This is a way to go. Making people know that human rights is above religious belief. I am a Christian but I don't appreciate the fact that others are not sleeping in the name of vigil. That is why I prefer going to camp for my vigil. Then, Muslims should devise a way of inviting their members for early morning prayers. Nigeria is going higher. ..

Kudos to Lagos govt. One good thing about Lagos is that they make laws and ENFORCE them. Most state govts across the country cannot muster the political will to enforce the law against noise-making centres aka places of worship.

I believe they've been warned severally. You can preach the gospel without constituting nuisance.

But I still think they should be pardoned. This is not the best time to shut down religious houses, Mosques especially.

I wonder why they won't seal Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Halls. We are so so different, our God Jehovah is not deaf. He hears even when you aren't even speaking out. Enough said. Good morning all.

Just stop. Pls stop being ignorant. There's time for everything. Most of these churches are just overdoing it. Travel to the western world and see how religious worship centres are being conducted. And they are the same people that brought the gospel down here. Upon say naija na the only country wet get about five churches in a street, na we dey still sin pass.

We should be careful especially Christians, we are setting an unprecedented catalyst, we lack foresight in so many ways, the case of osun state is clear evidence, I really don't know what my southwest Christian brothers are thinking but they are slowly selling out themselves, just my opinion please someone give me a reason that I am wrong?

stop advertising poverty of mind and material things. "bus" have drug sellers and others talking to fellow passengers to patronize them, why pick quarrel on the church people alone? Do they "disturb" people who are cruising to work on their private BMW cars? Why not rather go for violent deliverance from poverty inducing demons?

I'd say this is a good development. Could they please extend this to other states. A lot of people are being deprived of rest in their homes due to these churches/mosques. If they must shout, they should atleast not put their speakers outside. Personally, i don't see the need for all these outward display of 'religiousness' if there is a word like that. Worship God in honesty, serenity and truth. Our God is all seeing, he knows those who truly worship and praise him.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) on Wednesday, June 23, 2016 sealed 70 churches, 20 mosques, and 11 club houses/hotels across the Lagos metropolis over noise pollution and other environmental nuisances.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Engr. Adebola Shabi in an interview after sealing the religious houses, club houses and hotels said that the premises were shut following constant complaints from residents in their neighborhood.

He also said most of the premises shut were approved for residential purposes but after few years, they were converted to worship centers saying “all these religious houses, club houses and hotels sealed are constituting nuisance to other neighbors”

The General Manager stressed that some of the affected facilities had been served abatement notices, they were invited and advice accordingly before the eventual closure.

He therefore state that Lagos State Government under the leadership of Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode would not condone improper dispose of sewage and usage of latrines.

Among the facilities sealed are: Recycling plant at Orilawe Street off Nureni Yusuf Rd, Alagbado, Lagos for noise pollution and untidy environment. Others are Celestial Church of Christ, Ebenezer Parish at Abule Titun, Alakuko, Solution Life Ministry at Ogunshola Street off Ajayi Rd, Ogba Aguda, Zoe Ministries Worldwide, Budland Street off Isheri Road, Ojodu, Sportas Suite Bar, CMD Road, Magodo among others.
