I can see that the only thing this govt knows how to do is to attack anybody who calls them out on their foolishness on media.
APC stop playing politics and govern for a change! This is getting out of hand.

They have a point. These local content policies actually helped Nigerian artistes back in the day. Then popular stations were all about foreign music.

There are nice locations in Nigeria for music videos. Patronise them.

Where was Peter Okoye or Psquare brand in 1999 when foreign music dominated our airwaves? If not for the government policy which mandated all broadcast stations in Nigeria to pay attention to Nigerian music by playing 95 percent of Nigerian songs every day, would Peter Okoye or Psquare be known to anybody in Nigeria today? Or would they have competed with better American music which dominated our airwaves then?

Fat lie from the pits of hell. The Government had nothing to with the rise of Psquare, Nigerians payed attention to Psquare because they were good and by 1999 most Americans and the rest of the world were tied of the the America music industry. I won't be surprised if these fools come out tomorrow and say they are the reason MTV, VH1 and BET stopped playing music videos.

The All Progressives Congress(APC) youth renaissance group has fired a stinker at Peter Okoye of P-square for insulting the Federal government of Nigeria.

In a statement signed by the group's national secretary, Mr Collins Edwin and made available to PoliticsNGR, the APC described Okoye as a 'son of darkness'.

The statement read in full;

We read the scurrilous remarks credited to Mr Peter Okoye of the Psquare group against the Federal Government's job-saving policy in the entertainment industry with great anger and vexation.

Least of all persons to make scathing remark against the government is the Psquare group which the local content policy of the Federal Government dusted-up from the valley of obscurity.

After the government have used its policy to brush them up from nothing to something; instead of giving opportunity to other people, they are taking Nigerian jobs to foreign countries through the shooting of music videos abroad.

Now that government have intervened to raise great and better entertainers again, Peter Okoye has the gut to insult the entire Federal Government by calling our great leaders 'Ndi Ala' which means mad and stupid people. How dare you say that Psquare?

We, therefore, urge the security agencies in the country to arrest Mr Peter Okoye for disrespecting our government and bringing it to a disrepute. If you cannot produce in Nigeria and hire Nigerians, then leave the industry.We must export Nigerian culture to the outside world through our music and videos.

is it not the same APC that claimed PDP wrecked the whole economy for 16 years?
how come the same FG of PDP has now become the object of defence by the APC
why do APC like to focus on petty matters and ignore matters of obvious weight like the where about of buhari, the direction o f Nigeria.
may God never make one as confused as APC..

guys watch it..
Peter of psqure will be the diversionary tactic APC will use for the next few weeks..

meanwhile check my signature and let's bring life to your beautiful house.

APC and Hypocrisy has no bounds! Meanwhile the vegetable president has been in another country without any clue on his health status. FG has no moral rights to ban music videos production outside Nigeria when they have not set anything in place esp with the epileptic power supply, hooliganism and insecurity etc!
FG should first ban the use of medical facilities abroad for those in govt before coming to tell the common man on the streets how to spend their money and where to do their business.
As for the APC youths blasting its quite obvious they have to make rubbish statements in order to get their daily crumbs from their paymasters.

The Apc issue is a national disaster that must be taken seriously, we must change this government as a matter of national urgency. Everything that this government touches withers. No achievement recorded, media trial of perceived "korrupt" individuals and yet our economy is shrinking in their hands.
Finance Minister: 16+6=24
Agric Minister: Rice will be sold for less 10k SOON.
Minister of Power: The past regime are responsible for ever present darkness.
Minister of Transport: Mr honest man who doesn't like money, that one is busy hustling his state with the governor than facing his ministry.

As much as am not a big fan of nigerian music, but if dem no shot videos 4 abroad, where dem go shot am b4....is it the traffic of volks that will give the videos a beautiful scene, or the pot holes in okoko, assuming our musicians sing political related songs like late fela, then nigeria would be a perfect scene, but imagine wizkid singing with girls shaking there butts in the over flooded area of lekki, what do you call that?, anyways they are all d same, just as our politicians left our health sector in a mess and choose to get medical attention abroad...so let not the pot call the kettle black.

APC,

you are merely hiding under the fact that govt promoted the playing of Nigeria's music in the 1990s; you are using that fact to now ban foreign influence on Nigeria's music industry;

but indeed, your banning of Western input to Nigeria's music is part of your Islamization policy hinged on "Western Things are Haram" in Nigeria; after all, APC recently cut off Christian Religious Knowledge from Nigeria's school curriculum.

Stop fooling yourselves.
