As I lean on Him, I triumph!”
In our text, David spoke of how God delivered him from all his enemies and upheld him in times of trouble. David triumphed because he was obedient to God’s statutes and made the Lord his Companion in time of trouble. Records abound of many saints of old who really enjoyed and testified to the steadfastness of Christ’s companionship, especially when all human help proved worthless.
It is futile to try to seek true companionship in money, position, power, occultism, materialism or alcoholism. A wealthy business tycoon once let out his frustration thus: “I have everything money can buy except peace of mind.” A celebrity regretted that: “I had my days of hiding my pain – laughing when there was nothing to laugh at; smiling when there was not anything to smile about. That was just my way of getting through life. Pretending like everything was just okay. I guess I did it so well that I really began to believe it. I fooled myself. Using my escapisms was my thing not to feel my pain – whatever would numb the pain... just because you have money doesn’t mean you can’t feel worthless, just because people consider you beautiful doesn’t mean that you feel that way...”
Anyone – father, mother, sibling, spouse, children, neighbours, friends and some church members – can disappoint when one needs them most due to inherent limitations in terms of ability, knowledge, understanding and resources. But Jesus will never fail you. He does not have such limitations.

KEY VERSE: “ Out of all your gifts ye shall offer every heave offering of the Lord, of all the best thereof, even the hallowed part thereof out of it ” ( Numbers 18:29).

A story is told of a thirteen-year old girl who listened intently to her pastor's sermon about God's love in giving the best gift of His Son to die for everyone. He spoke about the love of Jesus who willingly offered His life on the Cross for our sins. The girl's heart was deeply touched by what she heard. She had no money, so it seemed as though she had nothing to give to the Lord. Then, she thought of a gift that would please God very much. When the usher passes the offering plate, she whispered to him, " Please lower the offering plate." He lowered it. She kept requesting the plate to be lowered until it reached the floor. Then, she stepped into the offering plate and stood in it. She was giving the Lord the very best gift she could ever afford. She was giving herself to the Lord!

Like the Levites in today's text, believers are to give their best as hallowed gifts to the Lord ( 1Peter 2:9). As a song writer, Howard Benjamin Grose captured it in a hymn, " Give of your best to the Mast; Give Him the strength of your youth; Throw your soul's fresh, glowing ardour; Into the battle for truth." Believers are to offer their best unto the Lord. Jesus proved His love by giving us the best - His life.

We must give Him our all - heart, life, time, talents and treasures. This can be done through total obedience to His words; we must preach the gospel, share His love, be devoted and consecrated, teach, model and mentor the old and young until Christ is formed in them. Then, you will experience more of His transforming and satisfying love.

Job Purpose

Inventory Management:

Monitor in coordination with team stock inventory and ensure the availability of products at all time; Ensure that products are stored in the right department, with the right labelling and under the right condition - temperatures & in a hygienic & safe manner; Maintain ideal stock levels per product category & rotate stock(FIFO/FEFO);Ensure availability of stock and placing of order immediately they fall below the minimum stock level; Receiving of stock from back-store/supplier and confirming the correctness of the quantity and the quality of same; Periodical planning & undertaking of stock take; Ensure consistent quality, beautiful and attractive presentation all the products;Responsible for Receiving along with team members based strictly on adherence to the SOP on receiving; Ensure accurate documentation of receipts; Responsible along with other team members to ensure reduction in wastage; Filing returns and ensuring completion of documentation immediately (the same day as receipt); Accountable along with team members for shrinkage.

Merchandising:

Controlling & minimizing shrinkage:

Checking stocks of the vital & costly items every day; Checking movement of stocks and humans in the store including shop lifters; Constant Observation on the stocks kept on the shelves;Handling incidents & discrepancies; Actively involved in stock take process; Constant watch on collections at cash point; Observing movement of cash transfer to strong room.

Monitoring of Security staffs, Contract staffs:

Checking on the reporting time & attendance; Monitoring of their performance; Giving on the job training & tips; Cross checking their movements.

Parking Control:

Ensuring that parking decorum is maintained; Adherence to Car park management; Handle the issues relating to rift, fights, indiscipline, etc; Controls traffic by directing drivers;Counter measures for bomb threat; Resolve vehicle damage, loss; theft, stealing; Clearing of traffic at store entrance & exit points.Security Gadgets:Assist in monitoring the performance of all security gadgets - camera, fire equips, safety equips, etc; Assist in capturing of all vital information through gadgets; Assist in reviewing the recordings; Assist in analysing information to resolve incidences.

Procurement of Staffs Kits, Uniforms & Dress Materials:

Experience and Qualification

HE WATCHES OVER HIS OWN

TEXT: 2 KINGS 11:1-12

KEY VERSE: “And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.” (2 Kings 11:12)

In Psalm 2, King David presents a picture that celebrates God’s ultimate universal rule despite every device of the enemy to thwart His plans. After wondering why puny kings and the lords of the earth gather to unseat Him whom the Lord has anointed to reign, David mocks their antics and predicts the contest between God and man: “He that sitted in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure”.

