Mustapha had already pleaded not guilty. The onus is on the prosecution to show the evidence Against him. After 12 years they could not. So mustapha'begin tell story.

Solozzo:

It would be superfluous to expect mustapha's video to show these leaders collecting Money live. They probably have collected the money before meeting AbubakAr and the press, to soften their minds. Nairalanders be smart and apply your intellect. The murderer of Abiola was also in the video!!!

So what evidence would prove that they collect money?

You mean them entering to meet Abubakar is enough evidence that they collected money? Pls be smart

Beaf:

It is certain from the way he is behaving that anything he has to release would implicate him as well. Thats my reading.
Since he has little to lose, he is now playing a game of dare. So, he drops the names of a couple of dead guys and a General who is in poor health, he mentions he gave an increminating tape (which he possibly has copies of) to Obj. Then he namedrops Ribadu who is in Afghanistan. The only really serious name thats present in the country is Mike Okiro.
Al Mustapha might have enough to blackmail several people with in the hope that they will "negotiate" and pull strings, but because of the high stakes, he is likely to have to risk all (both his freedom and his life).

Hasn't he been implicated already

The letter which was read in open court, stated that after Abiola was confirmed dead, Ige was counseled to bring all other South-West leaders under the guise of dousing tension.“All these actions were deliberate. You were only used unconsciously to ensure that Abiola’s death was covered up. They succeeded in stopping all Yoruba leaders and Abiola’s family from suing by paying them off with huge sums of money withdrawn from the Central Bank,” he said in the letter.

For a supposedly smart army officer, the above has to be the most idiotic statement credited to Al- Mustapha. So, Ige being called upon to douse tensions that might have been inevitable makes him complicit and is evidence that he was bribed? This script is worse than Nollywood. Ridiculous rabble rousing!!!

Al-Mustapha suffering from hallucination – Falana
By Kunle Falayi
Friday, 5 Aug 2011

Lagos lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana, has described the allegations by the ex-Chief Security Officer of the late General Sani Abacha, Major Hamzat Al-Mustapha as induced by “prolonged detention hallucination.”

Falana told our correspondent during a telephone interview on Thursday that Al-Mustapha only wanted to curry the sympathy of the public.

He said, “His allegations are diversionary and designed to whip up unnecessary sentiment and make the public lose sight of the gruesome murder of Mrs. Kudirat Abiola, which is the subject of this trial.

“I represented the Abiola family at the Oputa Commission of Enquiry. On the many occasions he gave evidence on the illegal killing of General Sani Abacha and Chief M.K.O. Abiola, he never linked the late Chief Bola Ige and Pa. Abraham Adesanya to the killing and neither did he accuse them of connivance.”

The lawyer said Al-Mustapha should have made his allegation when Ige and Adesanya were both still alive.

Falana said, “A Yoruba adage says it is a liar who says his witness is in heaven. following the cold murder of Mrs Kudirat Abiola on June 4, 1996, Pa Adesanya, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, Pa Ore Onasanya and Chief Ige were arrested by Al-Mustapha and detained on the allegation that they conspired to kill the lady.

“When those allegations collapsed, Kola Abiola was arrested under the guise that Kudirat was killed as a result of a family feud. Miss Hafsat Abiola had to come out to say her brother could not have killed her mother.”

He also made a reference to the brutal murder of Pa. Alfred Rewane in his house at GRA Ikeja, Lagos.

Falana said, “The armed goons who perpetrated those dastardly act had given evidence in court where they admitted before the Oputa Commission of Enquiry that they were agents of Al-Mustapha.

“The ongoing trial pertains specifically to the cold murder of Kudirat. All efforts to implicate the victims of the massive repression of that time are dubiously designed by a man who is suffering from prolonged detention hallucination to divert the course of justice.

“The fact that the Adesanya and Ige met with Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar was in the public domain. Let him show the footage of when he claimed money exchanged hands between the deceased and Abubakar.”

According to the human rights activist, M.K.O Abiola was detained in dehumanising conditions for four years in a custody supervised by Al-Mustapha. He said even Archbishop Desmond Tutu of South Africa lamented the terrible state in which he found Abiola when he visited Nigeria.

He said, “I was allowed to see him. He told the world he met an Abiola whose health was greatly impaired and could die anytime. At that time, he had fallen down in the bathroom and had a broken ankle. He was in excruciating pain as he was denied medical attention, which he offered to pay for himself.”

“On one occasion, Abiola’s personal physician, Dr. Ore Falomo, offered to see him on passionate grounds. Al-Mustapha ordered the doctor’s detention at the Kaduna Prisons.

