In this case the only thing to do was to pull the white flag and then call in for reinforcement.
Even though the soldiers on the ground (your special forces who by the way specialize in 100m records) are afraid and anxious to pull out.

Poor military planning, ill-equipped for the mission and unfortunately people's fathers and sons and brothers paid dearly with their lives.
