They don't even have a hero to celebrate or are too selfish to celebrate one!

Allow us celebrate our heroes and heroines in peace.....

As una plan no materialize, we still remain the MVP in Nigeria! Even oga Boko Haram could not hid his disappointment when bombs, chaos didn't happen in the East during yuletide celebrations! Not knowing his kinsmen have serious plans to visit plateau State and now, we are dealing with IbGaza!

OLODO RABATA! How could Zik refuse the secession clause when he was not in power. The British colonist refused Awo secession clause. Zik verbally opposed.

JagabanB:
First it was Azikiwe who refused the secession clause, but Yorubàs are to bIame.
Ojukwu executed Banjo by saying he wanted to to overthrow him, the first triaI didn't convict him of that, the second one did because Ojukwu wanted it.
He won most of the wàr tiII he was èxecuted, that was when Ojukwu started Iosing, but the Yorubàs are stiII to bIame.

If there was unanimity, the British would have had no choice but to accept. Awo and Ahmadu Bello rarely agreed on anything but they did on an agreed secession path.

Zik opposed and subsequently kyboshed it, how ironic that he effectively blocked the path for his own region to leave the federation peacefully and that caused Ojukwu to forcefully pull the East out which sadly resulted in a long drawn out war.

This is just laughable to say the least. I guess this kid's parent forgot to tell him that the troops he was hailing didn't just return at ORE but were brutally repelled. They retreated not simply returned.

THE Yoruba was right on the fence until they realised the war they cautiously wouldn't interfere with was unwittingly being taking to them. Yoruba stepped in and it was a sorry lose for the arrogant enemies.

ONE thing I get to understand from these people attempt at rewriting history is that IT KEEPS PUSHING THE NEW GENERATION OF YOUTHS FROM OTHER TRIBES (YORUBA ESPECIALLY)TO SEEK TRUTH AND SUBSEQUENTLY SEE THESE PEOPLE FOR WHAT THEY TRULY ARE WHICH ARE HYPOCRITES AND MANIPULATORS. THEY AIMED TO DECEIVE OTHERS BUT ARE ENDING UP MAKING PEOPLE WISER ON WHOM THEY ARE.

Bravoooo to our all-yuloba repellant Forces who fought gloriously to stop the biafran invasion on their homeland....such a brave tribe with notable fellows like Ghenis Gan, MC Oluomo, Erwin Rommel, Ade Bendel, Igboho, Portal etc....
Just take a look at the pic and tell me what you make off it....

An entire Division of the federal Forces completely destroyed and it's motorized column incinerated at Abagana through the use of ingenious Tech as far back as 1968......by Maj Andrew Uchendu led forces.

What a sham write up! Could not even furnish names of the so called repellant abi una no get heroes ni?

Sitting on the fence ko, fence sitting in...lol 🤣🤣🤣🤣 very soon na lagoon una go Siddon!

Abeg comot for road make people read real historic facts about what transpired.

Y'all should celebrate Victor Banjo and Ifeanjuna for stopping the collapse of Nigeria federation in 1967.... To terrible y'all don't like celebrating a truth that reveals your ignorance!

Stop reading history written by known cultists and chain smokers! Go and dig up archives written by active players in the melee.....

All it would have taken to crush federal Forces in 1967 battles at Ore, before the Brits sent armament to y'all was so much as relay of a signal from Victor Banjo to the front lines and each battalion would use it's spearhead diversions to make y'all free indeed!

But the treacherous fellow, acting under direct guidance of his MI6 handlers delay sufficiently for days till Britain airlifted sophisticated arms to federal Forces.

You know what I'm talking off....that treacherous traits of feigning ignorance while y'all know what y'all planning on!

Anyway, he foolish to have gone back to the East, knowing fully well, a hot lead will do him in!

Celebrate Victor Banjo, and Ifeanjuna they both deserve to be celebrated! Abi na Boko Haram una want celebrate?

Result Decisive Biafran victory

Biafra
Commanders and leaders
Nigeria: Murtala Muhammed
Republic of Biafra: Jonathan Uchendu
Strength
Nigeria: 6,000 soldiers
106 vehicles
Biafra: 700 soldiers
Casualties and losses
Nigeria: 5,800-5,900.
Biafra: None.

The Abagana Ambush (March 31, 1968) was an ambush by Biafran guerrilla troops led by Major Jonathan Uchendu that wiped out the Nigerian 2 Division. Of the 6,000 Nigerian troops ambushed, only a very small number survived, including the 2nd Division's commander, General Murtala Muhammed.
(That humiliation was why MM was demoted and sanctioned by Gowon).

Background
On 4 October 1967, the Nigerian 2nd Division began bombarding Onitsha and continued the assault for eight days, before a 10 boat armada crossed the Niger River into the city. The occupying Nigerians didn't pursue retreating Biafran soldiers and instead opted to loot and burn the Onitsha market to the ground. The Biafran 11th and 18th Battalions under Major Joseph Achuzie and Col. Assam Nsudoh formed a pincer and attacked Onitsha from two directions, capturing and killing most Nigerian soldiers.

In December 1967 the Nigerian 2nd Division and the 6th Battalion crossed the Niger River at Idah and began making their way towards Onitsha, finally capturing the city after several attempts. The Nigerian Forces now intended to link up the 1st Division at Enugu with the 2nd Division at Onitsha. To this end the Nigerian 2nd Division moved out towards Enugu, in a long convoy supported by armored cars, on the 31st day of March 1968.[4]

Ambush
On 31 March 1968, a convoy consisting of 106 vehicles belonging to the Nigerian 2nd Division transporting 6,000 soldiers, as well as armour from Onitsha to Enugu was ambushed and decimated in the town of Abagana by a small unit of Biafran soldiers led by Major Jonathan Uchendu.

