NAF Hind doing NOE!!!

The only evidence available is a Nigerian Hind doing a very low altitude flight course, none from the SAAF.

while you are at it, Point out the dust to show the Helicopter is lifting up?

The Hind M has no NOE capabilities

That Hind is taking off.

Why are you avoiding the majority of the capabilities of the Rooivalk?

Rooivalk Specifications:

Thales TopOwl Helmets
- A Thales Avionics TopOwl helmet-mounted sight display (HMSD) provides the crew with a head-up display of information for nap-of-the-earth flight (NOE).
- TopOwl incorporates an integrated measurement system for directing an articulated weapon such as the cannon, or air-to-air missile seeker heads (look to kill capabilities).

Electronic Warfare
- Rooivalk's electronic warfare suite is the fully integrated helicopter electronic warfare self-protection suite (HEWSPS)
- incorporates: radar warning, laser warning and countermeasures dispensing system.
- The system is flight-line programmable and in-flight adaptable to match the threat library with the mission's area of operation.
-radar warner features low-effective radiated power (ERP) / pulse Doppler radar detection beyond radar detection range, ultra broadband frequency coverage, high pulse density handling and internal instantaneous frequency measurement.
- laser warner provides broadband laser frequency coverage to detect and display rangefinding, designating and missile guidance laser threats.
- the countermeasures dispensing system, which is operated in manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic mode, is charged with chaff and flare cartridges.

TDATS (Target detection, acquisition and tracking)

- The TDATS sight is equipped with a low-level television sensor
- Forward-looking infrared (FLIR)
- autotracker
- laser rangefinder
-laser designator.

Navigation
- Doppler radar velocity sensor
- Thales Avionics eight-channel global positioning system
- heading sensor unit and an air data unit.

Communication
- two VHF/UHF transceivers with FM, AM with digital speech processing
- one HF radio with frequency hopping
- secure voice and data channels
- and an IFF transponder.

4 units of 20mm anti-aircraft cannon

6 units of 12.7mm heavy machine gun

Radars for surveillance and fire control

Now that's 10 anti-aircraft weapons with several radars on SAS Drakensberg in Ivory Coast, yet South African navy ran away from Nigerian Alpha jets in Seleka style race, you had 50 times better anti-aircraft defenses on that supply warship than Boko Haram ever dreamed to have, yet Bokos challenged NAF Alpha jets, South African navy failed to try it....ran away back home just because Nigeria showed 1% of it's military might....SAN + SANDF = Cowards of Africa.....Boko Haram has more courage than South African military forces
.

Augustus

It is a lightly armed support vessel

Manually operated 20mm and 12,7mm are of practically no use against jet fighters

Again, well done on scaring off a lightly armed supply vessel - a military cargo ship - you must feel really brave grin grin grin

LOL....mumu, Egyptian navy is buying the 2012-2016 version, and armed with anti-ship missiles , it's a different Type 209 submarine configuration that Egypt is buying, your Southie versions are 1990s version and older, you also have NO SINGLE anti-ship missile on your own submarine, South Africa needs to copy Egypt you dundee !
.

The Egyptian Government has signed an agreement with Germany for the procurement of two Howaldtswerke-Deutche Werft (HDW)-built SSK Manthatisi-class Type-209 submarines
http://www.naval-technology.com/news/newsgermany-deliver-two-type-209-submarines-egypt

Manthatisi class is the class of Type 209 operated by the SAN named after the lead vessel - THE MANTHATISI
http://www.naval-technology.com/projects/sskmanthatisi/

South African version of Type 209 is so impressive that even mighty Egypt wants them!!

FYI: No anti-ship missiles on them

That is a Hind taking off? Taking off from tree top? The empty desert and trees below are an airbase? Envy is wrecking the shiit out of Patches.

NAF Hind flies in Nap Of Earth almost hugging the ground inside combat zone to terminate the lives of Boko Haramites !

The Hind is successful with 2,500 units sold by 1995, now it's likely about 3,000 units of Mi-24/35 Hind sold around the world, yet the Russians do not have any boasting website for it, the Hind sells itself without noisy advertisement, but Rooivalk has no buyer outside SA, so you make noise about everything that is true and false to get buyers out of desperation.

