Just what I've been saying, the rate of expansion is too fast and the state government can't cope with it.
There must be a way of reducing the money flowing in or the state government steps up in the provision of necessary infrastructure.
Those living outside Anambra or maybe had visited long ago may not understand what we are driving at.
The rate of growth and expansion is way too fast abeg.

You are right. What if in the future, they want to build a major park or highway or railway; or even plan to dualize arterial roads. This will be a major problem. The only remaining option would be unfortunately to knock down so many buildings and compensate the owners. This would me way more expensive.

Chino, , Anambradota and others close to the government should help with this development, is the state government to reduce the flow of money or increase the tempo in the provision of necessary infrastructure?
Remember that if Anambra has a separate currency today, it would be grossly overvalued because of the influx of hot money into her econmy

However, even with limited resources,
State Government superintending over these fastidious multiplicity of developments mustn't let down her guard nor rest on its oars, but quadruple her efforts with an alacrity of adrenaline rush, propensity of beyond speedlimit, assiduousity for tenacity, temerity for prosperity, every fiber of her vigor must be strengthened,
Urban renewal and regeneration should be the checks and balances so we don't run off track, buildings on major right of way, will be demolished, and developers need to fall in line with stipulated masterplan, else defaulters be made to pay the ultimate price for their indiscriminate erection structures on right of way, drainages and off marked areas.

No time for talk talk alaye needs to double hustle, like my odua pals do say,
we need the government in collaboration with the estate/property developers to make provisions for recreational facilities, shopping malls, transportation parks, open markets bars, hotels, eateries, schools, parks, office complexes, waste disposal points, Industrial Estates, surveillance system, Ict parks, security posts, integrated farm settlements etc

Proper drainage/storm system will help curtail the incessant flooded streets we experience during downpours and it's accompanying season.

Now another observation is that of environmental codes and implementation,
Our environment conforms to how we keep it, we need more landscaping and ornamental tree, shrubs, grass flowers planting and grooming, To improve the livability and eco-friendly ambiance and aesthetic of our localities, vicinities, principalities and cities.

The estate developers should be mandated by compulsion to make their estates eco-friendly, while government put in mechanism of deterrence for erring defaulters.

We must endeavour to disallow ourselves of the ensnarement of turning our cities into concrete-jungle, glad world Bank is assisting in curbing the menace of erosion,

My stitches of skepticism is roping me into the curiosity of how the government is metamorphosing paper works into tangible realities more like developmental transubstantiation lol, especially the proposed gas fired power plant, century power plant, aerotropolis project etc Biko kedu Maka ife ndia, kedu Ebe olu jedebee,

Great job you are doing Investnow2013. I don't think anyone should stop the state from developing just for government to provide roads.

This road is definitely being provided by owners of the estate or landlords association. I also hope they build gutters quickly if not erosion will begin before they know it.

Most towns and communities with electricity in the SE was provided through communal effort. Imagine where we would be if we waited for government to provide them and restrict development? Governments in Nigeria at best will be obstacles to development. Hoping on them before you can start development or giving them a reason to collect bribes in same of frustrate real estate projects because many people are investing in now is a warped thought

Great shots investnow2013!
I love how everyone now drill borehole for water needs in the houses for the residents. This is another responsibility of government which we know they will never provide such infrastructure as piping water to every home. Thus, everyone providing their own borehole or wells and pumping water into a reservoir largely takes care of water needs in a typical Nigerian home.

I think the government can legislate that every house must drill a well or a borehole for those who can afford. Then water MUST be pumped into a surface reservoir through a pump. So that the wells are sealed and not become sources of water born diseases if they are open hand dug wells we used to have in Nigeria.

The next move is to allow private individuals to generate power and distribute to limited areas or cities. That will solve the issues of chronic lack of power in Nigeria. The more you remove responsibility for anything from the government and hand it over to private companies, the better the services. See how all of a sudden telephones work in Nigeria because it was finally removed from control of government. Once government touches anything, they kill it with corruption and ineptitude.

