I will soon attend visa interview for a 3wk training in a US university. I had a rejection for conference visa last year.
i am employed with about 200k monthly.
I enrolled in d cooperative at my place of work, so monthly deductions(reflected on d payslip) are made to fund my wifes mini-mart. So my salary acct balance is about 250k.
But i want to use my savings acct with balance of about 1.2million.
How do i go about it. Do i use both or only d savings acct. Thanks

sorry about those guys delaying you with their administrative processing protocol et al.
Bottom line is they'd give you the Visa since you satisfied the CO during your interview@ the time (esp since they called you to drop your passport- it happened to someone I know).
Just be patient. Now the only ish, is when you travel, you may have some explaining to do with US immigration @ the Port of entry, since what you said you'd be going for has long passed. I just hope you are ready for that kinda probing.

Amazing! This same thing happened to a friend of mine but he was given the Visa after a while of administrative processing, his only challenge was at the port of entry cuz he was grilled by immigration due to the fact he missed the conference date.
I'm surprised- seems theres no telling about those guys, they can be totally random.

@fastlink, i applied for US visa with my hubby and we indicated that we were expecting a baby later April. we were refused based on Section 214(b) want to know what our chances will be if we intend to reapply immediately.or should i apply alone or forget about it all together. need to make an urgent decision on this. I am sorry to hear about your recent ordeal with the VO considering the fact that you have traveled to the US several times. However if not mistaken, i will categorically say that your rejection may have been because you indicated you were going to buy cars. A friend of mine went to apply for a visit visa last month and he was strictly advised by a colleague who work with the embassy never to say "YES" when asked by the VO if he will purchasing any car in the US. I asked him why and he confirmed that there is a ban for people who travel to the USA to buy cars and that you must be a certified and registered car dealer with an elephantine outstanding balance in your acct. Maybe you should change your purpose of visit next time and let God's favor do the rest.

Finally picked my B1/B2 2yrs Visa today and here is my experince .
In my appointment i filled B1/B2 and in my DS form i filled B1 so that i can use it after conference.

VO - where are u going in us?
ME - new york

VO - where are you going to stay
Me - Hotel and mention the same.

VO - how long are you staying in US?
ME - 5days

VO - what do you do ?
ME - Managing so so company

VO - how many people work for you in your company?
ME - mention it

VO - what do you do in your company?
ME - we supply so so product

VO - where have you travelled to before ?
ME - (UK)4x, (France)3x,(Germany)2x,(Belgium)2x,(Spain)once,(Turkey)2x,(South African)2x and Malaysian once .

Those guys havent got the time to check documents.They are always pressed for time.some people show up at the embassy with a shipload of documents,hoping that would sway the decision in their favour,but the cos are aware that documents can be counterfeited,and wouldnt rather waste their time on that.And,considering that some of State departments very best are normally posted to Nigeria,in light of Nigerias uneviable reputation,visa applicants have their work cut out.But,more frequently than not,a confident,composed applicant,who does not appear desperate will get his /her visa.Thats the kinda attitude the co's wanna see

those guys know that nigerians lie alot and fake documents. so the main thing is that if u can prove you have reasonable employment and you are of a reasonable age like say 28 and above.you good to go. its all psychology.

@ighojohn: don't tell dem you want to stay 3months. Say u'll stay 5days cos u don't want to leave your family for so long. U could take ur marriage cert and a pic. Emphasize d fact that u have a child in nigeria. U shld be fine. D v/o might nt even check any doc.

If you have to travel to the US, The reasons must be of Crucial significance (Medical ER, Funeral, Govt aide/escort etc)not for casual Holidays- unless God intervene's in your case, I promise, them C.O's will bounce you going for Holidays...

4-Unemployed
5-Going to the US 4 Casual Holidays
will MOST likely gonna get a Standard issue Denial.

That Visa payment receipt has a login Validity period of almost a year, I would suggest he cancels his appointment and go repackage himself properly to face American CO's, because he is obviously not prepared with his present profile & he better find another significant reason of Visiting the US, instead of Holidays.
