It was called the Nigerian Military Training College (NMTC) before it was renamed NDA.

There is no evidence of a 'forged' certificate. He was good enough to get a diploma in Strategic studies from the US war college. He has also studied in the UK and India at different times in his military career.

PMB has little knowledge about the reason Nigerian universities are lowly ranked. Blaming it on strikes confirms this point. First of all, why do lecturers go on strike. The reasons include poor working conditions, low pay compared to other countries in the same bracket as Nigeria (brain drain), disregard by government for agreements reached with lecturers, inadequate research and teaching facilities, ill-equipped libraries, poor funding of universities, etc. If government provides all these, there would be no reason for lecturers to go on strike. But what are we seeing today? The education budget for this year is lower than that of last year and we are complaining that our universities are lowly ranked. Ghana budget for education is put at 32% and we wonder why they are improving every single year? This government are yet to show commitment towards improving the lot of education. I support this government but it seems that education is not among their priorities yet. Things will continue like this until education gets the attention it deserves from government. May God help us.

Prior to the presidential election when the then ruling party raised an alarm over his certificate, Buhari stated it clearly that his credentials were with the Nigerian Army. But the army denied being in possession of them. He now presented the statement of his results and announced the necessary registration information over the media.
