i quite agree with you, blendy, udemmmm, etc. I read this forum like 3 months back and Dr Emeka`s name kept popping up. My husband and i went to see him at Olivebranch in Lekki and i can bet you, we have never seen a nicer and caring doctor like him. its not really all about the money or status, its the care and encouragement and how he makes his patients feel. God is using him for His greater purpose. We started the IVF procedure with him immediately in November and did the ET in early dec 2012. I can not tell you the joy and happiness we felt when the pregnancy test can POSITIVE!!! I think i cried for like the whole day cos i couldnt believe it. I still didnt believe until we did the scan and i saw the pic of d baby in my womb. Its just amazing and i giv God the glory.

Emeka is God sent. When I was still undecided on where to have my babies, he encouraged me to use Georges since I did my antenatal there and also becos he will be there himself to ensure everythg goes well as his ivf patient. I thought of the money involved since my companies clinic doesn't refer patients there and we considered Georges. Despite the fact Dr Emeka is not a staff of Georges and won't be paid for any services rendered, he was there with me from my entering into the theatre and even did the stitches himself after he brought out the babies. Even my hubby was marvelled at the way he took charge to ensure everythg goes well. Am grateful I met this God sent Dr who will go the extra mile to make his patients happy. If u're still in doubt of who Emeka of Georges is, just call him to dicuss your case and you will know if he is the same as other ivf Doctors.

Thank you all for all the wonderful recommendations. I took some time off ivf after a failed second attempt at St.IVES Ikeja. I decided to seek another opinion elsewhere without knowing for sure which hospital to go to really. I have been to The Bridge Clinic to make inquiries and was supposed to have started my medical examinations end of January but I kept having cold feet. Just yesterday, I came across this discussion on this site and I discussed with hubby who encouraged me to find out the location of the hospital.
For St. Ives , dr Okewale is good but he needs to do something about the bunch of nurses he has. They will be the downfall of that clinic. Most of them are so insensitive and careless. Imagine a woman leaving after embryo transfer without being informed of the continual use of cyglogest till she is asked to stop. They make silly mistakes and in Ivf, there should be no room for mistakes!!!!

Welcome Nogen.sorry to hear about your failed attempts. I totally agree that in IVF there should be no room for mistakes. Having said that I also believe that every couple should try as much as possible to find out everything they can about IVF before going on to invest in it. Imagine investing close to N1M in a business without information in it.

I had a case of bleeding 7days post ET. When I told my doctor he waved it off. I kept insisting so he increased my luteal phase support in the next try. But it still happened. There is just no way any Embryo will implant 7 days after it was transfered. I still complained to him that apparently I don't absorb the gels. I asked for intramuscular injections he refused.

So I sought a second opinion. I got a private prescription for IM progesterone. I did not bleed 7days after transfer but I still didn't get pregnant because it was FET and the embies didn't thaw well. But now I know that IM progesterone is the best option for me. Most doctors are careless and some are set in their ways.so its good to have a knowledge of the procedure.

Forgive my rambling, having said all, we only plant, God gives the increase.

@Smiler! Thank you ! It is very important to research very well before embarking on IVF journey. It is just a roller coaster journey. So sorry for all that you went through. This is why i took some time off and i made up my mind to go for it when am really ready with all the information i needed. Find a very good clinic with excellent staff who have empathy for the clients they serve.
There are basic things to do before going for Ivf but they never tell you because, it is a game of gamble and if you don't succeed the first time, you will come back. Afterall, you need children. God will surely do it for everyone of us who desire to have children.