Airforce Technology website simply defines the Mi-35M Hind with one sentence "Modern state-of-the-art avionics."

How many modern combat helicopters make noise about NOE capability? You think Apache and Tiger cannot do it?

The NOE that was marketed on Rooivalk is fake, it was tested and failed, Rooivalk crashed.

Mi-35 Hind is not making noise about NOE, yet it is doing it successfully in combat many times, the photo is now out to prove it, thanks to Nigerian air force.....look again at the NAF combat photo below and commiit suiicide o South Africa.....
.

1. That is a hind taking off
1a. Hind M does not have NOE capabilities
2. List Hind M capabilities for comparison to Rooivalk
3. NOE on Rooivalk is not fake - do you wish to see video footage of Rooivalk NOE capabilities?

Best warships and submarines in Africa are :

1. FREMM Frigate Morocco

2. Meko A200 Frigates with 180 km Exocet missiles, Algeria

3. C28A Frigates with 250 km range C-802 missiles, Algeria

4. Tiger Class Frigates with 130 km range missiles and 100 mm main gun, Algeria

5. Year 2010 version Kilo Class 636M Submarine, Algeria

6. Year 2015 version Type 209 submarine with 120 km range Harpoon II Anti-ship missiles, Egypt.

You see, South Africa does not even appear in top 4 warships and top 2 submarines in Africa....SAN is lost in project biro
.

So you completely avoided responding? You running away from comparing what the Nigerian navy has aquired in the same period of time??

Egyptian subs have no harpoons - AND ARE BASED ON OURS

Kilo is inferior to Type 209 - Russian diesel subs are notoriously bad

So much so that Korea and New Zealand turned down FREE ones from Russia

While not yet confirmed, this has to include the replacement of old computers. It would also make sense to integrate the Denel Dynamics Mokopa semi-active laser (SAL)-guided missile, which was developed for the Rooivalk, but has not been acquired by the SAAF as yet."

And Project Biro has already achieved allot

3 Strike Craft were converted into OPV's while Durban Naval Station is in the process of being upgraded into a fully fledged Naval Base - all under the Project.

Finally, Project Biro is no-where near as old as you are suggesting.

I see that the SAN's foul swoop to aquire an entirely new Naval task force of 4 Frigates, 3 Sub's, 3 Frigate Sized OPV's and 3 IPV's (which can perform de-mining duties) in less than 20 years is causing allot of Nigerian tears.

I am not even going to comment on that artical, how it is open to interpretation, how you misquoted it, or the numerous inconsistencies in it.

Why?

Because it is all irrelevant. It doesnt matter if the Rooivalk was steam powered and its computers were stone abacuses.

All that matters is this:

1. The Rooivalk has not only more capabilities, but more advanced capabilities, than your Hind
2. The Rooivalk is a wholly indigenous design and development, unlike your Hind.

Thats it, Rooivalk is being upgraded because WE IN SOUTH AFRICA want a platform that is on par with the likes of the Apache, Tiger and Z-10. If WE IN SOUTH AFRICA were only concerned with something that was on the same level as your Hind, it would never be upgraded, and would have been developed in half the time.

Lets not even mention the cognitive dissonance you display in calling the Rooivalk "obsolete" when your own country operates the Hind.

Dude, dont you have something better to do with your time?

I am all for actual debate about military equipment

But such pointless arguments?

SAN has said it is getting them, tenders (and funds) have been released for the task and a Naval Base has been built for them to operate from, while the SAN has allready put plans in place to hire the extra 600 sailors who will crew them.

It is obvious that Biro is going to be completed on schedule.

Yes, it's a 450 ton MPV with long range to patrol only near home close to South African coast, it is too small a boat to do OPV work or else high sea storm will sink it with high waves, or the high seas turbulence will make your sailors so sea-sick they will vomit out their intestines.

So, your 4,000 nm range will be used to perambulate around homeland waters while pirates are busy in the high seas robbing and ruling.

Now we see a 450 ton SAN patrol boat that could not dare go to Mozambique channel.....ZERO force projection.....reason for struggling to revive project biro.

Enjoy your 4,000 nm range patrol boat sailing round and round in circles only near home land coast Cape Town . LOL. Toy boat
