Even though Nzerebe has a point of a lack of clear demarcation between a public purse and a private purse with regards to Executives in power, one has to appreciate, condesend and empathise that the democratic process is still in its nascent state, a wild wild west reaction is to be expected but with time it would mature into something we can all be proud of. Lets not forget Nigeria is only 11 years old democratically, what does anyone expect from an 11 year old kid. Having said that Nzerebe should exercise patience, thank God he does not have a terminal disease, he should watch political proceedings from the sideline like other Nigerians who have being in a position of power and influnce but today whose relevancy in the current dispensation is nothing to write home about. He does not need to make or encourage utterances that could be misconstrued by an already jittery Militiary who have not only being found wanting in their operations in Plateau State but who have acted not too long ago subversively to the Acting President. Remarks like the one made by Nzerebe could be seen as a cue to strike or be striked. There is a current game of nerves and brinkmanship between the Office of AP and the Militiary each watching the other's next move. Nzerebe by stoking the already heated polity with such crass, insensitive and unwise words should be condemned. He should be reminded that he is not just a Mr Nobody but a gladiator in the Nigerian Political terraine who should be carfeul of what he spews out of his gullet. Of course his entitled to his opionion, he should however re-visit such veiwes when the country has being run democratically for 20 to 25 years. Ghanian Democracy has grown leaps and bounds because they are in their 18th or 19th year of Democratic experience. It took them 16 years to conduct the freest and fairest election in Africa. I sense Nigeria is nearing that holy grail, JG seems determined to get it right next year, we hope next year's election will make and not break Nigeria, I pray it is the former rather than the latter. |

Tribal bigots are only supporting Nzeribe because he's of Igbo stock, same bigots whine whilst accusing the Hausa's of breeding kleptomaniacs. This is a joke right Ever wondered why he lost his senatorial seat? Ever wondered why he was suspended in the Senate even when his kinsman was at the helm of affairs in the Senate? Nzeribe is a political cancer that should avoided at all cost. The only man who terrorized OBJ to the point that he OBJ admitted that the lowest moment of his presidency was when he faced impeachment. |

adconline: Oh please, as if you don't do the same, infact you did exactly what you are accusing in this very post. |

Oh please, as if you don't do the same, infact you did exactly what you are accusing in this very post. He was against Chuba Okadigbo and was on OBJ's side, later on he turned against OBJ. Just to clear the air that his tribe has something to do with those who support him. It's clearly not the case, so the inference is wrong. |

Who made these clowns the final arbiter that laid down the gauntlet and ruled that democracy is the best system of government and the only one system of government for Nigeria? Democracy has failed Nigeria before now and every indicator is pointing to another colossal failure. |

Democracy has failed Nigeria before now and every indicator is pointing to another colossal failure. It would be within the remit of the SSS, the NIA and the other one forgotten its name to invite Nzerebe for question, maybe he would like to throw more light on some of the clandanstine nocturnal meetings he has be having with military commanders. His comments are a direct slight to Jonathan's leadership and the whole democratic experience and I will not be suprise if rtr General Gusua invites him for questioning. |

KnowAll: You can not wish for Nzeribe the incidents designed for a totalitarian government and at the same time converse for democracy. I must submit that majority of the people criticizing Chief Nzeribe over his alleged interview do not know one iota of democratic principles. |
Re: Nzeribe At It Again; Calls On Military To Take Over! by TippyTop(m): 3:17am On Mar 14, 2010 |
Dede1: By castigating Nzeribe over his interview one would have thought one is supporting the tenets of democracy. Supporting a man who called for a military take over is hardly democratic principle. |

Tippy Top: I have no issues with political minnows that tend to see unwarranted endeavor on the part of Chief Nzeribe but had it up my eye balls with those people who suggested placing a call to SSS and NSO to deal with the senator. Many of the critics have tendered unchecked utterances that could be discerned as defamation of character which is hardly a tenant of democracy. A person who plays within the rules of democratic principles should understand that any Nigerian can openly express and wish the president death. Democracy, as seen in USA which Nigeria is trying to imitate, even allows individuals of less status of Nzeribe to openly call death to Bush or Obama. Any Nigerian has a constitutional privilege to openly call for change of present government to military, oligarchy, monarchy or communism. Why has Chief Nzeribe’s exercise of such privilege provided by the so-called democracy engendered so much vitriolic diatribes teetering on defamation of character? All these unfortunate mudslinging that were directed at Senator Nzeribe by certain cross-section of Nigerian society put a shining question mark on the ability of Nigerians to handle democracy. |

