banmee: Please stop being silly! By asking you for your "I.D", the Cop has already given you a reason for Stopping you.... even without you asking! That is good Policing. Now imagine if you were just taking a walk and he shouted "Lie down,..Lie down,...l say lie down.." I am sure the first word that will come out of your mouth is "Officer, WHY"? That is you asking for a "reason". It is natural.... except one has become a human being without any shred of Dignity...... which might be a reflections of one's position in the "food chain". 1 Like |

The monkey should thank whatever he worships because if he raises his voice to a new York cop over here, the last thing he will see is a flash of the barrel! He won't even live to be able to resist arrest! |

GeneralShepherd: All three countries are different in some ways but they all share the same mentality. This is why there is some sort of order in their society. I've lived in all three countries, so i'd know. Follow the rules, shut your mouth and you won't have a problem. |

MrAboki: Please dont bring IPAD or any form of tribalism into this. A Nigerian is a Nigerian and if he is being mal-treated, it's rubs-off on all of us. There is a time to be serious, everything is not tribalism-related jokes. 1 Like |

While I too quick to judge the incident,it is proper we first find out what exactly happened. The UK have their laws which once broken by anyone, instantly he/she would be arrested (with handcuffs) and taken to the station for further interrogations. This incidence involves a Nigerian who boarded a train without a ticket and while the officer was requesting he go on his knees for handcuffs, the Nigerian (typically stubborn in our character) resisted. The officers had no choice than to adopt force to get the stubborn man arrested. As soon as they get to the station, the Nigerian man is entitled to a lawyer before any further interrogation......SIMPLE. If he has calmly obeyed before complaining by asking "why treating me as a criminal?" ,such scenario would have been avoided. After reading this and you would be interested to know what I and other fellow Nigerians are doing for extra income comfortably, click on the link in my signature and follow the instructions. Thanks. |

Re: UK Officials Manhandle A Nigerian Today by banmee(m): 3:22pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
Excuzeme: What is this one talking about? No policeman in a normal society will just come to you and shout lie down for no apparent reason. And sometimes they do stop people at random. It called "random inspections" Haven't you ever been stopped and searched before if you were driving a vehicle? Will you refuse to stop or refuse your vehicle being searched? You think this is Nigeria? This is why they have a somewhat safe and livable society. You shut your mouth and do what you are told when a policeman tells you to do something. It takes all of five minutes and you are on your way. |

obailala: You say 'all because"? Do you know what would happen if all commuters on the London transport system don't pay for their trips? Those that pay are neither fools nor cowards. I'm not in support of unnecessary harassment, however we Nigerians seem addicted to impunity, and I've come across Nigerians that consistently employ all sorts of tricks to avoid paying for their train tickets. All of this of course is based on your premise that he was arrested as a result of an unpaid fare. We need to learn to obey laws. |

bittertruthz: Do you people even pondr a second an try to understand what "an arrest" is... then join it with "resisting"? otherwise this sort of thrash wont be coming out from your brains. Just because he is a Nigerian, he must be treated like a Dog....and it is okay? I just showed this to a few white friends and the common thing they are all asking ... is the same question the guy was asking: WHY! WHY !! WHY!! I went further to ask them if they would have the temerity to ask an officer "Why, what have l done"?... if he asks them to lie down in public? -One said its my fundamental human right to be treated with dignity, l will sue -Another said, If he can tell me why he wants to embarrass me in public, then he will have to "invite me" to the Precinct and l will oblige. He added, l can see any weapon the guy is holding or how he is a threat to "public peace" that cutting him such coutesy will harm the Police men or the Public! -Another said "I will complain about this issue and request for more information, using Freedom of Information Act (their own version of our own FOI Law) So, for three "white people", non agreed the man should be treated this way! but it is our own black brothers that are shouting "he deserves it, he should have rolled on the floor as directed". Re: UK Officials Manhandle A Nigerian Today by ttmacoy: 3:34pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
Don't mind MIPNIG. The guy clearly didn't want to be handcuffed and that is resisting arrest simple. The re is a process to follow and if he feels he is innocent then he obeys the police, follows due process, get a lawyer and defend yourself. People saying this cannot happen in Nigeria are just jokers. Have they forgotten the video of cadets who beat a guy? Or is the way Nigerian police fight with people everyday for money that we have forgotten. xp17: |
Re: UK Officials Manhandle A Nigerian Today by planetx: 3:34pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
The guy was clearly resisting arrest, so the use of force was justified. UK police are too nice, American cops would have body slammed him onto the ground or use stun gun on him. Claiming rights in another man's land that he doesn't have in his own country. They should deport his b lack as.s. |
Re: UK Officials Manhandle A Nigerian Today by ttmacoy: 3:38pm On Mar 10, 2016 |
How is it racism? Why do you guys shout racism at every opportunity? Do you really know what racism means or are you saying the UK police do not arrest white Britons? You can search for drunk whites being arrested in the UK everyday. There is a rule of law and procedure and as part of that the police were within their rights to handcuff him if they were arresting him, but if you listen to the video you will see he kept saying I will come with you but don't handcuff me. He didn't want to be handcuffed and that is against procedure simple. If he is innocent he will be acquitted through the legal process and if he believes he was wrongly arrested he can file charges. It's different from Nigeria where it is all about paying money to the police. Stop shouting racism everytime, it is an insult to people who actually suffer racism. kelzi11: |

fulanimafia:From his yellings, he mentioned something like "all because of penalty fare." I'm not in support of circumventing the system, but jumping on trains without a valid ticket is something people do everyday and this is absolutely not the treatment they get when caught. I just cant help but wonder what led to this extreme case. |
