Hope He gets recognized by the national coach. He's scored a goal for the senior side of Roma.

FASTER THAN HECTOR BELLERIN OF ARSENAL, WHO IS BARCELONA TARGET NURA ABDULLAHI?

AS Roma reportedly rejected a bid of €10m from Barcelona for teen star Nura Abdullahi who is rated as the fastest teen in European football right now.

Owngoalnigeria.com in it’s usual style bring to you ten things you need to know about the 18 year old who is presently on loan to AS Roma from Serie B side Spezia.

1. He was born in Kaduna State, Nigeria on the 17th of August 1997.

2. Started his career with Future of Africa Football Academy in Kaduna before moving to Football Academy Abuja.

3. He was spotted by Serie B side Spezia two and half years ago when he followed Football Academy Abuja to Italy for a youth tournament.

4. In his first season with the Primavera side of Roma he picked up 12 assists and scored 7 times.

5. At the age of 16 he made the bench twice for Spezia in the Serie B but never got to make his debut.

6. He caught the attention of AS Roma during a Primavera cup game last season and they snapped him up alongside his childhood friend Sadiq Umar.

7. AS Roma presently have an option of buying him permanently at the end of the season and they are reportedly set to exercise the option.

8. He has so far made the bench 5 times for the main team of AS Roma but is yet to make his debut for the main team no thanks to a heart defect he suffered last year.

9. So far he has made 9 appearances for the Primavera side in the league with 3 goals to his name while he has scored once in 7 games in the UEFA youth league.

10. Despite being a full back he can also play as a right winger or midfielder and as a defender his caution record reads one yellow card in over 50 games.

BOLA ON TARGET FOR ARSENAL U-21 AGAINST FULHAM

Arsenal Under -21s maintained their unbeaten run with a 3-0 spanking of Fulham in yesterday U-21 game with Anglo Nigerian Marc Bola grabbing a goal.

The victory extended Arsenal Under-21s unbeaten run to seven game and for Bola his first goal with the U-21 is one that will remain ever green in his memory.

Bola surged forward from his left full back role to smash home a spectacular 25 yard strike which nestled into the net of Fulham to give Arsenal a 2-0 lead.

Aside the goal his already round display was a beauty as he got his side out of jail on two occassion with his incredible pace and neat but hard tackles.

He is heavily tipped to be a part of the club pre season tour next summer as he aims to follow in the footsteps of other Nigerians who have turn out for the gunners in the past.

Presently Alex Iwobi is the only Nigerian in the first team of Arsenal with Bola and Chuba Akpom highly favoured to join him next season base on their performance.

SADIQ UMAR,NURA ABDULLAHI FAIL TO SAVE ROMA FROM UEFA YOUTH LEAGUE ELIMINATION

Nigeria duo of Sadiq Umar and Nura Abdullahi suffered UEFA youth disappointment with the B team of AS Roma losing 3-1 to PSG to crash out in the quarter-finals.

Sadiq failed to add to his tally of 5 goals while Nura was part of a defence line that conceded three times as they both failed to inspire their side.

Both players will however take solace in the fact that there loan deal at the Serie A side will reportedly be turned into a permanent deal in the summer as Roma are ready to trigger their right of having the first option of buying the duo.

Nura heavily linked with a move to Barcelona is yet to make his first team debut but might get it as early as next week due to the injury to Antonio Rudiger while Sadiq has grown into a fan favourite.

The lanky forward called Jololo by friends and close associates has two goals from 7 first team appearances but has found games hard to come by since Rudi Garcia was replaced by Luciano Spalleti.

Or we convert one to a winger.

Yeah..... #smiles. You know I was just about coming to that..... After I logged out, the thought hit me.

Nura Abdullahi could be the Right-winger with Lazarus behind him. Mehn!!! If that works, we could have a very deadly right channel of attack for our U-20s depending on the formation employed which can accomodate both players.

I trust Amuneke will utilise these talents well. They're both great potentials.

I believe so. I can not wait for the final list when he picks some of his U17 boys, some Coach Garba's boys and other pros from clubs home and abroad.

Mehn that would be tight.

If Nuru is faster than Bellerin, then the kid is a big prospect.

So where do we put Samuel Chukwueze?

If the guy is better than John Lazarus or vice versa no big deal in one of the two sitting on the bench.

Chukwueze also came to my mind before I made the statement. If Nura will make a better winger than Chukwueze, Chukwueze benches. May the best man win.

Let Nura and Lazarus be our 2 right back options and let Chukwueze do his usually damage from d wing.
