TooNoisy:
For example, when you remind them that an Igbo son - Nnamdi Azikiwe - was the person that made referendums and secession a treasonable felony, they will deny and try to rewrite history. Both Awolowo and Ahmadu Bello wanted the regions to have the option to secede but Azikiwe was against it and the British sided with him.

When you remind them that 5 Igbo soldiers truncated our First Republic and brought in the military who had no idea of governance, they will deny and try to change history. They did not complain then, because an Igbo man became president, but when the Northerners took over, they became bitter.

When you remind them that an Igbo man - Aguiyi Ironsi - declared the Unitary System of Government and declared that all resources in the regions now belonged to the Government at the center; they will deny and try to change history. Now they call other tribes unity beggars.

The unscientific thing about your write up is that when we substitute Igbo for another tribe say Fulani, you will not use such a sweeping over generalization like Reno.
So, in your book, any historical action by an Igbo, especially the bad ones will be generalized to include ALL IGBOS, born and unborn, involved, and uninvolved.
Reno has a little difficulty proving his false historical theories against Igbos, then he is challenged by equally situated Igbo and even non Igbo historians, and he begins to moan and biiitccch about Igbos in general.

If all Fulanis are not criminal herdsmen, while are all Igbos involved in the coup?

If all Yorubas are not hijackers, why did some Yorubas hijack an airplane to protest for Abiola?

There's no textbook or scientific paper that justifies your wanton generalization and categorization of all Igbos, but you do it anyway, because it suits your evil and myopic purposes. Shame on you, and for Reno, he knows better. He has been on this forum a long time, maybe he is looking for cheap publicity as usual.

[quote author=chigator2 post=109079180]MY RESPONSE TO THE CONFUSED RENO OMOKRI

Who made you the sole custodian of History. Some people confuse fluency for knowledge. That is why you seize every silly opportunity to score cheap clout points.

How old are you, did you even witnessed the civil war, what defining moment in Nigerian history were you present. Why then should your opinion become law especially over topics broader than your scope.

Do you think Everyone eats off the social media. People research, study, consult elders and aged people. Who do consult before you come up with your babble. You probably regurgitate whatever you recently read so as to look smart online. We know your tricks.

And the effrontery to conform the entire Igbo nation to your silliness is what I can't understand. Are you more learned than Achebe, Ike and the rest to be making thoughtless noise online. You better respect the little relevance you have left before life puts you in your place.

Stop being Too Noisy and Irrational so much that you make false claims.
Please show me show denies these existential truths that everyone witnessed and recorded. No one can so stop lying sheepishly.

I am Igbo and I affirm that these events occurred but the only alteration I want to make is your judgement of their intent. To me they were borne out of positive intentions by detribalized, nevertheless Nigeria is a failed experiment so it backfired and barbarism took over.

While you wait for your referendum why don't you start with the suggestion made by one of your comrades in another thread.

https://www.nairaland.com/6923789/nigeria-literally-collapse-igbos-relocate

You people claim you own 70% of Lagos properties and 80% of Abuja properties. You claim you have the biggest and most profitable businesses in Nigeria. Why not just relocate these businesses to the East? Why not just take your investments to the East. You do not need to wait for any referendum. Show the rest of Nigeria that you are serious by building your businesses in the East. Put your money where your mouth it. You unserious lot and unity beggars.

We all know what you really want is the presidency and you wouldn't get it because you don't play the game right. You cannot threaten and blackmail others to get the presidency. As I said earlier, let the Igbos begin to invest in the landlocked Eastern region and the rest of the country will take you seriously.

By the way, Lamidi Cownu was offered secession with the 5 eastern states but he insisted on Niger Delta oil. Una think say na only una get sense. Come and carry the oil now? Common run along and go vote for Atiku!!

In the not too distant future, this online hate btw ibos and the rest of the country will soon get to the streets and I wonder how ibos gonna survive the heats. No single tribe can stand as their ally cos they've destroyed their image with hate for everyone.

One thing I hate about them is believing they are better than everyone in Nigeria including their benefactors, Yorubas. People have tolerated their insults enough but a time is coming when they gonna get the results of their hates. It won't be funny at all. Sadly their leaders support them.

The fact is that no Sub Saharan Peoples history can measure to the Great Igbo History.

For example in Nigeria, Nigerians haven't come to the terms to accept that the oldest continuously inhabited city is the Guild City of Awka. She is atleast 200 years older than Benin City. Archaeologically/scientifically proven. Not abradacabra.

Let the truth be told for once. Igbos always look at other ethnic groups as inferior to them. They are the major cause of the problems in this country.

Nzeogwu killed Ahmadu Bello, his wife and kinsmen. He killed the Yorubas also, but none, I say none of his own was killed in the 1966 coup. Ironsi took over, that wasn't a problem but when the Northerners gathered and meted same treatment the Igbos gave to them, in return, they cried genocide.
They cheat you but doesn't want to be cheated. They sell drugs and destroy youths of other tribes and country but they have been resisting Mpkurumiri in their communities.

Igbos should learn how to be humble and be less problematic, troublesome and stubborn.

Igbo States are not the poverty capitals of the South
Igbos own the major daily Business deals in Nigeria

Economically the region can survive on its own.

LegendHero:
The war loss already damaged the psyche of the Igbos.

So long they remain in Nigeria, other tribes will have to at least tolerate them. They are faced with the same psyche problem as the black Americans due to the effect of slavery.

No matter their class or position in the society, they all exhibit the same kind of mentality so Reno is right.

If an Igbo man call you out he will say he is fighting for justice.
If you can an Igbo man out, he will say you hate him.

The Igbo man thinks everybody hate him no matter how close in ideology/proximity you are to him. Massage his ego and he will love you to a fault, go against him only once and he will scream to the heaven that you hate and u’re jealous him. A kind of psychological defect that can’t be easily erased.
Most Nigerian Tribes hate the Igbos and it became very obvious during the South African Xenophobia Treatment.

So many people online, even hear on Nairaland and some of my neighbours were in support of the killings because they believe that only the Igbos go to Southy until people got to know that the victims were of diverse cultures and tribes.

Igbos are hated almost anywhere in this country. Mostly because of the hustling spirits. I know how some Yorubas hate Igbos and I also heard the reason from one of them.
But we are talking about peace here.

No one said they are better than the others.

Moreover most Nigerian Tribesmen don't even like themselves then talk more of someone from another tribe.

If they really hate the Igbos like you claim then they should allow them go set up their own Nation.

This is a recent footage of UMUAHIA, The Capital city of Abia state. It looks like those Scandinavian places in Europe, yet some people label it as the worst capital city in terms of infrastructure in the South East. I personally dont think so though. However, if this is the 'worst' capital, then imagine what Alaigbo would be without the Nigerian factor.
