This thread has brought back fond memories of school dances, and the days when music was music!
MJ whatever he might be now,I still doff my hat to him when one of his oldies comes on...the guy is/was gifted...
(I heard on the radio yesterday he is jobhunting and has been offered a job as some sort of consultant for setting up theme parks and music academies whereever he is now-Middle East? All the best to him.)
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by babagana(m): 9:57pm On Jan 20, 2006
Okay guys I just got in, and this turned out to be one of the most interesting placesI've been to in nairaland.
You guys made my evening especially @ababoy who happens to make everyone here excited. By the way where is Mike Okri now, he should roll out something, atleast Majek did after a long time too.

@AguMan I really enjoyed the 80's too but never enjoyed ABBA and the only reason was how do you dance to it
even when alone at home talkless of a party.

But guys I think you left out something and thats the Sooooouuuuuul Traaaaaiiiiinnn and the Don C. production.

kiss kisspeace and looooove!!!!!!!!!!!!

@babagana
You're so right how could we forget Soul Train cheesy grin
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by babagana(m): 10:16pm On Jan 20, 2006
Its quite a place especially with coming in of Eletric Bugaloo.......you know this dance has still not been replaced by any as good as it becos even the dance steps of Break Dance was only created out it and it never did last.
Till date its been done by very recent artists around the world without knowing its origins and the best steps.

Pls can someone send me the lyrics of the Temtations "papa was a rolling stone", "Masterpiece" and "America"?
Re: A Place For Thirty-Somethings by bagoma(f): 10:27pm On Jan 20, 2006

Hey I'm enjoying this thread. Ijebuman I used to listen to your Live365 station; in fact I got a few emails from you being on your mailing list. I might ask you some questions in PM about a few joints that I'm looking for or trying to work out artiste etc. I also used to dj a few house parties; now slowed down though.

A few joints that I remember (hopefully not repeating anything mentioned so far) without thinking too much

Kashif - Baby Don't break your baby's heart, Condition of the heart, Lover come turn me on

Brothers Johnson - Light up the night, Stomp, This had to be

Cameo - Freaky Dancing

Projection - Love Struck

Gino Soccio - Hold Tight

Lillo Thomas - Downtown, Sexy Girl

Stacy Lattisaw - Spotlight

Glenn Jones - At Last, The Romance is not over, Stay with me tonight

Strafe - Set it off

Kid n Play - Last Night

Howard Johnson - So Fine

Troop - Mamacita

Kwick - You're the kind of girl that I like

Andy Gibb - Shadow Dancing

Atlantic Starr - Always

Heatwave - Always and forever

Midnight Star - Curious, etc etc etc etc etc etc

Dynasty - Check it out, etc etc etc etc etc etc

Central Line - You've said enough, Walking into sunshine, Nature Boy

Michael McDonald - I keep forgetting, Sweet freedom

Malcolm Mclaren - Buffalo Gals

Starpoint - Bring your sweet loving bac, Wanting you, etc etc etc etc etc

I'll come with some more later if my co-geriatrics are still interested in reminiscing.

Keep funking! wink
