[b]WELL I HAD EXPECTED BAKARE TO HAVE USED HIS POSITION AS A MAN OF GOD HE CLAIMED TO HAVE MADE PEACE. HE SHOULD HAVE SHOWN THE SPIRIT OF GOD BY PREACHING PEACE AND FORGIVENESS. IF HE FELT THAT THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED AND KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT CPC SUPPORTERS TOOK THE LIVES OF THE INNOCENT YOUTH CORPERS, HE SHOULD HAVE COUNSELED BUHARI TO ASK HIS PEOPLE TO STOP THE VIOLENCE. HE WENT FURTHER TO SAY THAT THE ELECTION WAS RIGGED AND THAT HIS PARTY WILL GO TO COURT AND THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME THAT PEOPLE WILL RIG ELECTION. FROM THIS STATEMENT WHEN THE COUNTRY HAS BEEN ENVELOPED WITH VIOLENCE, IS IT NOT HIS DUTY AS A MAN OF GOD TO LET A SLEEPING DOG BE THAN TO HAVE MADE SUCH STATEMENT? HIS STATEMENT CLEARLY SHOWS THAT HE WAS HEATING THE POLITY. WHEN TWO ELEPHANT FIGHT, ONLY THE GRASS SUFFERS. IT IS WHAT COMES OUT OF OUR MOUTH THAT DEFILES US. PEOPLE WERE WAITING FOR HIM TO MAKE STATEMENT KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT HE IS A MAN OF GOD AND THE VP CANDIDATE OF CPC. HE SHOULD HAVE USED WISDOM TO HAVE APPROACHED THE WHOLE ISSUE. GOD IS NOT VIOLENCE OR VIOLENT. JESUS IS A PRINCE OF PEACE. GOD CANNOT ASK YOU TO BE VIOLENT WITH YOUR OWN BROTHER. WE ARE NIGERIANS AND SHOULD SEE OURSELVES AS ONE BODY.LEARN TO FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER. POLITICS SHOULD NOT BE A DO OR DIE AFFAIR. BAKARE SHOULD HAVE USED HIS POSITION TO COOL NERVES WHEN PROBLEMS ARISE. IF HE HEARS FROM GOD, HE GOD WOULD SHOWN HIM WHAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE OUTCOME OF THE ELECTION BEFORE IT WAS ANNOUNCED. IF GOD TOLD HIM TO CONTEST THE POSITION OF VP ON CPC, GOD WOULD HAVE SHOWN HIM IN ADANCE WHERE HE BAKARE SHOULD BE AFTER THE ELECTION. City People are known to be rumour peddlers but jokes aside, people are subtlety living the church not because he lost or he contested but due to the main fact that despite all barbaric atrocities that were committed in the North, Pastor Bakare is still adamant and unremorseful about the wantom loss of life choosing instead to dwell more on how he will actualize his dream to rule Nigeria by proving the election was rigged. That was the threshold people felt that there was more to his decision to join politics than just being fortunate. I have a friend who attends his church but suddenly admitted that he has stopped going there for a while, but that is just one person i know and the City People probably had isolated cases like this and decided to exaggerate the report headline to attract customers, and that is what they love doing just to stay afloat their business |

Any supposed christian that still attends Bakare's church needs to have his or her head examined. A bloody fake pastor who could not openly and vociferously denounce the post-election killing of innocent christians/southerners in the north orchestrated by (or on behalf of) HIS party and presidential ticket? (but was rather bitter that his self-aggrandizing desire to be 'his excellency' Mr. Vice President did not materialize). That fact alone conclusively exposes the Satanism of this insufferable beast that claims to be a man of god. I spit hot phlegm on him and everything he represents. He is no different than Buhari, and both of them are no different than Osama Bin Laden. Terrorists and mass murderers who are not fit to live. |

City People Magazine can lie?!!!! Chei! I still remember the lie they told about Rev Sam Adeyemi of acquiring a private jet when the church was busy raising money to reconstruct their building back then. They had d picture of the pastor and his family, wrote the plane's engine number, mentioned the company that manufatured d plane, said it was a customized jet for him and wrote all manner of things to make their story convincing. Its almost caused problem for d pastor then until he came out to d church that d story was d imagination of the writer and jokingly prayed dat d wish of d writer for shd come true someday. City People is a shame of a magazine. A disgrace to journalism and objectivity that the profession stands for. |

That people are worshiping there in the first place is a mystery to me. . . . . . . . .fake pastor. He can't even see his own future (prophecy) then how the hell will he be able to see Nigeria's. Anyway, the only reason Nigerians are so religious is because of poverty. when there is so much hunger, fear of the unknown and decay you have no choice but to rely on a higher power to take care of you and these baaastards know it. Thank God he lost. i wonder what would have become of Nigeria if they had won. An islamic extremist and a fake pastor; what a combination. At least we know with PDP we are going to hell slowly, but with BUHARI/BAKARE we would get there with the speed of light. |

That assertion was not true. I was still in Church last Sunday with population I guess more than usual that the second hall (Dominion Hall) has to be opened for other members. I guess those that City People refer to are those that joined during the political race hoping they can get their own share from the national cake if Pastor is eventually elected. Journalist should not be posting lies in the name of selling their "wares". Thank you. |
