Naijasinglegirl:
Early this year some guy tweeted he won’t cough more than fifty thousand naira for his wedding and Nigerian Twitter went hard on him.
Say what?
So many Nigerian couples have been engaged for more than fifteen years and the excuse is always FUNDS for a wedding ceremony!
I decided to make a list based on this budget and realised a 50K wedding is possible. I mean a proper wedding with a bridal train, cake, small chops, drinks, wine and jollof rice. You’ll even end up with N50 change by the time you are done.

This is getting serious smiley. Btw, you must cut your coat according to your cloth. You may decide to do morning mass wedding or better still a church blessing. The real marriage starts after the wedding with all pomps and pageantry lipsrsealed

Many of you do not realise that the actual joining of bride and groom was done traditionally by both parents and that is the one God recognises. All this white wedding and stuff is just a show. Traditionally both parents whom God gave the intended couple to as guardians have given their consent and thats all that matters.

Marriage is a whole new world of its own. White wedding is totally irrelevant so as far as I am concerned the bill for that is absolute zero.
Let me ask this very elementary question;

Can a white wedding hold without the traditional consent of both parents? NO

Can a traditional marriage hold without white wedding first being done? YES

Now tell me which is crucial and which isnt.

If you respect your guests, you won't give them disposable cups and cabin biscuits at the reception. It would be better if you told them, "bye" after the wedding proper. It's not by force to do 'reception'.

Disposable cups and cabin at a wedding reception? Is it touts you are entertaining?

Na wa oh.

Most of us forget that a wedding is simply for the bride & groom with two witnesses (one for each) plus the government-authorised official at the registry/mosque/church.
That makes FIVE people in total.
Anything else is additional based on what you can afford bearing in mind that there is the MARRIAGE that comes after the wedding!

I dont know why we place so much emphasies on the cost of wedding. Let me ask you, is the amount you spend on a wedding directly proportional to how blessed your married life would be?

Many people are after elaborate wedding for show-offs.
it does nt determine d love or success in the marriage.

Goodness gracious. Lwkmd. Then I do rather have just an engagement party and enter my husband house than all these embarrassments. Big weddings are sometimes waste of resources that could be channelled into something else. But if u have more than the money then why not?

Abi o just go to court with ur husband n then take them to a fast food or prepare jellof rice...simple
