He needs to conquer Yoruba Muslims first.

Those ones have no identity. They have sold their soul to Sokoto caliphate.

Many countries in Africa is a mixture of Christians and muslims, leaving harmoniously, but a Yoruba muslim feels that once Oduduwa NATION COMES, His religion is dead. what a people
which is a wrong idea

Buhari government has exposed false marriage of One-Nigeria.

And if the South doesn't wake up, Buhari and his kinsmen will turn this country to another Syria-Libya.

But what is left for Nigeria to become another Syria/Libya? Very little left.

If you were a deep thinker you would see the flaw in that response. So your logic is all "yoruba in Nigeria" must leave and form ONE nation

my reply is even if we leave Nigeria why must it be ONE nation.

There will always be attempts to dominate.

e.g What will be the future of Lagos.? The Oba of Lagos has never been part of any fraternity with Oyo or Ife.
How shal we establish primacy among traditional rulers.

Lagos does not need Yoruba Nation. Yoruba Nation needs Lagos.

Who is representing Lagos in this Yoruba Nation project? Is Lagos not being taken for granted?

Today we have the likes of Tinubu, Aregbesola, Ambode, Remi Tinubu, Fashola, Lai mohammed holding sway They are not indigenes
Tinubu's daughter is Iyaloja despite not being an indigene.

Create your Odua nation but leave Lagos out of it. Name the most prominent Lagosian indigene or Oba that is part of it.

If you are shouting Yoruba nation

ShadowCracker:

Christistruth00 is it true that Lagos is not part of Yoruba nation.

On the day the British Colonial Government first landed in Lagos in 1851 Oyo controlled Badagry Area Which they had taken from the king of Dahomey along with Porto Novo (Ajase) in War . The Oyos had fought Dahomey as Allies of the Eguns
Aare Oona Kakanfo Oyabi had led the Oyo Army

The Abeokuta Egba Army Controlled all of Lagos Mainland Which they had won in the Ota War of 1842 in Which the Oyos of Ibadan fought as Allies of Oba Kosoko and the Awori and received such a heavy defeat at the hands of the Egbas that the Ibadan Army had to be smuggled back home.

The whole Episode almost led to the downfall of Basorun Oluyole back at Ibadan

The Ijebu Controlled Everything East and North of Lekki

All Oba Kosoko Controlled was the Slave market and Port of Isale Eko on Lagos Island, Even Ikoyi belonged to the Onikoyi who was an Oyo man

Again if you hear that Yorubas spent 100 years fighting themselves till 1878,

Just know that the Egba, Ijebu and Oyo Which included Ibadan were fighting for Control of the Coast of Lagos

Control of the Coast of Lagos meant Titanic Wealth. but unfortunately much of that was from the Slave trade

The Lagos territory Controlled by the Egbas , Oyo and Oba Kosoko belonged to the Awori People who were the most Peaceful and accommodating of all Yoruba Clans

Eko is Yoruba short for Ereko which means field and for Confirmation Ereko Market where the Egbas and Ijebu traded is still on Lagos Island today

Also Eko Ende in Osun State was one of the Locations of the Jalumi War of 1878

The Awori have inhabited Lagos since the 13th Century when they migrated from Ile Ife led by Olofin Ogunfuminire who was a great grandson of Oduduwa and a nephew of Oranmiyan who headed to Benin around the same period

The Otun Ekiti People migrated from Lagos in the 15 th Century and share the same ancestry with the Awori of Lagos

Finally the Oba of Lagos is of Ijesha Ancestral Lineage since Ologun Kutere whose mother was the daughter of the Oba of Lagos and whose father was an Ijesha man.

You make assertions as if you were there with your Iphone

British Colonial government landed. One day. just like that

Oyo was controlling Cape Town and Fernando Po in 1851 ?

Do you have evidence?

What was left of Oyo in 1851
All these randoms claims are not really substantiable or relevant here or to me

The main point is there has never been a singular empire under one umbrella despite the best efforts of Oyo, they did not succeed.

If it is to happen today it will not be because the Alaafin or his appointees say so

It was what was left of the Oyo Army that destroyed the Fulani Jihad in Yorubaland at Oshogbo in 1840

The Ibadan and Ijaye Armies were ethnic Oyos and still answered to the Alaafin with their full Chest

Until Aare Kurunmi of Ijaye rebelled against the Alaafin Atiba.

Ibadan answered to the Alaafin until the British Colonisation, till today Olubadan still defers to the Alaafin as the Overall Sovereign of Oyos

In 1878 at the Jalumi War again the Oyo Army Led by Ibadan inflicted a defeat that was so heavy on the Fulani Jihadists that they fled all the way to Kebbi without stopping before they knew the Oyo Army had not bothered to cross the river Niger in Pursuit of them and had halted at Jebba to Set up their Garrison there