It was this fate that befell Athaliah who sought to abort God’s plan to bring the Messiah into the world for mankind’s salvation through the lineage of David. Jehu killed her son Ahaziah and so she attempted to destroy all the other princes. God would not allow that because they were the descendants of David who He promised would be the progenitor of the coming Messiah in 2 Samuel 7. Athaliah thought she had killed all the princes. But God hid one, Joash, through Jehosheba who protected him in the temple. God took care of him for six years while Athaliah ruled in terror and wickedness. During the period, she never had time for the temple since her preoccupation was idolatry. Eventually, Joash was unveiled as the king of Judah and Athaliah was executed. God won! He always does.

Knowing and believing God’s promises to watch over His beloved children under all circumstance should enhance our respect and honour for Him. We should hold Him in greater awe and obey Him more for His love and care. With faith in His power to preserve, we ought not fear the threats of the world while reaching out to sinners with the gospel. He who aborted the plot against Joash and the messianic line. He will continue to preserve us.

UNGODLY PRACTICES

TEXT: LUKE 16:1-18

KEY VERSE: “And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?” (Luke 16:12)

The parables of our Lord Jesus Christ on money startle those who do not allow the Spirit of God to interpret its meaning. But in 2 Peter 1:20,21 we are warned that “… no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”

Therefore our Lord’s parable on the wasteful and dishonest manager does not teach the Christian employee to squander his boss’ goods and later resort to shady dealings to cover up. It is impossible for the Lord who taught in Matthew 5 that we should be pure and let our lights shine in this corrupt world and be perfect like God who takes no pleasure in evil (Psalms 5:4) to contradict Himself.

On the contrary, He wants His followers to be wise and astute in matters of handling money and position. The cunning steward adopted a plan to earn a place in the hearts of his master’s customers if he lost his job. He used his position to secure future gratitude. However, God does not desire money to be an end in our lives. It should be used for gospel work to win souls and to help the needy.

The Lord sums it up thus in Matthew 6:20,21: “lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt, and where thieves do not break through to steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” The Lord concludes His teachings by warning against aligning our value system with that of the world which permits divorce, polygamy and a mindless pursuit of material possessions.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: He who is trustworthy gains the Ruler’s confidence.
THE BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: ISAIAH 46-50.

TEXTUAL CLARIFICATIONS.
1. The rich and those who will be rich don't condone wastages (v1).
2. The lord of the servant commended the servant for being a "smart guy". The world will at times commend someone who enrich himself for future survival regardless of if dubious means are used (v8). Jesus condemned this (v11,12).
3. Jesus' message is unambiguous. Invest in money and use it as a tool for eternal rewards against the time when you "fail" or die (v9). Jesus taught on faithfulness with respect to money as a necessity to making heaven.

HOPE IN GOD

EZEKIEL 17:11-24

KEY VERSE: "In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruits, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowls of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell."
(Ezekiel 17:23)

Bible scholars have identified two remarkable things in the ministry of Prophet Ezekiel. God allowed him to inject heavy symbolism into his messages to the children of Judah in order to drive home precious lessons. Besides, his messages would begin with conditions that suggested despair but end with lively hope.

We see all these dramatised in the vision of the valley of dry bones. In Ezekiel 37, skeletons that opened the chapter are progressively transformed by God's power in a great lively army. Ezekiel uses figurative language to call confederate kings against Nebuchadnezzar eagles to reflect their royal and powerful status, since the eagle is the king of all flying creatures. But the God of all creation is not moved by the military prowess of man, "mighty army or great company". God says these kings have "despised the oaths by breaking the covenant " and judgement must come upon them.

God's standard of complete obedience to His lordship is not discriminatory. He demands it from the high and the low. He is no respecter of persons. God can subdue men and women of substance who violate His ordinances. Having announced the plan to deal with the rebellion, God now makes a solemn vow of hope for Israel and mankind in the distant future in verse 24. He presents what Bible scholars have described as a beautiful messianic promise. God says He will visit Israel again and take away her dryness and barrenness (verse 23). The emerging "goodly cedar tree" would be a shelter to all those who run to it. Jesus Christ fulfilled that prophecy when He came into the world 594 years after Ezekiel's ministry and in His millennial reign. Lost mankind must run to Him to be sheltered from all evils.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: Hope in Christ gives birth to joy.

PONDER
2 covenants are speaking in the text. First is the one a king's seed, Zedekiah, made with Nebuchadnezzar, a gentile. The other is the one made by God with David. The first was speaking judgement and destruction to Judah even though it appears Zedekiah did not take the covenant serious. God reiterated that the covenant with David is still operative even though it appears there is delay.

1. Lord, forgive me of unfaithfulness to any covenants I made with you as I repent now.
2. Lord, let the blood of the covenant of Jesus cancels any covenant that is speaking negativity to my life and destiny.
3. Give me faith and patience to see your promises coming to reality in my life.
4. Lord I praise you for your faithfulness to your promises to me, my family and the church as I trust you for fulfilment
