Bomb disposal squads only put on their thick armour suits when diffusing a device. Once the device has gone off, its obvious that kind of thick outfit will impede subsequent forensic work. I thought common sense was common.

Dont forget the british have offered help. The police need to do the preliminary work by the book so the british can contribute.

How refreshing, on the very week of independence the British are offering to help- 50 years later

shouldn't we stop the British and their bbc people from coming so they dont show another this is abuja programme to rubbish us cool

I wonder why u guys are so surprise and confused with Nig Anti-bomb squad dress.
You should not forget that this is a country of many surprises and funny thing.
You see those guys there that call themself anti-bomb squad doesn't understand what Bomb is all about, beside that all what they believed is that the African Magic( AYETA;AGBE; AGBEFO etc) can save them from the TERROR of Bomb.I know by now if they av TV at home to watch the Bomb victim, all of them will be at CHURCH or MOSQUE for Thanksgiving for there FOOLS behaviours in inspecting Bomb car like when a ''FARMERS ARE IN SEARCH OF GAMES(ANIMALS) IN FOREST''. embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed embarassed sad shocked

Just like in America- the anti bomb squad will go there during the bombing - open their chest and fist, slam dunk the bomb, yank it off the car and yipeeeeee- display it to the bomber and say - here goes your bomb - abi?

For goodness sake girl don't you know when to accept correction from far more informed people and just shut up. Where in the world do you see anti-ordnance personnel doing their work with bare hands. The topic is nonsense in the first place since these men are from the mobile police force and not the ordnance corps of the Nigerian Army.
As for the pictures the mobile police personnel are simply carting the wreckage away. There is nothing there for you to deduce that they are looking for or disabling an explosive device.
Which correction? People are asking for the picture of the bomb squad and someone else posted a site that refers to the military army is a correction?
If you dont have the pix, kindly shut up and stop getting your boxers wrung up.

Since some geniuses in here claim that the OP's pix is wrongly labeled. . . .someone kindly post a pix of the bomb squad.

Or are you guys trying to say that the bomb squad didnt show up? Another group of Einsteins don dey claim that those are just "the MPP carting away the wreckage". A ti gbo! But before or after an explosive bomb, the bomb squad are supposed to be readily prepared [both in uniform and knowledge, because they never know if the area contains more bombs ready to explode in any given moment.

At times these Yanks are so naive as to believe just about anything. What is it about them and totally ignorant observations?

alabi, stop making excuses

all this stuff you're saying is one of the reasons why nigeria will never become great

rather than focus on our shortcomings and their resolutions, we prefer to wallow in denial

And you think coming on nairaland to comment so ignorantly and speculatively about one picture is the way to make Nigeria great. The Bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge which aptly describes many comments here.

From the above pictures all i see it them army officer messing up the crime scene big time, this is disappointing.

^Rubbish . You are known for your unwise generalisations but how can't you imagine that in fact the FIIB officers have not already done their duty?
Re: Picture Of Nigerian Army Anti-bomb Squad Inspecting Bombed Car. by Nobody: 5:01pm On Oct 03, 2010
the major problem with threads like this is simple - too many uninformed people post here.

I have seen the Police anti-bomb unit before live, they are usually dressed in complete gear during a bomb threat and most of the time go around with sniffer dogs.
Re: Picture Of Nigerian Army Anti-bomb Squad Inspecting Bombed Car. by xterra2(m): 5:02pm On Oct 03, 2010

But have you guys seen the Police Anti-Bomb Squad in the presidential Motorcade or the one during the Colorful Event at the Eagle Square on Oct 1 ?

It is better than the one uploaded here (the one with the white pick up)

The president has more security than the Country  shocked (the bomb squad i mean)

But i once saw a van of the anti-bomb squad diffusing a live bomb and detonating another one in a "controlled explosion"

The police may or not have a good anti-bomb squad but the should focus on preventing people from getting a bomb

Dont be daft . . . biometrics simply means this - use of physical traits (such as finger prints) or behavioural traits to uniquely indentify an individual. Has nothing to do with pen or paper. Do you use pen and paper to collect fingerprints? Ode.  Grin Even the new naija passport now contains biometric information.

All these ludicrous illiterates who come here show "i sabi". Make una read instead of skipping classes.

You're so ignorant it's ridiculous, listen chimp once this fingerprints are collected there stored in a database with a name, so these prints and that name can only be used ONCE, so if a person tries to use another name with the same print the computer detects it and refuses it!! Nigeria didn't do this in the last election, ink was used to take fingerprints and the names were recorded with pen and paper on a tired looking book so people simply went to other voting centres using fake names and SAME prints to vote twice trice and so on, THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF A BIOMETRIC CHIMP!! I was simply explaining to that guy that the new biometric technology is the best thing for Nigeria before you came in to show everyone how intelligently ignorant you are!! Even the UK just recently introduced biometrics late last year for their immigration.

Always trying to pick silly fights with people spending 20 hours on Nairaland everyday, get out and get a life.  undecided
