Daily Post reports that the militant group had attacked the convoy at a town along Bama/Konduga axis.

A source said that the soldiers were traveling in a convoy of 3 Hilux cars when the insurgents appeared and opened fire.

While some Boko Haram fighters were killed, a number of the troops received serious wounds as the militants were believed to have outnumbered them.

The dead Lt. Col., who was one of those with serious wounds, gave up the ghost after battling for his life.The others soldiers are currently receiving medical treatment.

Sad..soldiers should never proceed on any movement in the war torn area without air support or getting the required air support within minutes of coming under an attack. The service chiefs need to come together and come up with a holistic plan to put an end to this madness once and for all. Proceed carte blanch, carpet bomb sambisa,whatever it takes.
