I don't know the authenticity of the document but for the sake of argument, if it was authentic - it's a claim that Muslims will use to prove that Islam is peaceful. That been said, the final authority on ALL matters of Islam is the Quran and the Hadith. So, when America invades another country i.e. Iraq for example, this is not a Christian nation invading a Muslim nation. There are thousands of Muslims in the US military serving in Iraq. On the other hand, there is not one Christian soldier in Saudi Arabia. So, just for the record, the US is not a Christian State, it's a secular one. That is why Muslims can build mosque here and worship in freedom, the reverse is not the same in Saudi Arabia.

2. the period of islam it was purported to cover ie at what stage of the muslin expansion

3. what was the context in which it was written

Christians don't believe he is Jesus because of his picture. If you want some Bible Study in this area, I will be glad to set the record straight but we can save that for another post.

The letter just like our national anthem, showed dat things were not okay, hence d advise from the prophet. Our national anthem talks abt peace, unity and progress. U only ask for these things where they don't exist.
