Men, I guess I've been missing a lot. I hardly come to this 'side' of this forum. Those of you who know me very well will see most of my posts at the Politics section.......I guess this is a cool place to chill out after a hard days work.

Cheers.

Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by ono(m): 3:59pm On Jan 17, 2006
I'll try to understand what mizkay's saying:

I guess she meant to say there's no age limit to erm, 'sugar mummism' - never heard anything like that. But I understand. She doesn't strike me like one, after taking a look at her pix. Mizkay, just tell them you are not a sugar mummy.

She ain't inviting anybody to see anything!!! Gosh, How guys can go wild at times. She's like, throwing her hands up in exasperation at how Agu can react to what she's said. Mizkay, I hope I'm right o!
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by AguNwoke(m): 4:04pm On Jan 17, 2006
Thanks for your interpretation ono, but we get it already
Chill out a bit though..

I was jus trying to inject a bit of humour into this forum.

BTW
There's nothing wrong with me finding Mizkay attractive!!
Haba! man no be wood o!

Ono....my darling, I should pay you to be my interpreter. You are more than spot-on on that one! thanks girl. Sometimes i feel so exasperated I DONT even know how to tell it anymore. want the job? (of interpreter that is? ) hehee
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by ono(m): 4:20pm On Jan 17, 2006
Mizkay is surely attractive. Two thumbs up!!
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by ono(m): 4:25pm On Jan 17, 2006
Sorry, I'm no girl.

Well, here in Warri, you'd have to be a daft not 'understand' when a lady is talking
I've never thought of doing the job of an interpreter..............I must be a multi-skilled, multi-talented guy at that.

Apology to Agu, no harm intended.

Just got a message from a fellow Nairalander on the music we used to jamm to back in the '80s..

Could anyone please let us know their personal favourites..

Cameo was one of mine.. Also, Alex O'Neal.. I saw him on the tv at the Miss World Beauty Peagant (the one done in China).. Da guy still the BOMB, crooning away with those special melodies.. he performed "Criticize" and "If you were with me now.." (I hope that's the name of the song)..

Another one that comes to mind is "Dial My Heart" by the Boyz.. And "Roses are Red" by the Mac Band..

Waiting..  smiley
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by wolerex(m): 6:57pm On Jan 17, 2006
howdy all,

truth be told, this forum is probably one of the best kept secrets on the web (kudos to all who have kept it going till now).

can anyone remember when Teddy Pendergrass was the king of ballards, Whitney could do no wrong, Micheal was sane & life was simpler.

But hey let's get real times change and so do people. cry

am 34 & i do not feel old (thank you). But that does'nt mean i understand some of what passes for conversations now (have got a younger sibling in law school & half of her conversation makes no sense to me. Now i understand how my father feels!! grin
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by bagoma(f): 7:33pm On Jan 17, 2006
ha ha ha grin grin grin
very funny, wolorex, i feel you, just like you you were speaking my mind. on the conversation bit.
sometimes when i come to these boards that these young ones participate actively in, i read and sometimes i laugh but most times i'm like 'what the hell are they talking about now'. cheesy

This idea is slowly turning into a farce. Seun, it appears you are quite reluctant and it will always be your call. I guess you have your reasons.

For the time being has anyone got an idea of an appropriate domain name that can be used to start the forum we require?

I expect some juvenile ideas, but I guess we just have to live with it.

Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by CimonJorr(m): 11:37pm On Jan 17, 2006
I'm inclined to disagree with you here bro...

I'd rather say this idea is taking a life on of it's own... Evolving along naturally.. I don't think we need to wait for Mr. Admin to create a special area for us to talk about whatever appeals to us.. All we're really interested in is just gisting about what we want to talk about.. whatever comes to mind.. music, fashion, etc...

For example, I can remember a time when if a dude didn't have his "BROGUE" shoes, his LINEN trousers, and his PAISLEY shirt, im never land.. Don't know if this fashion trend manifested for all of Naija, but it definitely manifested in Benin.. back in the day..

And BUGLE BOY reigned supreme..  grin

ps... And yeah, TP, Barry Whyte, Luther Vandros... those were the KINGS of SOUL ! ! !

Anybody in the house remember Najee, Bobby McPharen (The Simple Life..).. wink smiley wink

u guys are hilarious! on the issue of dressing, anyone remember lakeside and high waist trousers, baggies big enough for human heads. shocked the days when rap was all about grandmaster flash & kurtis blow. Billy Ocean & Lionel Ritchie where considered to be sex symbols and usher was a skinny squeaky voiced baby!!!!!

in all seriousness, i feel we don't need a special page to discuss whatever catches our fancy. this thread is proof enough of that fact.

let's face it, when am bored, reading some of the atrocious comments from the younger forum mebers does crack me up. who amongst us wil deny having been obnoxious in the past anyway smiley

Sade is still my baby for life... (Never was able to get the words of "Sweetest Taboo" out of my mind... despite all the years that have gone by)..

@ Wolerex..

Yeah.. you're damn skippy... I forgot the "BAGGIES" syndrome.. how could I..

was a bit skeptical about this whole 'A Place For Thirty-Somethings' thread but now you guys are talking about old school i just had to come out of lurking mode smiley

I used to run an 'old school' online station at live365.com for 5 years and i still dj at a few parties when i feel like it. My old online station is still there at http://www.listentosoul.co.uk/ the adfree version still runs at http://adfree.listentosoul.co.uk/ (unfortunately you have to be a paid member of live365 to hear it).

My best group from the 80s was Shalamar, Jeffrey Daniels was the bomb, he could 'outdance' Michael Jackson anytime smiley
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by prettyH(f): 1:33pm On Jan 18, 2006

*PS: Could Seun pls remove these despicable smilies. They are awful*
