The war is not bad,at least the Igbos and minority tribes in Niger delta fought the war of survival from genocide and ethnic cleansing stage against them by the North and western Nigeria with the help of British and Russians and other allied forces. |

The civil war should never have happened. ironsi should never have been assasinated. The first republic politicians should never have been slaughtered. In a nutshell, Nigeria was never ripe enough for independence when we got it. This is where the rot in our military started.. the average soldier is first a tool of tribalism, before a true servant of nigeria. Banjo, nzeogwu, ifeajuna, maimalari, onwuategwu, don okafor, ironsi and others were finely trained and professionals. Indeed the biafran war was no victor but all VANQUISHED. Biafra may have lost the war, but nigeria today is still losing the battle. Only hope still gives me belief in NIGERIA. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Truly, there was a country. Kudos to the great men of Ndigbo (Anioma inclusive),good people of Akwa ibom, cross river, Rivers state (igboid groups) , Ogoni, Bonny etc who stood and defend the territorial integrity of the old eastern region. Your sacrifices, pain, starvation, other horrendous ordeals shall never be forgotten. We love and cherish you all. Worthy of note is our women, children, adults who pay the ultimate price because of freedom, justice, equality. We will always remember you forever. 3 Likes |

Amarabae:this 3million myth is only meant to serve as deterrence to would be secessionists, nigerians also died in thousands especially when you consider that the fg had three divisions by 1968,firt division under shuwa,2nd division under murtala and 3rd marine under adekunle but by 1970 the fg had only obasanjo's division,an objective mind would have asked where is the other two divisions?answer is they died in biafra.but the fg wont disclose their number of casualties, the only way the disclose their casualties is through marginalisation. |

Amarabae:The actual number of people that die in that war is Biafra side =650,000 people mostly civilian women and children due to starvation impose by Nigeria after giving away Bakassi peninsula to Cameroon to ensure the success of food bloccade, Nigeria lost about 280,000 soldiers while Biafra lost about 50,000 soldiers putting the total casualties to about 1million people. Any other number is just a propaganda like saying that Hitler kill 6million Jews. |

engrchykae:But then how come biafra surrendered if Nigeria had only one division left? as at the time of surrender ojukwu had fled. The east was surrounded, anything other than surrender would have been total annihilation. Don't distort facts bro. you make it seem like you were on the verge of victory, which was not so. |
