MikeZA: South Africa could go ahead back then and start throwing this devilish weapons at Nigeria. Reducing Abuja to radiation ash. Those nuclear bombs are deactivated and expired. You end up b.lowing your own South Africa into pieces if you try to use it. Ode...Bobo Odenson . 3 Likes |

FighterPilot: Nope ! The piracy attack was on a Greek ship inside Angola waters, just left Angolan harbor, the call for help was sent to Nigeria when the ship was being threatened inside Angola. What the fvck ! It's not Nigeria that signed to protect your SADC local region including the whole of Angola, it was South Africa you buffoon! agaugust: You are quite clearly insane. 'He never said any of that, What he said is that we would have had to chase pirates whom had a 1500km head start, and whom were moving away from US. We have no mandate to protect Angolan waters, it is not our responsibility and quite frankly not our problem. We have a Navy that performs the BEST anti-piracy operation in Africa - ZERO ATTACKS in the waters we patrole We have the Navy the has the BEST conventional warfare capabilities - sinking ENTIRE NATO task-forces during exercises The Nigerian Navy is a brown water, un-operational pile of rust. Your only operational vessels that can go to see are second hand obsolete gun-boats. You are ordering more gun-boats from China. The only real warship in Nigeria has not gone to sea since 2012 and has spent more of its life tied to the docks than it has at sea, not to mention it has been crashed multiple times. The Nigerian Navy cannot even police its own waters - why would we want anything from you? 2 Likes |

agaugust: The mutual defence pact says nothing about pirates, and if a nation wishes to invoke the Mutual Defence Act they must submit documentation to SADAC within 30 days before any members can act - thus it is a passive defence pact not an ACTIVE defence pact http://www.issafrica.org/pubs/Books/ProspectsForASecurity05/AppendG.pdf so in conclusion: 1. The attack was much closer to Nigeria than South Africa 2. South Africa has no responsibility to patrole Angolan waters NOT TO MENTION THAT YOU CAPTURED THE SHIP OFF THE COAST OF NIGERIA “Subsequent report from IMB on Jan. 25 located her about 50nm South West of Pennington Oil Terminal in Nigeria. http://www.punchng.com/news/navy-intercepts-hijacked-greek-merchant-tanker/ As usual your argument is reliant on lies and mis-information 3 Likes |
