^^ I sincerely think your post belongs to the Jokes Section. I don't think the answers to these 'questions' will improve your grasp of English language. That's my opinion, though.

Abeg, tell am o.

Odunnu:

@Phate07, its an interesting read but thats not what this thread is about. We are doing 'common errors and mistakes' and your post is defunct of any error.
Maybe you should start a thread so we could discuss 'why is it that. . .?'

The guy funny pass Osita Iheme.

He should start a thread. It should be called 'Figures of Speech'.

Odunnu, na your pix be dat?

@OP, you're doin a great job. Keep it up! As for the poser, the correct one is: Joking apart, I meant it. But the 1st one is commonly used, maybe it is correct too, I don't Know

So how's understanding of the English language going to change your life, career wise?

Joking Apart, I meant it  [meant it? why not "mean it"?

People tend to use "Jokes apart, I mean it".
Re: ABC Of Common Errors And Mistakes In English by olaolabiy: 2:04pm On Oct 10, 2010
Correct! Thanks, my people.

And, Ileke I should have used 'mean' and not 'meant'.

That does not mean 'meant' is grammatically wrong, though. Eg. You did something 'quirky' last week and your friends now think it was off the cuff, a bit tongue-in-cheek Then you can use 'meant' if you truely meant it.

Told you all. Mai darling is BRILLIANT!

This English 'thing' happened in the 90's.

I am trying to serialize my book here.

I am not into the language again.

I am trying to take my career up a notch. Hence, my interest in professional accounting certification.

lol I do the "expantiate" thing. I even say it like that.

Trust me I knew the spelling but I pronounce it that way.

He didn't even wait for me to re-read my post.

Obviously, he had been lurking for a while, looking for mistakes, one way or the other.

Imagine this: I posted at [b]02:58:33pm

He must be jealous. Why? Well, I have you and Odunnu on my thead. Bad belle.

Jealous Arrow, is 'personally' an incorrect word?

'Personally' is an English word of North American origin.

'Take (something) personally' is actually an IDIOM
