They do so well that as an Asian you have to be near perfect to get into an Ivy league school whereas for Nigerians, you can perform relatively average and get into Ivy League schools since you would be compared against members of your race. Where are the inventions by Nigerians if they are so smart?

Yes, standard of living is incomparable but $1000 in metropolitan areas like New York is not easy to come by as well because it can take as much as 10 days of full time work at minimum wage to earn it. I know that places like New Jersey is a lot cheaper but the Nigerian example I used is for expensive cities like Abuja, Lagos or P.harcourt because other places like Umuahia, Akure, Onitsha, Kaduna etc you can get self contained apartment for as low as 60k per year or 5000 per month which is the equivalent of $14 per month. The fact is that living expenses takes a huge percentage of income in America unlike in Nigeria where once you are able to break through and become rich or even middle class, you can be able to make substantial savings but on the other hand, exchange rate can also make dollar savings huge when converted into naira.
