samstradam: We are over 1 million people living in Abuja. They can do their job if they want to. Let there be a revolution but not about subsidy removal. Subsidy removal is essential for the survival of our economy; we don't have more to 3 years to survive with subsidy still in place. IBB is there, burn down his house and kill him. OBJ, Atiku, Tinubu, Mbadinuju, Odili, etc. We all know where they live! |

Obiagu1: Is he not supposed to build refineries, fix power and other necessary structures before the removal of the subsidy? I'm not against the subsidy removal, likewise most Nigerians. If you've been reading and listening to those against the removal, you'll know that one of the conditions given to him is to FIRST build refineries in Nigeria. Then we can remove the 'so called subsidy'. Period. Moreover, who are the cabals behind corruption? Me, you or the masses? Definitely not. They're the same people telling us to fight corruption. You know what? The fuel cabals will be feeding off us now instead of the Govt. |

purplekayc: LOL well since the USA pays about a dollar to a liter, then Nigeria too must pay the same which happens to be about 145-160 naira |

purplekayc: what joke USA pays, Nigeria and any other country must pay a similar amount our world is based around the usa economy. in zimbzbwe if 1 DOLLAR is 8000 zim dollars, then 8000 zim dollars for a liter of fuel SHOULD BE THE PRICE |

With the increase in fuel prices, Boko Haram incoporated would not have enough fuel to power its vehicles, hence leading to reduced distribution of bombs around the Northern territories, GEJ was wise afterall, brilliant strategy haha |

Nigerians need to fight mentality battle first before the citizens can face reality on ground. It is the same mentality that persuade the call for troubles in the country and why some think to rule the country is their birth right. Well, all I can say is the people should know what is right for them and country to move forward. Removing fuel subsidy is not a bad thing for the economy. One of the reasons is Nigerian economy is expanding and oil is required to power many factory, businesses and run generators of the increasing middle class, large chuck of foreign earner for the govt.,etc. |

okada_man: yes oooo okada man maybe when you buy fuel tomorrow and notice you have to increase 30 trip to 60 naira thus lack of costomers you would still be in buiness Okada would reduce drastically and privatly owned would increase thus more traffic for you and your buiness as well also after the okada buiness shebe u go go house go eat. When you here that cup of garri for 20 naira is not 80 naira then you would rejoice more least i remind you that you also have to pay your house rent whenic would increase from lets say 50 thousand a year (as okada rider) to 100 thousand a year, then u might be forced to live under the brigbe to contiune your okada buiness. yes ooo God bless GEJ |

What a silly conjecture though! Manage the water to get what you need and still have some left than wasting it. whats silly about it? don't we have oil in this country to satisfy all? but no some powerful people are controlling it through their cartels and it has been happening for ages now, |

alj_harem:I hate this government with a passion, but i think despise nigerians even more! A people who God has given so much but are so intrinsically petty, that they seem unable to ever make the right decision no matter how many chances they are given, due to the same jealousies of the 60s. We never learn, we have no standards and thus our merry-go-round continues. And while slumbering another beacon of the black race, Brazil, overtakes UK as the 6th largest economy in the world. should a Brazil be more united than us? |

the solution to all these sh*t is to build more refineries so that we can refine our own milk ourselves and not export and import it again! |

There is nothing like fuel subsidy at the first place, all we are doing is trying to standarise our price to IMF standaries aka USA but it is all good. make we suffer am together bros abeg u too enjoy it |

i never fully believed this man was retarded until today, any rational thinking man knows that you cannot totally deregulate commodities such as oil in a bad and non free market economy. the effects of this decision will be mostrous, the small cabal who previously collected the subsidy money will form a cartel and fix prices by themselves. THERE IS NO REAL COMPETITON IN NIGERIA. all fuel distributors probably know each other. wow the world better end on 2012 or nigeria will.this is probably an IMF policy to destroy our economy so that we either help in bailing europe out, have oil prices fall or totally destroy our economy so that everyone is worse off. okonjo-iweala, sanusi, gej == illiterates |

all4naija: please shut it and stop spreading falsehood here yes Nigeria can do without exporting crude oil but we chose to export it. Reason being we need some money in return for our resources so we can buy other commodities |

alj_harem:Why did you think there is no fuel subsidy? Nigerian fuel is as cheap as other countries which subsidized theirs, even among the OPEC! You are among those leading people astray by passing misinformation across online . |

Nigeria can't do without exporting crude oil because it is largely depended on for foreign exchanges. Jeez! was refering to the fact that we have to export unrefined petroleum products to other countries then import it again to our country for use lol!! |

Re: Fuel Now 141naira/liter, Bought 141 @ Oando In Maryland, How Much Did U Buy? by aljharem3: 3:22am On Jan 02, 2012 |
uche92: LOL btw, the oil theives would have made 300% profit on oil today because of the stored oil was bought at 20 naira and meant to be sold at 65 naira but now even much more profit if they sell it at 146 naira you see, the difference from 65 naira to 145 naira was what the government was paying for according to them but now if I have already bought it at 65 naira and the subsidy already paid to me. I still reserve the right to sell it at 165 naira thus I have made 500 % profit Now that the market is deregulated, the cabals can make money in 2 ways 1. form a coopration- aka onado, conoil, etc can come together and regulate their prices as they wish to sort there need 2. selling fuel at different prices to NNPC as they wish. - each il company can sell it at different rate to nnpc thus the price of oil would be varing from week to week unless the governemnt is still prying for this subsidy they said they would remove to keep the price constant |
Re: Fuel Now 141naira/liter, Bought 141 @ Oando In Maryland, How Much Did U Buy? by Nobody: 3:28am On Jan 02, 2012 |
That will always happen. The distributors will always have that initial increase in profit as long as they have reserves from earlier purchases when it's relatively subsidized. Wake up from your slumber and stop complicating issues. Learn to be a solution than being a problem. |
