Obi requested for a whopping 7billion but Obiano refused, that's why Obi is angry and bitter because he realised he could not pocket Obiano. 1 Like

patrick89:Thanks for ur understanding. You know that this guy said lots of things against PDP during Ngige tenure. Ngige - a principled man left PDP for better and entered AC. Pete had already sworn that he can never live APGA even when it was open he still maintained his ground. Later he vouched for a PDP he had spoken grievously of in the past. What a dishonour to self. He has spoken against god fatherism in the past and now in the present he has become the only god father in Anambra politics. That man is a chameleon. I hope that EFCC will be coming after him soon. 1 Like |

It would be nice have people offer comments and critiques from the position of facts and not hear say or sentiments. It may be hard to sometimes separate sentiments from politics but people must try. The reason is simple, for us as a people to move forward, we have to be able to distill the truth from lies, challenge wrong doings, hold our leaders accountable etc. Once they(leaders) realise that we are that smart, knowledgeable and less gullible, they can and will respect us, do the work for which we elected them i.e. govern well and make our lives more comfortable, better than they met it. I am not from Anambra and I have not been there to see the squalour but I can reasonably judge from Obi's detailed interview that facts do not lie. People with the contrary opinion should bring their facts to challenge the position. He has been out of office for a bit, he still has his facts and to the best of my knowledge I have not heard any challenge. In certain quarters, he is considered as a reference point for sanity and good governance. I think we then must move beyond the arguments of godfatherism but see the substance of the issue and avoid misleading a lot of impressionistic or less informed individuals who hope to get insights from this platform. While not saying Governor Obiano is guilty or not, let him defend himself with facts, let his supporters provide reliable evidence or verifiable facts for supporting him and those who oppose him should do the same. It is by speaking the truth and standing for the right that we can liberate ourselves and move forward as a people. This is my one Naira opinion. 4 Likes 1 Share |

I have no stake in Anambra politics, seeing as I haven't even visited my hometown since 2014, so I don't have any bias towards anyone, but Obiano has to be the most heavily promoted governor I've ever seen in Nigeria. I can't open a Sun newspaper anyday without seeing Obiano's visage plastered on the top-right corner of the paper directing to an article inside. Even today's own has it as usual. Article upon article upon article everyday from paid hacks, cronies and acolytes. He has to have waged the most extensive and most expensive publicity campaign I've ever seen from any Nigerian state governor. Couple this with him wearing clothes printed with his face everywhere he goes. And that nonsensical "Willy is working" in every corner of the state and on every thing he touches, including gift stationeries and kits donated to schools. The guy's narcissism is too much, abeg. And to be honest, other than some cosmetic touches to Awka, I haven't seen much that he has done so far to deserve re-election. But the truth is I'd still vote him for the simple reason I'm highly suspicious about any political figures who closely align themselves with godfathers. Peter Obi has even eclipsed the Oseloka guy. It's almost as if it's Peter Obi coming out for election and not Oseloka. And I'm never going to vote APC in Anambra, so I can't vote Nwoye. Chidoka and Edochie are just jokers. So Obiano at the moment looks the best of the bad options. |
