Also, illegally refusing to consider a persons qualifications, does not equal him joining with an SSCE. He joined as a bachelors degree holder, but was placed way below his appropriate rank - and the same nonsense continues till today.

The qualification for recruit's is SSCE and that is what he presented. Bsc is not acceptable for recruit's.

The problem is that the man just wants to emotionally shame the force into bending the rule for him....and it'll create a very bad precedent subsequently....the rules for his cadres clearly states that it requires no extra academic qualification for his job/role..

If he wants to work in the police college...he may first need to resign his current appointment and wait for when the police college posts vacancies for the position that his phD makes him eligible for.... even then... That he'll be picked will depend on him performing best of all other candidates... because police corporal experience may not be a requirement for employment into the academy

Moreover..he wants the police to acknowledge a certificate for which he was not granted a leave to go study....even when the appointment letter clearly states that he must not undertake any other engagement academic or otherwise while still employed?...

The University that granted him admission and PhD after knowing his background and without requesting a study leave letter may also get dragged into this malaise later...


It is only on humanitarian grounds that his matter can be considered...but will lead to grave consequences because others will also go that route and cite his case as a premise for their request.....

On policy ground...it's dead on arrival... unless he resigns from the force and takes up full academic appointment somewhere else...

If really he wants to teach...then he should focus on other institutions...not the police..it's like a DSSC wanting to become an NDA commissioned officer...can't ever happen and those who made that policy know why... you'll have to for a change to that policy first...not request to bend it

If you join the Army with Bsc your rank starts from Second Lieutenant, Master degree is Lieutenant.

In the Army if you joined as other rank, after completing your degree program you will be commissioned as a second lieutenant.

Degree holders go through DSS or SS, I don't know what the police call theirs. But was no accepted and he decided to join has a recruit.

my younger brother joined the army as a recruit, after few years he went for his degree program while still receiving his salary. On completion of his degree program he was commissioned as a second lieutenant, today he is a captain in the army.
