upon all what u go through, what do u guys have to show for it, common renovation of 500m road, Nigerian engineers can't do, we have to bring engineers from India.

Una no know anything, that y Nigerians have deemed it right that u work as teachers during nysc
I said it earlier that the system is in a mess.
The reason why you see all those foreign expatriates is because of corruption to steal more money.
Nigerian doctors on the other hand are no better. An average Nigerian medical doctor graduate is useless abroad. They don't know anything. They have to go through series of training before they are allowed to practice. It's not the same for a foreign trained medical doctor.

All you people just do is to cram books written by someone to just pass. No critical thinking.

Only poor and average Nigerian with no choice make do of Nigerian doctors. Our politicians knows how ignorant u people can be.

The Op is talking about the injustice meted to Corp member Engineers, that’s child’s play compared to what Engineers face in the Nigerian Society.

Let me tell you my experience, I was shortlisted as ASP Specialist Engineer in the 2016 NPF recruitment, till date we have not been called for training, why? According to them they Said Engineers are not needed, they opined we don’t do anything.

Normally after training Engineers pass out as ASPs, Medical Doctors and even Ventinery Doctors Passed out last year with the Rank of SP, that’s like a major in the Army, a rank that may take 12-15 years to attain if you start as an ASP on probation.

You can’t blame the Doctors and the NMA, and don’t compare the two revered profession it make your argument sound salty, Blame the useless NSE, who do nothing than to collect dues and organize shitty seminars and workshops.

Wow see stupid mentality that should be addressed. What Is there In medicine that yo re shouting,is it to cram and put down all the shiit
Have crammed or wht is special in theoretical courses
Yo spend all yo years reading and cramming what has been put down by someone without subjected to critical thinking and evaluation
Yo make use of book as if yo life depend on it because yo yoself don't even understand what it contains

Come to engineering field and see real analysis and thinking
Or do yo think engineering is just knowing a secondary school fundamentals calculations

And have it in mind all those medical courses yo just need to have yo 50percent and pass it
Because they don't make use of cgpa
And if yo aint very smart and brilliant at the same time yo could end up spending 7years taking engineering course which would have resulted from carry over
And who told yo that pple have not bn surviving before the damn existence of those medical crap we called doctors

And buying expensive textbooks means they would be using it even after their studies
Buh every textbook used by tech stdnt In any semester of his years of studies would never be used for the next semester
Thus yo must have known everything discussed on each textbook used for a particular semester

If they ask this one to come to the Cadaver room now undecided.

Really?
Just go the hospital on a Monday morning...you will most likely see one doctor who looks worn out as early as 7am.
You wonder why?
Because he has probably been in the hospital since Friday evening!

Don't even argue it. Those guys work long hours at a stretch

FYI, Nigerian trained doctors are doing excellently abroad. Are u aware d worlda only combined cardiologist and nephrologists had his MBBS at OAU. Show me what Nigerian trained engineers have done.

Stop displaying ur ignorance, in any country, foreign doctors are always examined and subject to further training before been licensed. Even if U.S doctors want to get Nigerian license, he will be made to write council examsand given further training in tropical medicine

Is that in Nigeria or where?

Because in many parts of Europe, to pass medial exam papers (theory & clinical), you may have to get 79 to 95%. Just to pass o. Depending on the subject. A pass grade in medicine is distinction in most other courses except Dentistry & Vet. Sci.

That 79 or 85% or whatever is weighted down to be 50% pass mark. For that reason cgpa is inappropriate.

High pass mark is NECESSARY. Simply because even if a doc knows everything else and just misses the concentration of your life saving drug by a factor of 10, he'll be hastening the patient's death instead of saving his life.

You also have to consider the psychological maturity needed for medicine. Because you will be dealing with people's lives: health/psychological, marital, job issues, homelessness, social problems, etc. At least the way holistic medicine in developed places is now in the 21st century.

I am an engineer and I am embarrassed for the half baked, ignorant, entitled jokers our institutions are churning out.

Doctors are paid more all over the world.

Medicine is far more tasking than engineering especially in Nigeria where 'engine boys' are fun guys and med students are tied to their books

Five years does not equate to a minimum of 7 and potentially 9 years pre NYSC.

Please just tell your fellow engineer this. I pray he understands this.

Let me not even start this morning to address the op's "stupidity", which he shifted to the society. The truth is very clear for anyone who wishes to grab it.

@op,
accept it or leave it: ENGINEERING CAN NEVER BE COMPARED TO MEDICINE in all dimensions.
Re: Injustice For Engineering Graduates, Corpers by Nobody: 9:08am On Mar 08, 2018
Na medicine I be wan read Na my papa non gree pay for pre-degree, getting medicine through jamb is difficult not that is impossible though. I knew in medicine and surgery insurance cover those guys interms of jobs and babes.

Even COREN and NSE are doing nothing about it, their own Na to collect monthly fees.

All my doctor classmates own a car and planning to get married, some already married; I dey here still they find job. You talking about NYSC, finish then you know the struggle is real for Engineers.

I swear, I still regret I went for NYSC, imagine an electrical engineer teaching secondary school students. It didn't even boost my CV, nobody wanna employ a fresh graduate without any experience.

Engineers should posted to engineering firms not necessarily an oil and gas firm. At least let that 1 year experience count.

grin grin both are actually crap in this country.. we still fly abroad for treatment because we don't trust our doctors, I also read an article that says Nigerian doctors r one of the worst worldwide..
For the engineers it's a no brainer, ivm is d only car company in Nigeria, and it's even struggling, our roads r given to foreigners to build, construction companies r owned mostly foreigners, d engineering department in my university were building power bikes and transformers for their final projects dats not d case for our graduate engineers..

I think computer science and ICT should be highly regarded than these other 2..

Saying it again that it's a big lie! There's always break in-between.

You will go to hospital and see a doctor that claims to be on 'round the clock' call spending 3 hours in the restaurant and leaving duty posts indiscriminately.