“The evidence presented at the Oputa Commission of Enquiry was that the remote cause of Abiola’s death was the criminal denial of medical attention while the immediate cause was the mysterious tea that terminated his life. Our evidence was backed by scientific proof. We established a strong case to prove Abiola was murdered by the Nigerian state

Abiola prompted Afenifere chiefs to visit Aso Rock —MKO’s ex-aide
By Olusola Fabiyi, Abuja
Friday, 5 Aug 2011

A former Personal Assistant to the late Chief M.K.O. Abiola, Chief Olu Akerele, has said the late Chief Bola Ige and others did not meet a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, in order to frustrate the realisation of the June 12, 1993 presidential election.

Rather, he said it was Abiola who wrote a letter to Afenifere leaders through Ige, asking them to do whatever they felt was good for the realisation of the mandate.

Akerele, who stated this in an interview with our correspondent in Abuja on Thursday, asked Nigerians not to be carried away with the statements credited to a former Chief Security Officer to the late dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, that the military used the duo of Ige and the leader of Afenifere, late Pa Abraham Adesanya, to scuttle the realisation of June 12, 1993, presidential election which was believed to have been won by Abiola.

Akerele, who was also later detained by the former CSO, said neither Ige nor Adesanya collected money from the then military junta in order to kill June 12 as claimed by the incarcerated security officer.

On what prompted Abiola’s letter, he said Abacha and Al-Mustapha had gone to town with a lie that Abiola was ready to abandon the struggle in exchange for his freedom.

He said this lie was already gaining ground which made the likes of the late legal luminary, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN); the late human right activist, Dr. Beko Ransome-Kuti and a former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba to say that with or without Abiola, the struggle would continue.

Akerele said because of this, Abiola decided to write letters to the Afenifere leaders and Fawehinmi.

He said, “Chief M.K.O Abiola wrote letters to Afenifere and Fawehinmi. I was given the two letters. I gave the one for Afenifere to Chief Lekan Alabi, who delivered it to Ige. I personally delivered the one for Gani.

“If you think I am lying, you can speak with Alabi, who is still alive. In the letters, Abiola informed them that he had not abandoned the struggle and that the rumour making the rounds that he was tired of being in detention was a lie from the pit of hell.

“The rumour emanated from Abacha and Al-Mustapha, who thought that they could use blackmail to reduce the respect Abiola had among his people.

“Abiola assured them in the letters that he would not abandon the struggle and that he would not start a fight he could not finish.

“It was after getting the letter that Ige summoned the meeting of the leadership of Afenifere, where the matter was discussed. Those at the meeting included Ige, Adesanya, Chief Ayo Opadokun, Justice Onasanya, whose first name I cannot recollect now.

“It was at this meeting that those to meet the former head of state were nominated. They did not go there on their own; they went there on the prompting of Abiola himself.”

On whether money was given to those who were at the meeting, Akerele said it was a lie, arguing that it would be impoissible to share money in the presence of cameras as alleged by Al-Mustapha.

“He said NTA camera and his own camera were there. People should ask him whether it was possible to share money in the presence of cameras or you also have to call a press conference whenever a bribe is to be given,” he added.

Akerele further said Al-Mustapha was so desperate to implicate Abiola and lower his popularity rating among Nigerians that he (Al-Mustapha) arranged a lady to be used to entice Abiola.

He said when al-Mustapha was told by some people that the business mogul loved women, the former CSO arranged that a security lady be brought to Abiola, with the aim of planting camera devise to record what would transpire between the lady and Abiola.

He said when he got wind of the issue, he had to alert Abiola about the plot.

When that plot failed, he said Al-Mustapha also asked his security men to engage Abiola in a scuffle, with the hope that he would get angry.

“The plan was to shoot Abiola and the security operatives would claim that they did that because Abiola wanted to escape,” he added.

On whether Abiola knew he was going to die in prison, he said no, adding that when Abacha died, Abiola had anticipated that he was going to be released.

Rather, he said Abiola instructed him and his son, Kola to start preparing for a reception in anticipation of his release in Lagos

When the nut-job Al-Mustapha made the silly allegations, some flippant folks went to town singing gleefully, "Yorubas sold their brother". Now the man has shown us his "evidence" to back up the allegations, and I'm hearing stuff like "He be like pregnant woman. He don born one, but make we no conclude yet say na only girl him born, as we no know if another pikin dey him belle".

Fact is: the diversion is over. Now it's time to hear your case so that you can pay for your crimes, murderer.

you know there is a problem with the society when people are canonizing a killer and psychopath.
Why is he taking so long to name the living who either collected bribe or were used unconsciously like Pa Ige?
How exactly does this tie in with the crime he is standing trial for?
In all his stories, there is not one where he was guilty,he was always the saviour of the masses who was misunderstood and framed up.
Can we pls move unto a more exciting movie?
this one is stale and boring.

If he has the video of the yorouba chiefs leaving the meeting which is the part 2, then there is still every possibility that he has the part 1(showing the meeting).,. Reason why he may still be holding unto the part 1 is probably not to lose his bargaining powers.
