Kudos to all the brains behind this great forum called Nairaland..I have been following virtually all the sections with key interest,the information here are certainly invaluable..God bless us all.
I got an invitation from my friend in July and I scheduled an appointment for me,my son and my wife for the last day of August.Between the period of applications and the interview I read this great section from page 1-finish to equip myself with the right information.
To shorten the story I was at the US embassy in Lagos for my interview yesterday and to God be the glory I was granted the Visa.

Point to Note: You can do it yoursef without any agent cos I did it myself following the instructions gotten on this platform.
I have only been to Liberia and my wife has not travelled before.
From my experience today, I think all you need at the US embassy is God,Confidence and Luck.The VO did not asked me for any document.

My interview was for 1130am,I got there an hour earlier to avoid stories that touches.

Here is our transcript:

Me,My wife: Good Afternoon
VO: Good afternoon, Please let me have your passport
Mywife: Handed it over cos I was carrying my son.
VO: Where do you work facing my wife?
Mywife: Answered...
VO: Who are you going to visit still asking Mywife
Mywife: She answered.
VO..Now faced me,where are u going to in the US
Me: I answered..
VO: Types on his system and asked what I do for a living
Me: I told him where I work
VO: Please your finger prints both of us
Me: We did that
VO: How many days are you staying?
Mywife: 15days she replied
VO: Do you have any other child looking at my Cute son
Me: No I replied with a smile
VO: Asked who I was going to visit again
Me: I gave him the address and he typed and told me my friend's name
VO: Kept on typing and then asked if my wife had travelled before
Mywife: No she said with a smile without any hesitation
VO: Asked me same question
Me: I said yes to Liberia
VO: Pull out a white Paper and said when you get to Texas in few days time do take care of your son....
VO: He handed over the paper and We (Me & Mywife) both said thank you and left.

1.. Today i will make payment to GTB for appointment (I don;t have the account number, will they understand if i tell them am applying for US non immigrant visa?? What questions will they ask me at the bank?

2.. What is the next step after this payment?? If it's filling the so called form, pls give me the link to the page....

3.. My purpose of traveling is Visitation and Vacation (We will visit my friend and it's also our vacation period). Is there any difference between this 2 words in this context VISITATION & VACATION and is it reasonable to tell this to VO...

4.. I work outside Nigeria but i will apply in Nigeria with my wife, can i consider my job outside the country as a tie or it's a tie only if you are working in Nigeria.

5.. How many days do i have to book for appointment after making the payment?

6.. What is the page link to book this appointment..

7.. How many days do i have to complete the ds-160 form after making the payment...and before the appointment date??

In the column for (Usa Relative) should my spouse fill YES thathe has a relative though the us contact is my cousin or should he fill NO, then for the column for the (US Contact), should he fill Relative or Other as he used her address

Not quite - you need ties outside of the U.S.
If you work in Germany, and are married to a German, and have German children, but you yourself are a Nigeria... you are probably going to have better ties to Germany. And that is fine, but we also recommend that people in a situation like this apply in Germany.
On the other hand, if you are a Nigerian student in the UK, you probably don't have many ties in UK and need to consider applying for your visa in Nigeria where your ties are well established.

Don't change any detail because of the refusal, you don't need to know anybody in US you can use hotel accommodation.

If the money for the holiday will be coming from your actual business capital and not your profit then you probably need to reconsider the idea of traveling to US for holiday.

Got my visa approved today for 7am appointment.... Its God shaa.

My History........

I have been refused for like 3 to 4 times in the past. The last one was last year August when i wanted to attend my Cousin Graduation ceremony.I coud'nt answer some questions properly. for example, i was asked my Cousin Age and i totally forgot... Even though on a good day, i know it but some how somehow i mentioned a wrong age.... That was for last year August....

VO: started typing on his system.... Why are you going to US
Me: To attend my Cousin Wedding ceremony

Vo: What does been a ******* specialist mean

ME: I explain it better to his understanding what i do daily as my job function

Me: yes

Vo: checked my passport and saw i usually go to a particular country every year. He now asked what i usually go there for ( This same question was asked last year but because i wasnt expecting such question, i just said something that even me know is wrong.)
Me: My Company Head office is there and every staff is expected to go there at least once in a year for training and seminar.

Vo: started typing again and said your visa has been Approved. Pick it up on Monday and gave me a white paper with address.
Me: Thank you.


NOTE:
1) I didnt go with any document at all (well i printed the wedding iv and didnt use it shaa)
2) No document was checked/asked for (i didnt have any one anyway)
3) I watch the VO Google hangout and it was helpful

I am planning to apply for B1/B2 Visa,but not sure of the option to use,either to apply as Family or as a Single applicant(on Conference)
I am married with two kids,a Chartered Accountant working with one firm with an average monthly salary of NGN225,000 and my wife works with one of this top bank, with same average monthly salary.

Note 1) We both got a Tanzania Visa,on our passport for April,but couldn't visit due to some reasons,hence,both of us got no travel history.
(2)My Wife got her Blood Brother and family in US,who can send us invitation ( just vacation visit).
(3)I am trying to apply for a conference,maybe I should use that means, since the family doesn't have the travel history.
(4) We are both planning to have our leave for December at both places of work .

Question1) Pls advice on the most suitable and realistic option to follow in securing my visa,without prior travel experience, on either to go alone or to go with my family.
(2) May I know the average amount I should have in my Account if am going alone,and if going as a family?

It is not compulsory that you shld complete (finished) filling the DS-160. However, you will need to start the process because you will need the DS-160 confirmation No to schedule appointment.

Once you start filling the form online, you will have a confirmation no that you can use to schedule an appointment.

1) You will complete the DS-160 for each applicant
2) When you are done completing your profile information and scheduled your appointment, you will be able to add others. it will also ask for your payment receipt (for you and your wife). This mean you will make 2 separate payment in GTB

Secondly,go to ceac.state.gov
select ur country and where u intend to take ur interview then start to fill ur DS160 form,follow it carefully after submission u will see a link to add ur family members...

If you are the main applicant and you applied together,there's no need to open a separate account..You will add her in ur account and schedule ur appt together..
This is to d best of my knowledge cos dats what I did..Best of luck