Homemade Ogbunigwe rocket missiles were launched
by the Biafrans at a tanker truck carrying gasoline which caused an enormous explosion destroying many of the convoy's armoured vehicles and killing a large number of Nigerian troops. 350 tons of Nigerian Army equipment were destroyed or captured by the Biafran troops. After the rocket attack the Biafran soldiers opened fire on the convoy with small arms fire killing many more Nigerian soldiers. It was during this ambush that the Nigerian army suffered the heaviest single loss in the civil war.

Aftermath

The successful ambush at Abagana gave both Biafran soldiers and civilians hope in the war as well as temporarily halting the Nigerian advance into Biafran territory. General Murtala Muhammed was relieved of his command and never commanded a division again.

In his own words, Uchendu said the sight of the convoy almost paralyzed his troops. His boys were so anxious to start firing, more out of panic than anything else. He asked them to remain calm until he gave the command. He allowed much of the Nigerian 2 Division convoy to pass through. His boys were shocked why he would allow them go through into the Biafran held zone. They were nervous and suspicious, yet they trusted his military gallantry and so awaited to know his strategy. He said they concluded that the war was over, but as brave soldiers, they must fight to the last!

As he was guiding the soldier with the rocket launcher on what to do to the invading convoy and when best to strike, the soldier accidentally pressed the trigger, letting go of the rocket. Luckily, he hit a fuel tanker. The tanker exploded and threw its contents onto a nearby armour carrier setting everything ablaze, causing multiple explosions.

In panic, soldiers who already crossed over into the Biafran line ran in different directions in total confusion. The Biafran soldiers attacked. They radioed the regular troops and they joined in the attack. When Uchendu learned that Muritala Muhammed was with the convoy and somewhere in Nawfia, he set off hurriedly to capture him but was late as Muritala was sighted taking off with a helicopter.

As you can read on the bolded, the Biafrans were fighting with Strategies, but poor, homemade arms.....

All Victor Banjo was required to do, was just radio the signals he was given for the actual Commandos to finish the job! But the werey kept the signal to himself because he knew the federal soldiers could not withstand the onslaught!

Awon repellant Forces! Learn from the tacticians for Nigeria to move forward!

Banjo didn't die for Nigeria, Ojukwu murdered him in cold blood because he "thought" Banjo failed to make Biafra happen for him. So much responsibility on the shoulder of young innocent confused Yoruba boy.
And what did he himself do? He wore skirts and blouse with headtie, tucked his dick between his legs and cowardly ran out of the country
Such cowardice by Ojukwu is unprecedented in the history of mankind. He was a coward to the core.

Idiot that doesn't know anything about warfare. How could the Ibos have taken Lagos unawares when they had to go through Ibadan first? The line of communication and supply would have stretched at least 400km. At Ibadan the Nigerian army was already waiting for the biafrans. If they'd made it beyond Ore, Osogbo would have been a bump on their way before Ibadan. The element of surprise was already gone after the Biafran flag was hoisted at Benin.

The biafrans would have been routed at Ibadan. If they made it beyond Ibadan Lagos would be ready for them. They would have made the same mistake the Germans made in attacking Stalingrad, stretching their lines about 2000km from home. That was the battle that turned the war against Hitler.

If anyone had been telling you the biafrans could have taken Lagos in that war, you have been deceived simply because you know nothing about how wars pan out.

Ojukwu indeed was a poor military strategist. No wonder he lost about 80% of Biafran territory within the first year of the war. He just wasted 3 million lives for nothing only to run to Ivory Coast not caring what happened to the people he left behind. He even made sure his Mercedes Benz went with him. He even said years later that the war was a mistake. That's how much he cared about ibos. grin

I'm damn sure you are talking of the type of education that makes a professor work as VP to a semi illiterate, or the type that make a Nobel laureate see nothing wrong in supporting a sanctioned drug dealer, a confirmed certificate & identity forger, or a professor who rigs election for rogue politicians!

We sabi the type of school una dey go for Nigeria.....be on strike for 8 months, learn for one month, write exam within one week and earn a degree!

Come here come see schooling. Shameless fools! Before your miserable life on earth ends, try and live in a proper and well run society, I bet you your useless brain will be deradicalize by force!

Y'all have Victor Banjo and Ifeanjuna to thank! He should have relayed the damn signal with him!

The plan was simple. Two spearhead diversions, meant to isolate Lagos and free y'all from hundreds of years of caliphate rule, and a commando task force meant to pin down Kaduna and Kano haha 😂😂😂😂. That's if una like merge with Benin republic. I go still dey enter dey ball. Because i no hate una, just y'all not fit yo be in same country with the Igbos

And Victor Banjo a yuloba man trusted by the highest echelon of Biafra Army commando knew of this and was trusted to relay a simple signal. The motherfvcker refused!

By now, na Biafran or Arewanistan passport I for dey take enter Lagos!

But what can one do for people who think their chains are ornament of beauty?

Isolate Lagos indeed, Olodo.
Even Banjo knew he was walking into a trap in Ibadan. You know he was a Yoruba, not a foolish headstrong iboman like ojujwu. How do you isolate Lagos with a ragtag army?

Surprise attack? grin grin 400 fvcking kms away!!!!
With all those noisy ogbunigwe armament, even when the Nigerian 2nd Mechanized Division was waiting for you at Ibadan. The same Ibadan division that beat the ragtag Biafran army back to the Niger river!! Are you stupid or completely mad?

This one can't be blamed on his dad, this dude went to sleep, woke up and decided he was going to make up stories on Nairaland.

Anyone that dared to challenge his twisting of facts and logic will get insulted and abused.
