We've lost count of the number of ultimatums given by the igbos in this country. Whenever they do, a thread or two is all we see on the forum and the nation carries on like some cricket must farted a thousand miles away.

Two days ago, a group of Northern youths gave an ultimatum and the nation has known no sleep, neither has nairaland politics board! Ex presidents, ex vice presidents, ex presidential aides, state governments, opinion leaders, traditional leaders, civil rights organizations, etc have been reacting. It feels like a political volcano just erupted somewhere!

Put those two scenarios side by side and it would dawn on you why a certain people are called CHEST BEATERS.

Must North be the initator of every nonsense in this country? Religious Fanatics = North Terrorism = North Lack of Leadership qualies = North Religious Sentiments = North Why?

Have the northerners not called for violence also? Where were you when a policeman threatened to kill over 200 persons should PMB die (despite the rumors of death emanating from your party)? What of El Rufai and his loan repayment threat? Northerners were killed at Ife (in retaliations to one of them killing a person), we did not see you condemn that. Where were you when some herdsmen attacked at Nimbo and killed people only for the youths about 76 of them to be arrested and made to pay for bail? How about the numerous pillaging and sacking of communities with Miyetti association issuing threats and nothing was done? Yet, it is the Igbos... Let the three majority ethnic yoruba, hausa, and igbos live apart. They are better on their own. Each have a population of 35 million. This is even larger than most countries in Europe and very close to south korea's population.
Yoruba form Oodua Republic
Igbos form Biafra Republic
Hausa form Arewa Republic

I would have love to see arewa carry out their traits but unfortunately it seems they lack the will power knowing fully well that what they are calling for is a full blown war on Igbo's.

Igbos, in their usual arrogant nature would come here now and say it is weakness on the part of the Arewa, it is strength. They have proven to be sensible and respectful of their leaders unlike Igbos. The SE should start pulling out of every non-Igbo state in Nigeria, we are actually tired of their shenanigans!

Youths from North and South should organize a summit and chat a way forward for this country rather than issuing threats. The U-turn by the Arewa youths is a welcome development
