Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, was Sunday afternoon confronted by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The incident took place at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ekwulobia, Anambra State.

It was gathered though the scene was tensed, security operatives exercised restraint and caution

“Governor Obiano had gone to the church to worship, only to be embarrassed by IPOB members in their hundreds, if not thousands, who stormed the church in buses.

“They were chanting ‘No election in Anambra on November 18’. The Governor had to be smuggled out by his security details,” an eyewitness told News Express.

IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, had declared that the forthcoming governorship election in Anambra will not hold.

But Obiano recently fired back and warned IPOB not to cross the line by attempting to stop a constitutional process.

Biafrans have rejected the so called elite and political class.

This is the beginning of the real revolution

Biafra or no Biafra, I wish this rejection of the political class can spread all over Nigeria.

who knows, the era when the elites take the people for granted may come to an end soon.

And I must pay tribute to Nnamdi Kanu.

even if he stops now, he has done a great job.

I will advise Kanu to rain on his supporter to respect a divegent views & opinion. We cannot b seeking for a nation where justice, equity, fairness & freedom would b enshrined, while in thesame vain deny "some" such liberties. They should remember that igbos are republicans & had been practicing democracy, 100s of years b4 the white man's concept/version of democracy. Therefore we should not trample on such core Igbo value or culture while in posuit of BIAFRA. By the way, on no election We Anamberians stand.

They say they are Jews and we respect that. I'm pretty sure they have never had their activities disrupted by Christians in "biafraland". Why then did they have to desecrate the house of God and worship center for Christians?

In observing their own freedoms, they should learn not to interfere with other people's rights amd freedoms..

On the other occasion, the burial of a 90 year old was disrupted, as they sent the grieving family scampering for safety, now this.

This is just so unfortunate.

Ipobians are digging their graves with no one to advise them. If they continue like this till November the government is going to re-arrest Nnamdi Kanu and proscribe his group then a crack down will begin. The same Igbo elite who made his release possible will no longer support him. IPOB is a group of illiterate with no strategy.

Who says that the Christians are not the largest supporters of Biafra?? Reading your comment a naive nairalander or guest would assume that you care.

If only you can channel your concern to the mayhem being caused by Fulani herdsmen in your backyard, maybe the fulanis will know that you guys are humans and not cows that are meant for butchering.

Obiano is not a calculative politician. He is indeed a technocrat turn politician.

He knew he had election to win this year and avoided Nnamdi Kanu like a plague. Fayose, FFK and former road safety boss.showed their sympathy even if it's not from their heart. Those are politicians. As strategic as Anambra is in Igbo land. Obiano kept mute. Under his watch Igbos were killed in Onitsha by Nigerian armed forces. Obiano kept mute and later went to lay wreaths.

Obiano is in the opposition and so being sympathetic to Biafra course will not in anyway harm him. Now his silence is hunting him. Momentum is building and the election will not hold. It scares Obiano to his pants as APC will declare their candidate winner. Then legal battle begins for him.

Ndo Obiano. You should have been man enough to speak up against the killing of your people. Keep snapping picture with Buratai. You will be shocked

Ur governor goofed the day he took the advice of Sokoto caliphate & Kaduna emirate by threatning Kanu & his Ipob. One would've expcted Obiano to swong into action, the moment he heard of the election boycott, by lobbying Igbo elders, expecially those who withnessed the civil war, to giv Kanu reason why the boycott is not the best stractegy now. And even if we should adopt that stractegy, it should start from federal level eg. National assemly & the senate in 2019.

When I started warning Igbos about this politics of lies and chaos some people never understood my wisdom. Even Obiano's supporters attacked me and joined calling Okorocha as Okorohausa in support of IPOB. Today they've overrun Obiano and his supporters will now suddenly be termed saboteurs. I remain ever grateful to God that they have not penetrated Imo State before showing their true colours.
