...if the SE governors and political leadership, elites, business moguls, igbos in general didn't speak out or condemned this tag of 'terrorist' then history and posterity won't be kind to them.

The most important question is "what does the law say?"

Are we beholden to failed political leadership, so-called elites, and useless moguls? Are we obliged to listen when they speak? Can't we arrive at our logical conclusion? Or what's the point of education if another must tell you what to do or say?

Who declared them? Nigeria /Nigerian Army or the international community?

Who do they attack? Nigerians or citizens of other countries? Who should have been quick to declare them as terrorists? Nigeria or the international community?

Therein lies the double standard bro

It's funny how Ibos want to use that lame "who do they attack" tactic. Hate speeches meant to cause tribal and religious rift and to incite people to cause harm to others is also a form of terrorism.

Igbos that were looking for Hausas in buses and man-made checkpoints (who knows that else they do in their forest), were they looking to give them free gift cards?

As for who declared fulanis herdsmen terrorist groups, that's not for me to know. Who declared boko harams and isis a terrorist group? Who cares? They point it, they've been declared such.

Don't worry, UN and other international bodies that you troublemakers like to report to, will also follow suit and acknowledge the declaration.

Like North East, like East.

Many of the notable leaders of the East will be acting "on the fence" now just like the elders of the North East did in 2009 until it smacks them in the face!

The Nigerian Army is the only professional outfit designated by law to protect the territorial integrity of the nation against both external aggression and internal insurrestion. This army is good, this army is strong and this army has proven itself over and over again as good at its duties since Congo, Biafra, Chad, Liberia and Sierra Leone. Against unconventional forces, it has laid its weight heavily on the Maitatsine, Boko Haram, Ansr Din etc. Some may disregard the army for its widely advertised poor human rights records, but what fighting force on Earth has not been accused of human rights failures?

IPOB, don't mess whith the Nigerian army, you don't wana go down there!

Finally. They have done the right thing.

Freedom fighters who spread hate and threaten annihilate other tribes are no longer freedom fighters. They are terrorists.

Kanu has always spoken about actualization by war. This is not yet a battle, but he is already crying foul.

The number of ipob threads making it to front page should be reduced.. Nairaland can't be seen to be promoting terrorism.

They don't know the news people get from here propagate

This is a welcome development. Ipob have committed act of terror which includes attacking police officers on legitimate duty, killing and burning of police patrol vehicle, station n houses, attacking military convoy on announced operation without provocation, attacking n beheading hausa people on transit, burning of mosques in port hacourt n aba, assaulting civilians who do not agree with their actions, formation of secret service within a sovereign state, instigation to violence by cownu, violation of bail conditions, running a parrellel government, soliciting for arms to carryout genocide against hausa and yoruba people, illegal broadcasting of hate speech. Does pf us that live in Maiduguri knows this is exactly how boko haram came to be. The army chose to be proactive this time around. I commend them for that. Make no mistake, force is d only language terrorists understand.

How laughable. Labeling an organisation with no weapons as terrorist? The real terrorist are the Nigerian Army because only they can go to a peaceful place like Abia and cause absolute mayhem

Shut the fck up and stop lying. IPOB carry weapons which they use to intimidate other Igbos to support them, by joining their sit-at-home, boycotts and so on. They seem to have Turkish folks now selling them guns and other stuff now. They are terrorists.

Good

It has clearly played out that the North own Nigeria.

It was Arewa elders and youths who made the declaration long ago not the Nigerian Army. The Army only executed the plan.

It was clear, it was the essence of the Operation Python dance; to provoke the IPOB to take up arms and then label them terrorists.

The Arewa youths said it, that when President Buhari retunred IPOB would be declared a terrorist organisation and that Kanu would be jailed for life.

Let me wait and see the response of the leaders in the South East. Let me know if they are really alive and seeing this atrocity on their youths

Clueless as they are, the SE politicians will be smart enough not to sign up. Signing up means signing up to Military occupation by a sectional army in the name of terrorist fighting.

John Eneche is from Benue state. The implicit tribalism in your false assertion is ironic. Isn't the Nigerian Army a force drawn from all states? Does a declaration by a "son of the soil" in a professional force gives it more legitimacy than if he wasn't a "son of the soil"?

Your cognitive dissonance is comical.