Borehole is very unsustainable and leads to underground water depletion. We need public utilities to supply portable water to homes. This is the standard all over the developed world.

Obiano Targets Completion Of 40 Road Projects Before End Of Dry Season

Padua-Ring-Road
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this when he inspected construction work on the 5kilometer St Anthony of Padua ring road with spur to Ugwu Odu Udala /Eke Market Road, Igbariam.
During the inspection, it was observed that the road which was awarded late last year, has been been cleared while earthwork and asphalting has been done on a reasonable length.
Speaking after the inspection, Governor Obiano said the road is a major milestone in his administration's efforts to boost Agriculture as it leads to one of the agrarian communities of the state.
The Governor explained that the visit was to see what the contractors have done with the money he gave to them in November last year before he will release another tranche to them.
He revealed that his government has targeted to complete 40 roads which it started late last year before the dry season runs out.
The Commissioner for Road Infrastructure, Furniture and Maintenance, Chief Law Chinwuba said Governor Obiano matches his words with action and will ensure that the project is completed on schedule.
The contractor handling the project, Chief Neville Uchendu revealed that Governor Obiano has given them all the support they require to complete the Project and promised to deliver a quality project that the people will be proud of.
The traditional ruler of Igbariam, Igwe Kelly Nzekwe thanked Governor Obiano for remembering Igbariam community and assured him of their support.
Some of the villagers including Chief Celestine Mozie and Mrs Ngozi Okeke while commending the pace of work on the road, said they can now evacuate their agricultural produce with ease and thanked Governor Obiano for his benevolence towards them

Governor Obiano inspects asphalting work at the Amansea border road and Ekwueme Square
The State Government says it is leaving no stone unturned in giving the late former Vice-president, Dr Alex Ekwueme a befitting burial.
Governor Willie Obiano disclosed this when he inspected ongoing asphalting work at Amansea Border Road along Enugu-Onitsha Expressway preparatory to the arrival of the remains of the late Dr Ekwueme.
The road which is a Federal road is being asphalted by the State Government.
Governor Obiano revealed that the state government decided to undertake the project because of the personality of the deceased and the premium it attaches to the burial.
According to him, the road will create smooth access into the state for the expected large number of people expected to come into the state for the event.
The site engineer of the contracting firm handling the project, Mr Maher Dib said they are working day and night to ensure that they achieve the project before the Thursday deadline.
From Amansea boundary, Governor Obiano proceeded to inspect setting up of the ground at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, for the deceased's Commendation Ceremony.
It was observed that tents were being erected while electrification and beautification works were also ongoing.
Speaking after the inspection exercise, Governor Obiano said the facilities are put in place 100 percent by the State government to accommodate over 25,000 persons who would be attending the ceremony.
Describing the late Dr Ekwueme as an asset to the State, Governor Obiano said no amount spent to give him a befitting burial will be enough to repay his contributions towards the growth and development of the state and the country

Somehow, understand Obiano's quest to tar the road.
But isn't it the same Bubu and his henchmen coming from Abuja that will be enjoying the road they refused to tar because it is in a part of Nigeria? Why not just leave the road for them? Afterall, it will remind people still refusing to get their PVC to do so before 2019?

I think the only way Nigerians think is when you also prentend to be blind like them.

Anambra state government is all noise.
Anambra state is so dirty and disorganized, do you know that old telephone lines are still hanging on the electric poles in Anambra state.

The state is faced with one of the worst environmental issues but government don't plant trees or build closed drainage that will help curtail the menace.

Most roads are narrow and poorly done, people build filling stations inside residential hoods on one plot of land measuring 150ft by 50ft yet government is making noise of being proactive.

Onitsha - Owerri Road have been taken over by sand dunes and trees are growing on them because nobody evacuate the sand on the median section.

Niger Street is like a beach because of sand dredging, the whole place is disgusting, you go to Iweka and Moore Street you see Pigs roaming the streets of main market.

For the time being I have given up on Anambra and his drunk of a governor. Nnewi is very horrible, no need to talk that one.
