You connived with the terrorists. You posted the terrorist videos. You helped the terrorists spread their propaganda.

In the terrorist video you joyfully posted on nairaland, 8 troops tops were over-ran by over 300 terrorists armed with 14.5mm, 50 calibers, PKM's and RPG's.

It is conflict.

The british had to beg the taliban for safe passage after they were over-ran in helmand province, afghanistan.

The terrorists you spread their propaganda on nairaland have and continue to feel the wrath of the nigerian military even into chad, niger and cameroun.

Nigeria is battling insurgents from mali-algeria - CAR (your SANDF ran away from).

This guy is just making stuff up now!!

The British never had to negotiate any safe passage with the Taliban!! They were never over-run!!!

And posting their videos is evidence of Nigerian military incompetence- maybe if Nigerians were honest with themselves they could get the NA to properly equip, train and support the boys in the operational area. But instead you blindly listen to state propaganda and refuse to see the facts - and as a result NA troepies will continue to pay the price

And we wanted to go back into CAR but the relevant regional body dident give us the go-ahead

And no, you are only battling insurgents in northern Nigeria - don't try tell us that all those groups in all those countries are the same body

Among other major customers for Russian rotary-wing aircraft were China (52 Mi-171E helicopters for $624 million), Afghanistan (10 aircraft, to be purchased with Pentagon money), Sri Lanka (14 Mi-171Sh helicopters), Nigeria (about 10 Mi-17/171s), Ghana (six Mi-17s) and Argentina (three examples of the Mi-171E modification).

AN ARMY ON THE RAMPAGE KILLING CIVILLIANS WITH IMPUNITY

Corruption and gross, malicious ineptitude of the fourth republic has taken its toll on the Nigerian security department, the last remaining, touted vestige of decency in the nation. It can no longer be denied that the military and entire security network of the nation right up to the office of national security, ONSA and ministry of defense has been compromised.

In September last year, PremiumTimes and SaharaReporters broke a story about a security massacre of innocent citizens squatting in a building in Apo area, Abuja. The Nigerian forces had reportedly simply fired upon squatting civilians who they were reportedly trying to evict from the building. The security department claimed it was a battle with terrorists and that guns were found. Their claims were all later proven to be lies and this month the Nigerian Human Rights (NHRC) indicted the Directorate of State Security, DSS of murder.

Prior to this, there had been several reports and serious complaints by human right associations and concerned citizens that the military was killing as many or more innocent civilians than the terrorists were, as it battled Boko Haram in the north. There were and still are many complaints of the military actually withdrawing forces to permit Boko Haram terror attacks, including in the killing of distinguished army veteran, General Muhammed Shuwa in 2012, in whose case it was reported by PM News that soldiers actually watched as he was killed.

Boko Haram Militants Relocating From Sambisa To Captured Territories In Northeastern Nigeria

Eyewitnesses in the villages near Sambisa forest told SaharaReporters that the insurgents had been moving their families and possibly many of their abductees to safer grounds in towns captured in recent weeks.

llagers living near Sambisa forest in Borno State have reported seeing a large number of Boko Haram militants leaving the wooded redoubt yesterday morning and moving towards southern Borno.

A security source, who spoke to SaharaReporters, confirmed the account of the villagers. He said Nigeria’s intelligence agents were aware that members of the deadly sect, who had been holed up in a thick forest the size of Western Virginia in the United States, seemed to be relocating to the large swath of territory they have captured in recent daring attacks.

The new Nigerian National Identity Cards launched Thursday by President Goodluck Jonathan, with branded logo of the American firm, MasterCard, have sparked outrage across the country amid fears of serious security and economic breach, with many Nigerians calling for an immediate stoppage of the deal. -

TACTICAL DELAY BY THE NIGERIAN SOLDIERS AS WAS WITH TACTICAL RETREAT

The Nigerian military is in the process of constituting a trial panel to try over 100 soldiers said to have exhibited “acts of cowardice” and “disobeyed deployment directives” in Maiduguri on Saturday, reliable military insiders have told PREMIUM TIMES. The soldiers were among several hundred troops being deployed from the army’s 7th Division in Maiduguri to locations in Damboa and Gwoza for major operations planned to significantly rout the extremist Boko Haram sect from the areas. “But as we were about to depart, some of the soldiers began to behave funny,” a witness said. “They were acting in ways that were delaying the movement. This was a movement that had been timed and we had to arrive locations at a time that should coincide with other operational arrangements. And then these guys were slowing us down.” The witness said at a point, the commander of the troop became fed up with the antics of the “lazy soldiers” and he immediately ordered that they be disarmed, stripped of their uniforms and dropped from the operation. The rest of the detachment then continued the journey, our sources said. Other witnesses corroborated these disclosures. -

Nigeria On The Precipice: Why It Has Failed To Defeat Boko Haram And What Must Be Done Now! By Dr. Ijabla Raymond

Nigeria is a regional power and has taken part in many successful peacekeeping missions in Africa and around the world. Unfortunately, this giant is now confronted with a type of problem that it seems incapable of solving on its own. Only last week, a Channel 4 Dispatches documentary entitled “Nigeria’s Hidden War” revealed damning footages of unprofessional behaviour and gross human rights abuses by Nigerian soldiers in their attempt to contain BH. Their methods were indistinguishable from those employed by BH and have been rightly condemned by Amnesty International.

Quite why the largest army in Africa with its impressive record of successful international peacekeeping missions cannot defeat a domestic terrorist organisation is everybody’s guess. Why was this organisation even allowed to grow when it could have been nipped in the bud? The failure of the army to defeat BH has been attributed to corruption, unprofessionalism, under-resourcefulness, lack of equipment, poor motivation, the deliberate crippling of the military by successive military governments to prevent coups, and the infiltration of the army’s rank and file by BH sympathisers and saboteurs. But there is a more important reason - poor understanding of BH's mission or a denial of it.

The Prime-minister was almost assassinated by the IRA. The ruler of Great Britain lost her entire government.

They fought the IRA militarily for 27years, and could not defeat them, and had to settle for a political settlement.

So with 11 new MI-17's, the NAF MI-17's fleet has grown to 15 MI-17's.

And, btw, just to educate you... none of the casualties of the bombing were on thatchers cabinet... none of them were even government employees

Five people were killed, although none of them were government ministers. Those killed were Conservative MP Sir Anthony Berry, Eric Taylor (North-West Area Chairman of the Conservative Party), Lady (Jeanne) Shattock (wife of Sir Gordon Shattock, Western Area Chairman of the Conservative Party), Lady (Muriel) Maclean (wife of Sir Donald Maclean, President of the Scottish Conservatives), and Roberta Wakeham (wife of Parliamentary Treasury Secretary John Wakeham). Donald and Muriel Maclean were in the room in which the bomb exploded.[6]

Okay according to your own logic, the political settlement with Cuba of the Bush War that kept Angola free from South African power expansion is therefore a.k.a complete victory for Angola and complete defeat for South Africa

Our goal was to get Cuba to withdraw its troops so that we could give independence to Namibia and not worry about having another border nation become communist
