even sef referenting is a choice, first you have to change the constitution to allow that..

but wait..people have to vote if they even want referenting...you cant force it on people...

the south south will deny it....you have been insulting the deltans that have other views over a year now...

they can easily deny to hold a referenting in the delta just to pay una back for all insults...tit for tat..
and i heard that igboid tribes in the delta are not even a majority sef.... undecided

then it can hold in the 5 eastern states...

but wait....the chance that some states will not want is high too.....their is division between ipob, massob, the people, elders, politicians already....

this can be a very long process that can take years!!!!....

but the damage and lifes lost could be unbearable...

i don't think this Biafra thing is a good idea... undecided
was the constitution changed when bakassi penusila was seceded to Cameroon? it seems all this Afonja, your head is paining you.

Noo you wrong. They are not the igbos eating from national cake. They are igbos who have worked hard and are successful. They are igbos who are into reasonable businesses and understand that business thrives when you don't discriminate against anybody because every Nigerian will use your products or buy what you sell not minding your tribe. Majority of the miscreants running after Nnamdi kanu won't reject money or job offer from a yoruba or hausa man but will be quick to insult them and preach hate towards them.

the igbos following nnamdi kanu up and down are the jobless lots, the struggling palm wine tappers and village hunters, the touts in the market and the senseless ones who sell petty stuffs and hardly make any reasonable profit daily. Their poverty and laziness had turned their brain upside down and they think Biafra will change their condition. They are praying that the successful igbos go back to square one like them so that they can all become poor. Many of them are envious of their successful brothers who have made it in Nigeria. You people claim igbos are the most successful and own 90% of the properties in Nigeria. If that is so, why would any successful igbo who own part of the 90% choice properties in Nigeria support a Biafra that is borne out of senseless hatred of a jobless nnamdi kanu? How can kanu who doesn't have a job or any property to his name want to mislead successful igbos who have worked hard for what they have. Kanu wey still dey live for him papa house?

Eziokwu! shocked You have said it all. And you have said it well. cheesy Biko, collect two chilled bottles from Mama Onoja's shop at the junction. Use it to cool down. Just tell her that all the drinks are on me! cool

Akin Oyebode is actually a very well grounded intellectual.
A professor of law with a Marxist- Leninist leanings back in the days.
During the anti-apartheid struggles, he was passionately outspoken.

I am just shocked that he thinks that Biafran agitation is not a legitimate agitation, and that Nnamdi Kanu is not a legitimate freedom fighter.
I mean, by his jaundiced logic, the ANC of South Africa should have also challenged the White South African army to a winner-takes-all battle, or simply just shut up and abandoned the anti-apartheid struggles altogether.

When it comes to matters relating to Igbos , the Southwest intelligentsia , with notable exceptions, seem to speak in tongues.
The SW intelligentsia knows their boundaries. The Igbos r no go area for them hence their double tongue. When ever they make noise Igbos just watch them bc they lack depth and substance.

If you do not agree with a person's comments, then state exactly the reason for your disagreement. sad There is no need to deride him or denigrate his qualifications.

Professor Akin Oyebode is a highly qualified legal practitioner and an academic. undecided He was former Head of Department of International Law, in the University of Lagos, as well as Dean of Law. He is a graduate of Harvard University USA. He has taught Law for over 40 years, and among his former students are 20 Judges in Lagos State. Some of them are in the Court of Appeal, while others have either been Governors or Deputy Governors. There was a time about seven Attorneys General in this country, were recorded to have passed through his class.

Some of his old students are Professors Taiwo Osipitan, Imran Smith, Amos Utuama, who have all taken silk as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SAN) too. Professor Akin Oyebode also served as former Vice-Chancellor of Ekiti State University.

I. don't doubt his academic versatility.Anyone can go to UK or USA spend 9yrs and make PHD.He can gather books written by different author to draw up his conclusions in our setting. bc the western world is ahead of us But when u place him out of dat field he becomes blank.Imagine d Prof heading so many organization & when u compare those organizations with their contemporaries in Africa u will see his failure.Have u ever wonder why little boys whom he taught abroad still offer consultancy services to him&Nigeria govt. The truth is dat 98%of our professors cannot turn water into win.they r just academics and not inventors.

I do not know how many professors you have interacted with, for you to have come to this conclusion. undecided But Prof. Oyebode is one of the best in his field. He has told you clearly the relevance of the UN clause on self-determination, with respect to the Nigerian law or constitution. The Nigerian law does not have any place in it, that deals with referendum. So do you want Prof. Oyebode to lie to you, by giving you false assurances in this area? shocked Ok, please bring up an Igbo Professor of International Law (who is also part of IPOB) to debate this issue with Prof. Oyebode, and let us see if his conclusion would be different. sad I am sure you can find one.

You see why it is not good to be an illiterate

IPOB is not going to waste their time going through the National Assembly but will go straight to the United Nations.

Stop calling others illiterate when you are the one that don't know what you're saying.

Going to United nations won't help your agitation because what United nations will do for you is to encourage you to fight for inclusion of referendum in your constitution. United nations cannot dictate how self determination should be carried out, they can only advise that peaceful approach should be used.

May God continue to increase the wisdom He has deposited in your life! cool This is the same gospel, I have been preaching to those IPOB crew, for quite a while. Compel your House of Reps members and all the Senators from your zone to present a bill on the Biafran agitation and the need for referendum, both in the green and red chamber. Let them lobby others to buy into their views, and debate it successfully in both chambers, until they can muster enough support to get an assent to it. Have they done so? No! sad Instead they keep insulting other ethnic groups up and down, thinking that insults will work in their favour... mtcheew. angry

I'm surprised at these people level of reasoning. They are just habitual noisemakers and chestbeaters. And this noise they are making won't help their situation unfortunately

Are you waiting for Buhari to conduct the referendum for you or what?
1) who is going to fund the referendum?
Are IPOB going to pay for the cost?

2) Who is eligible to vote? Is it membership of Igbo ethnic group?.. Who is is an Igbo and who is not? Are Ikwerre, Ika, Ndoki,Ekpeye etc considered igbo?..or just all the peoples residing in the southeast regardless of tribal group?

3) Which method of identification, is it INEC voters' cards or what?

NOW IT IS TOO LATE FOR NEGOTIATION.

THE DEAL HAVE ALREADY BE DONE, EITHER CONDUCT REFERENDUM OR FACE REVOLT.

I have repeatedly told them that the above approach is the ONLY PEACEFUL WAY to achieve Biafra, but the dolts realize the humongous task of lobbying for support ahead of them especially considering the hatred they have sown against other regions and seem to have chosen blackmail/violent confrontation instead.

Not that their hubris, arrogance, misplaced superiority complex, lack of humility and diplomacy helps matters.

Even in Greek folklore, hubris ALWAYS leads to nemesis.

They'll get what they're asking for in full measure.
