Lost two pregnancies also at 8weeks but to God be the glory, I carried to term and was delivered of my lovely babies 2 weeks ago.

Hi all, this is a good thread. I had a miscarriage last year October at 5 months. Now doctor say I need a cerclage the next time I get pregnant. Itiade please what was the procedure like? Also since the miscarriage my period hasn't regularized but from the comments I read here it seems that it's normal.
@ my peace I am sorry for your loss,it is never a good experience. My miscarriage was due to premature rupture of the membrane. In fact the trauma took me off NL for a while. I resumed to meet this thread.

For all looking for children,I pray that we will receive our babies from God in Jesus name.

In January l decided to go self medication (not advisable though) by taking some food supplements which corrected it and l took in, though it resulted in the last miscarriage. This time around my period came at the right time. l think evacuation does a kind distortion to the whole hormonal system. lt took a friend of mine 6months to see her first period after a miscarriage and another friend for the last two years hasn't seen her period before of an abortion.

N/B. My doctor gave me a drug l bought 10k which he refused to disclose the name (cant just understand) to regularise the period, l took it for sometime and abandoned it, l couldnt just be taking what l dont know.

My dear, take ur time, though l sense hormonal imbalance, l maybe wrong. But take ur time, for me l have even lost confidence in doctors (apologies to any dr here pls). l have seen cases of people getting pg without even seeing their period, as u even mentioned ur case above, nothing is impossible before God.

Dear Ejadamen,
Am sorry for the delay.

The process did not take more than 15mins.
I got to the hospital at abt 10 am and was thru by 10.30 but took a nap so as allow the sedative wear off.
My Doc preferred general anaesthesia and i agreed with him.
In the long run I had no regrets cos there were no adverse effects( no cramps, spotting etccc)

I learnt epidural kind of causes back pain.

Can't believe I'm even more anxious now than my wife having worked on her psyche on the need not to think too much about it after we both read through the whole 7 previous pages of this thread, Sometimes I feel those who God just grant the favour of conceiving at the slightest opportunity don't know how lucky they are. But I believe we too are lucky & favoured as long as HE remains on the Throne.

Talk of test, we started off in a private clinic but the problem is that the doctor also works in a govt hospital and had to choose his time between his personal clients which timing sometimes odesnt work well for us. Unfortunately he’s just starting up his private clinic and has no specialist that can deputise in his absence. Another reason why I discontinued with him is the issue of money. I’m financially ok (irony) don’t get me wrong; having children is a worthwhile investment and If I have I won’t mind spending millions to have them. I have 2 friends who had the same problems and used Govt hospital with positive results, so they advise me and for 7-8 months, we were doing one test or the other. The problem I have is typical of such place, no specific designate, I can tell you my wife hardly met the same doctor twice during this period, We did all sort of test instead of telling us what they discover, they will write another one and we continue, my wife must have done up to 10 different types of tests including HSG. It got a stage one doctor even suggest repeating that test because he couldn’t see or fathom the observation/doctor’s comment about the first one. Believe, I never wished my wife to go through that test again. For other test my wife will have to force the lab. Analyst of where she did the test to explain if there is problem and most confirm everything is ok. Even drugs they don’t prescribe. My own semen test was certified 60% ok. The Lab analyst told me it’s still Ok but the doctor will help me to boost it further through prescriptions, do you know that the doctor corroborates that but didn’t recommend anything. I came across TTC on NL and decide to seek opinion and at the same time seek advise on anybody that can recommend a specialist because at this stage I wont mind borrowing.
We have been trying some of the suggestions you put forward ealier to see where we are lacking and where we can improve.

@ abiop, Don't say another wasted month  trust me i know how you are feeling. i have been through this since 2005 . I can tell you i know what frustration is i can tell you how much i hate that time of the month when it comes anger, discouragement, frustration what have i done wrong again etc but you know what i am still here ,I am still standing why? Because i have hope that is the only thing that can get you through this hope , faith and endurance.
Look at it this way which is worst a woman who has never conceived a child Or a woman who conceives and the child dies? NO ONE !!! we are all in this together your joy  of having a child will be my joy as well just be strong it is well.
where do you live Lagos? I think i have posted some clinics on here before i know Government hospitals are good but there is a little frustration in that sector . Try and look for a Doctor who  has all your files in one place, and has an idea about what tests have been done repeating a test is not fun. Once i did a test that they tested for 18 diffrent things took 9 vials of blood  HSG Tested the tissue of the last baby still nothing everything looks normal.
I live in the USA and I have to be proactive about my own care too  I am the one who reminds my doctor sometimes i did this test on this day and i don't have to do it again etc. He was named one of the best doctors in washington DC 2010 so e no matter they are human they too slip. So you have to be the one  pushing hard , i got frustrated and told him i am done with all of this and i want to try IVF his response was no that he has faith that i will get pregnant and carry to term without IVF so my brother i have done all tests  known to medicine to have a child yet i am still waiting, ,  no longer on man  but on God to finish it.

One area I'm confuse now is prior to February this year. it was always a 27/28 days affair butit's now February (32); March (33) and April (33). Do I now assume her ovulation days are now 32/33?

This ovulation thing sometimes just goes crazy. It sometimes depends if she is stressed then her period can change or for no reason it just happens i think i am not sure.Have you used OPK instead of just assuming? That is a ovulation predictor kit about 3 days before she thinks she will ovulate she can start using this kit just like a pregnancy one until both lines show up then you know she is very close to ovulation then you start trying.It took out guess work for me. If she starts paying attention alot to her body she can tell when she is about to ovulate i can tell because 2 days before i start feeling pains and on the very day it is pain for like 5 minutes then it is over.

I feel for all trying to concieve there is a good book that can really boost your faith, whatever religion you are, its a positive book, there are numerous testimonies of women who have been written off completely but they praised God, one of my sisters-in-law was a living testimony what God helped to do through reading the book. She took the confessions for 3 months when she got pregnant after over 2 years of waiting.

It seems that the doctors have let you down, by not giving you proper feedback on the results.
When they say you semen is 60% ok, it is not really telling you anything, but it sounds like you may low sperm count, so you need to work on getting urself very healthy.

If you overweight try and lose weight

keep your testicles as cool as possible at all times, for instance when I am at home, I may not wear underwear and may were loose fitting shorts or a wrap.

If you smoke quit smoking

If you drink alcohol - give up alcohol

The key for a man is to raise his testosterone levels and key to this is to be as slim as possible.

Do daily strenous excercise with heavy weights, squats, press-ups, pull ups etc

Boil 250g of broccoli in a litre of water with black pepper daily . Eat the broccoli and drink the water. The brocolli water needs to be drank on a empty stomach. Do this for 21 straight days , take 7days off and repeat.

Very important for a man to get sufficient sleep at night at least 6-7 hour of quality sleep. If you do not get good sleep at night then testosterone levels would be affected which impacts sperm production. Night workers are particularly affected with low testosterone and sperm count.

There are yahoo groups for ttc which is very helpful.

Regarding your wife, she needs to establish she is ovulating, so an ovulation prediction kit may be useful as Arlington suggested.

Another thing that may help is that when you ejacu.late, try and time it to be at the stroke when you are deepest inside her and stop thrusting at that point (easier said than done ), stay still inside until you erection shrinks. This is because when you continue to thrust after ejac.ulation, your thrusting may force our some semen.

you can also make it a point to always give your with an orgasm, immediately after your own as I believe her orgasm my help her absorb ur semen into her womb.
