I was just reading this post from a frustrated nairalander https://www.nairaland.com/2950490/power-failure-never-been-sad. So i said let me get pure water to cool off the heat and ghen ghen the woman says pure water is now N20. A bag is now N200

Abeg tell me wetin pure water get to do with dollar!

My brother i stay in lag too. I'm talking about Jakande Roundabout on Lekki -Epe Expressway. I dont wanna wail o, but this is becoming tough o.

Everyone goes back into the same inflated market regardless . . .

Now, to those clamouring for official devaluation, this is just a glimpse -- imagine official devaluation with increased pump price north of N130/litre -- una never see inflation; maybe that time 'pure water' will be N50/satchet.

BTW, satchet water and most plastic bottled water left in the sun, is toxic to health!

Some People are just trying to take advantage, look for the people that sell at 10. When people don't patronize those increasing prices even when dollars don't affect them ,they will be forced to reduce it back.

Where is your location in order to confirm the authenticity of your claim, a bag of sachet water is now #120 in most places (few are still selling it at the rate of #100) & #10 per sachet.

There is no light at the tunnel yet with the way things are going it will soon be N50 for a sachet of pure water.

The way this things are been increased astronomically is still what I can't comprehend.Almost everything have been increased by 80-100%.

The people are not selling the water. They sell the packaging materials. If you cannot pay, you may as well ask for rain or river water and leave satchet water alone, the boreholes and water treatment materials have imported components. Plastic pellets and extrusion machines are imported. The spare parts used by pure water companies are imported or do you have made in Nigeria now? Do not think "one-way", the effect of exchange rate is bigger than you thought. This is the CHANGE Buhari and Tinubu promised.

The raw materials used in manufacturing the pure water sachet and plastic bottle are imported. The price of which has doubled within a spate of 4 months due to foreign exchange scarcity when this is added to the electricity tarriff which has been inhumanly increased, the sharp increase in price is what you get. All these challenges are caused by this clueless, draconial, dictatorial and disorganised APC government.

u are right, i stil sell bag of water even cold one at 100 naira while 3 sachet for 20 naira, d truth stil remain that most nigerians are criminals

BECAUSE THE NYLON USED IN PACKAGING THE WATER IS A BY PRODUCT OF PETROL CHEMICAL, AS AT JANUARY FIRST 2016 A KILOGRAM OF LOW DENSITY POLYETHYLENE (LDPE) WAS SOLD FOR 480NAIRA BUT AS AT 23RD FEB IS BEEN SELL AT 900 PER KILOGRAM EXCLUDING THE PRINTING AND STILL GOING UP AS FAR AS almighty dollar IS GOING UP.
