@AUGUSTUS MUMU EVEN WOMEN ARE DEFENDING THEIR HUSBAND AGAINST A FINANCIAL BANKRUPTY ARMY

WIVES of soldiers deployed to the north east of the country to confront terrorist sect Boko Haram have stepped up their protests outside the Nigerian Army's barracks in Maiduguri insisting that they will not allow their spouses to go and face certain death.

Over the last two days, the wives have staged protests outside the Giwa Barracks of the 21 Armoured Brigade of the Nigeria Army in Maiduguri, opposing the deployment of their husbands. Numbering over 100, the women have insisted that they will not allow their spouses to leave their homes to go to the captured towns of Damboa and Gwoza to take on the terrorists with the inferior weapons they were given.

BOKO Haram terrorists are reported to have murdered the wife of the emir of Gwoza after they sacked the sacked the town and took it over forcing the emir top flee into the surrounding hills for safety.

Gwoza, in Borno State, has been one of the town besieged by Boko Haram and has been under constant attack. Last week, the Islamist sect laid siege to Gwoza and eventually overran it but because their attack took place during a heavy downpour, the emir was able to use it as a camoflague to escape.

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt-General Kenneth Minimah has confirmed speculations that some soldiers within the rank and file of the military involved in the war against Boko Haram terrorists are displaying acts of cowardice, indiscipline and desertion from duty and that these constitute the greatest danger in the ongoing fight against terrorism.

THISDAY had in an exclusive report last month revealed that the troublesome Battalion 101 of 7 Division of the Nigerian Army was made up of lily-livered soldiers "whose frame of mind are rather attuned to comfort than engaging terrorists in a battle." Another report by the United States also indicted some soldiers in the troubled states for cowardice.

@AUGUSTUS DOES THIS REFLECT THE TRUE STATE OF THE SO CALLED BEST ARMY IN AFRICA.....PURPOTED TO BE THE PROFESSIONAL ONE

In addition to corruption, inadequate armament, low morale and possible collusion with the enemy, the growing rift between officers and non-commissioned officers (NCOs) in Battalion 101 of 7Division based in Maiduguri, has been identified as one of the factors that has hindered the country's counter-terrorism efforts in the North-east, THISDAY has learnt.

According to findings, the mistrust between officers and the NCOs is so bad that it has served to weaken the country's offensive against Boko Haram terrorists.

Investigations have revealed that the rift has seen the parties setting each other up and helped to expose senior officers in the army currently being investigated and face court martial, contrary to the repeated denials by the Defence Headquaters and Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, that no officer is being tried in the military.

“We hear what people say about us, and it’s not true. We’re soldiers and we want to fight,” the Nigerian corporal said, the exhaustion in his voice clear even down the crackly phone line from Borno state, where large swaths of territory have become plundering grounds for religious extremists Boko Haram.

“Most days we go out to face the enemy in Hilux [trucks],” he continued, hesitating before saying what came next. “You can imagine what happens to a human body when somebody fires rockets on a [soft shell] Hilux. Meanwhile, we all know the money to buy proper equipment is being chopped [stolen] higher up.”

Nope, gets your facts lined up strait. One guy in the ANC(SANDF never choose the end product, they just said what they will have and guess what the Gripen was the best choice) was offered some sweater by BAE not SAAB.

USA /NATO armies drive around Afghanistan and Iraq in similar soft skin vehicles Toyota/Ford/Landrover kind of transports.

If you drive Olifant tank at 60 km/h and Boko Haram drives Toyota Hilux at 120 km/h, terrorists will enter Pretoria while your SANDF is still in Mandela's village cheesy

@AUGUSTUS IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS CORRUPTION YOU WILL COME OUT WORSE AND HUMILIATED

CORRUPTION IN NIGERIA

Unfortunately, simply bringing in financial help and military hardware from around the world to help locate the missing girls is only a stop-gap measure for Nigeria: it will not halt the endemic problem of corruption that fuels insecurity.

Nigeria’s government and its armed forces and police are mistrusted by the people – nine out of 10 people said the police were corrupt in the 2013 Transparency International Global Corruption Barometer and 45 per cent said the military was corrupt.

The scandals surrounding so-called “security votes”, which allow politicians to appropriate millions of dollars behind closed doors simply by evoking “national security”, for example, are well documented.

Former president Sani Abacha is estimated to have allegedly siphoned off more than $1.1 billion using 60 “security votes”, leaving the Nigerian military extremely under-resourced. The slow response to Boko Haram’s abduction of the girls is a legacy of an institution not fit for purpose.

In the recent Government Defence Anti-Corruption Index, which rated 82 countries on their anti-corruption policies, Nigeria’s score indicated a very high level of corruption risk. It was criticised for its lack of overall transparency and having no anti-corruption plan in place for the military, no training for personnel, and significant opaque off-budget military expenditure.

No, we fight Boko infantry mixed with civilians inside towns.

Let me see SANDF fight Seleka rebels mixed with civilians inside Soweto township so you can use G-6 Artillery guns and Olifant tanks o show your power inside Soweto, that SANDF artillery commander will be murdered by those who killed Lucky Dube cheesy

NIGERIAN ARMY DENIES THEIR SOLDIERS OF OCTOBER'S SALARY
Wonder shall never end in Nigerian Army, as corrupt as the Nigerian Army system is there has never been a time when troops salary is not paid.
Despite the fact that the least Soldier supposed to be paid N100.000 plus as stated by the President of CBN, yet even a SSGT is not paid that much let alone a private Soldier.
Soldiers are been denied their allowances like FURNITURE ALLOWANCE, TRAVELLING CLAIM, to mention but few. we're now in November, the Soldiers don't even know when they're going to be paid or not. They were not hinted or briefed about what's going on. Why? THE FEEL OF IMMUNITY ABOVE EFCC.
The question is this:
Is Nigeria Army above EFCC?
Does Mr President has hand in these? If no why has he not taken a step about Soldiers E-payment directly from CBN?
Is CBN president innocent? Or only claiming to be?
You should all watch out because Nigerians are looking, the soldiers are not happy, WE ALL SAY YES TO EFCC IN NIGERIA ARMY.