Try and see issues outside the prism of tribalism. Why are you being obsequious to Nzeribe? Could this be because you're of Igbo stock? You're trying to obfuscate the issue people have with Nzeribe. Never mind people remember the role played by this puppet during the Babangida years. Forget the fact this man was a senator and he did not raise this issue when he was a lawmaker. You accuse us of calumny yet ignore the fact this man does better in the midst of chaos and war. Very few Igbo people have a symbiotic relationship with this dolt, many Igbo people know this man for what he really is. The Machiavellian machinations of this puppet will never come to pass. We shall trample on his grave if he thinks he can again cause chaos and sell weapons to the aggrieved parties. PEACE OUT!!! |

Why do we thing it has to be democracy or nothing. What drives the success of any nation is not really the kind of the government but the intention and ideology of the people at the top of affairs, be it military or democracy. In our case, we call it democracy but our leaders are there for their own personal aggrandizement. That is why our so called democracy is failing. Guys, what kind of government do U.A.E (Dubai), Qatar, Saudi and a lot of other highly developed nations that are the envy of the world practice? We should be more concerned with the leaders not the Kind of government. Nzeribe has only proffered his own solution to our present situation; instead of condemning him offer your own opinion. Average minds can only talk about people nothing more. EZIACHI, you are a man of great wisdom and intellect; Keep it up |

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Even the so called citadels of democracy in the world today, their is a limit they can take when it comes to the much touted freedom of speech. Freedom of speech is the reasons why the US and UK are fighting for their dear lives in Afganisatan and Iraq. The UK has in recent years re-vist the tenets of freedom of speech. Anybody no matter how higly placed u are, if u are seen to fuel racial hatred, community co-hesion, religious hatred, your God foresaken freedom of speech will not only be yanked from you, your sorry arse will be dumped in her majesty's prison b4 u are eventually deported to wherever u came from if u were not British. The new law has seen people like Loiuse Farahkhan, Snoop dogy dog, Ali Bakri and the fanatical islamic cleric Abu Hamzat alias Hook Hands either banned, deported or locked up in Prison. This law is called a law against terrorism, and it is a law that is all encompassing, in Nigeria our own terror is the Miliatary who have grasp power without due process on several occasion, steps should be taking to abhor and check this unfashionable, disgraceful and greedy way of power transition, laws should be put in place to curb such incursions and gate crashing into the corridors of power. The penalty of would be offender should be stiff, same should also apply to inciters and stokers. As Jakumo said Nzerebe a man who made his money whilst dealing and supplying instrument of destruction to various goverments in Africa will be more than happy in a chaiotic and anarchic Nigeria where people like him will have a leverage at perpetuating the blood money he craves for. Any intelligence agency worth its salt should in a matter of days apprehend this senile gentleman, and put him where he should belong. Bode George will not mind a millionaire like him as a companion, at least they would be able to rob minds on certain national issues. |

Tippy Top: Human nature can be funny at times. It is very unfortunate that you are the prognosticator of tribal sentiment to discourse and yet indict the dissenters of your tribal inclined political view of tribal bias. I am happy that Chief Nzeribe has been alleged to instigate the annulment of June 12 election in Nigeria. Any society that elected Chief MKO Abiola to a position of a dog catcher is very moronic. Given the public disclosed information about Nigeria, I would incline more to stand behind Nzeribe than Abiola. Today’s Nigeria had been left with unworkable and dilapidated lined telephone network as Abiola made sure that Nigerians are not suited for the use of telephone. Abiola, the ITT (International Total Thief), connived with ITT, Inc to embezzle more then 380 million dollar contract awarded in 1975 for telephone network in Nigeria. Thanks to cellular technology Nigeria would have remained in total incommunicado due to lack of lined telephone network. I shall reiterate that anybody who seemed ruffled because of annulment of June 12 Nigerian elections should jump off cliff. I do not give fig if Chief Nzeribe prospers in the midst of chaos or war. And certainly will not give a rat-arss if Nzeribe played second fiddle to Babanagida in annulment of June 12 elections. There has never been a time Chief Nzeribe’s name is associated with tribunals investigating financial impropriates by certain office holders in Nigeria. Yet few intellectual midgets in Nigeria would find succor among rumors and innuendos to tarnish the person of senator Nzeribe because the man bows to nobody. |
